Gyaradosite Toxapex [QC 1/2]

[SET]
name: Gyaradosite Toxic Spikes
move 1: Toxic
move 2: Recover
move 3: Toxic spikes
move 4: Payback
item: Gyaradosite
ability: Regenerator
nature: Sassy
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Gyaradosite Toxapex's great bulk paired with really good typing before and after mega evolving allows it to take on a lot of different threats in the Mix & Mega tier. Water/Poison lets it check offensive threats such as Altarianite Arcanine, Reshiram, and Keldeo and Altarianite Kommo-o without Taunt.
Regenerator as base ability also allows it to trade some of its HP to punish Pokemon like Mew, Hippowdon or Lucarionite Kyurem with Toxic and eventually recover back the damage by switching out. After Mega Evolving, Toxapex becomes one of the most reliable special walls in the meta enabling it to answer Psychic-Types such as Mewtwo or Indeedee, and Ghost-types like Lunala, Gengar or Diancite Dragapult. Toxic allows it to beat Pokemons that cant 2HKO it like Salamencite Noivern without Taunt, Rotom formes and Kommo-o, as well as to cripple defensive pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Clefable, Gastrodon or Mew. Payback is Toxapex's best Dark-Type STAB, letting it deal immediate damage to the likes of Gengar, Lunala, Mewtwo and Dragapult while pestering pokemon with Toxic immunity such as Corviknight and Excadrill. 0 Speed IVs and a Sassy Nature are prefeared in order to move last and deal more damage with Payback. They also enable Toxapex to underspeed Sablenite Corviknight and set Toxic Spikes after it uses U-turn, making it harder to absorb them
Mold Breaker lets it realiably set up Toxic Spikes and inflict Toxic without having to worry about Magic Bounce from Sablenite and Diancite users.

Both Gyaradosite Toxapex's typings are weak to Ground, which means Ground-types like Lucarionite Mamoswine, Rhyperior and Hippowdon are able to switch in and threaten it out. Toxapex's passive nature doesnt let it get past Pokemon immune to Toxic such as opposing Toxapex and Corviknight, while being setup fodder to Necrozma-Dusk-Mane, Excadrill, Terrakion and Lucario.
As such Bulk Up Corviknight is a nice partner, being able to cover Toxapex's Ground weakness, counter any Necrozma-Dusk-Mane set and being a good answer to Excadrill while also abusing Toxic Spikes.
Physical defensive walls like Manectite Mew, Banettite Jellicent, Lunala or Hippowdon help against offensive pokemon that pressure Toxapex like Zeraora and Terrakion, non-Altarianite Hippowdon can also deal with the aforementioned Steel-types, Mew likes Gyaradosite Toxapex being able to switch into most Ghost-Type attackers that threaten it out such as Lunala and Gengar. Defensive Lunala is able to answer Excadrill and block its Rapid Spin allowing Toxapex to abuse its Toxic Spikes more effectively. While Jellicent is weak to Zeraora, it is also capable of blocking Excadrill's Rapid Spin and answers other Ground-Types like Rhyperior, Mamoswine, and Hippowdon while also taking on Necrozma-Dusk-Mane and Howl Arcanine.
Lopunnite Zeraora and Lucarionite Terrakion are good partners too, since they love Toxic Spikes crippling their best checks like Manectite Mew, Altarianite Rhyperior or Hippowdon and can pressure defoggers such as Corviknight and Mandibuzz.

My brothers stole my pc so I had to finish writing this from phone, as such you may find some typos or random words written by the auto corrector. Either way this should be qc ready, not too happy about some examples (i.e. where I mention regen, both rotom-heat and alt toxtricity(ignore this being an unmon) can just volt switch making my point about trading life for toxic useless) so I'd be glad if you could help me out with those

Addition, Removal, Modification, Comment. Good job :blobnom:. I went and corrected the typos I found, if you want you can copy-paste.

Gyaradosite Toxapex's great bulk paired with really good typing before and after mega evolving allows it to take on a lot of different threats in the Mix & Mega tier. Water/Poison lets it check offensive threats such as Altarianite Arcanine, Reshiram, Keldeo, and Altarianite Kommo-o without Taunt.
Regenerator as base ability also allows it to trade some of its HP to punish Pokemon like Mew, Hippowdon, Rotom formes or Altarianite Toxtricity Noivern with Toxic and eventually recover back the damage by switching out. After Mega Evolving, Toxapex becomes one of the most reliable defensive answers to Psychic-types such as Mewtwo or Indeedee and Ghost-types like Lucarionite Gengar, Lunala, or Diancite Dragapult. It counters all of Gengar's sets. Also, I moved Lunala because it carries Ghost coverage more often than Psychic. Toxic allows it to beat Pokemons that cant 2HKO it, like Lucarionite Kyurem, Salamencite Noivern, Rotom formes, and Kommo-o by recovering the damage, as well as to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Gastrodon and Hippowdon. Luc Kyurem can 2HKO Pex with EP/Ice beam followed by Meteor (and not megaing doesn't work because of Freeze Dry). If you want to add it onto the list, be sure to rephrase. Mold Breaker lets it reliably set up Toxic Spikes and inflict Toxic without having to worry about Magic Bounce from Sablenite and Diancite users.

Still, Toxapex's passive nature doesn't let it get past Pokemon immune to Toxic such as opposing Toxapex and Corviknight, while being set up fodder to Necrozma-Dusk-Mane, and Excadrill. I would add Lucario, too. As such, Bulk Up Corviknight is a nice partner, being able to cover Toxapex's Ground weakness, counter any Necrozma-Dusk-Mane set and being a good answer to Excadrill while also abusing Toxic Spikes.
In a similar way, Sablenite or Altarianite Hippowdon can help against the same threats with the bonus of checking offensive Pokemon that can pressure Toxapex, like Zeraora and Terrakion. Manec Mew does the same and checks Mamoswine (which might need to appear as a threat to Pex, at some point in this mini), and also appreciates the countering of Mewtwo and Ghosts, so I would definitely add it as a potentially good partner.
Lucarionite Terrakion is a good partner too, it makes up for Toxapex's passiveness (While I agree on the partnership, I feel like Toxapex remains passive, and it doesn't really bring Terrakion in. I would rephrase this to emphasize how Toxapex is a direct switch-in to a lot of threats to Terrakion like Arcanine pre-mega, and Lunala and Mew post-Mega. Also, I'm struggling to see what specific advantage Terrakion brings to Pex. While that is not a necessity, if you find something, add it by all means!) and loves Toxic Spikes being able to cripple its best checks like Manectite Mew, non-Heavy-Duty Boots Lunala, or Hippowdon.

Water/Poison lets it check offensive threats such as Altarianite Arcanine, Reshiram, and Keldeo and Altarianite Kommo-o without Taunt. The added "and" is to communicate that Keldeo works exactly like Kommo-o here where if it has Taunt it shuts Pex down
Regenerator as base ability also allows it to trade some of its HP to punish Pokemons like Mew, Hippowdon, Rotom formes I'd leave this mention out like you said earlier, they just Volt Switch on Pex before it gets the Toxic off or Lucarionite Kyurem with Toxic and eventually recover back the damage by switching out. I would also mention the pivoting freedom Regenerator gives Toxapex as I feel this is almost a more important dynamic of keeping your Pex unmega'd After Mega Evolving, Toxapex becomes one of the most reliable special walls in the meta enabling it to answer to Psychic-types, such as Mewtwo or Indeedee, and Ghost-types like Lunala, Gengar or Diancite Dragapult.
