Hello first I want to say thank you for adding hackmons cup to the roster, it is an incredibly fun metagame with a surprising amount of strategy and skill involved, especially in a bo3 format

the signup posts didn’t allow us to advocate for why we’re deserving of a manager’s selection, so I will do so here. I could point to my selection as HC mvp in rbtt6, or being top 8 in the rbtt 7 power rankings (don’t ask how many were ranked), but perhaps my most powerful pitch is this:

e1e2230ba65fd8f814a6a9a2eeab6eb9.png

if this happens even one time during the season, that’s a huge win for our team. Hope this helps

I was asked to compile a "power ranking" of sorts for hc players so the OM lads have a bit of a resource to look at. Do not take my word as gospel.

I looked at the RBTT Historical Stats Sheet as my #1 source of truth, then I used my own personal knowledge of players, then finally I looked at tournament results, such as the Multi Hackmons Open and the, uh, Multi Hackmons Open (again). I factor in tournament results the least because of all the crap data you get from the early rounds of these tournaments. I wanna reiterate wouldn't really be making this list if i weren't asked because in a format like hc it's hard to really see "styles" of play represented and also I don't wanna diss on my friends. If you didnt show up where you wanted im sorry :c

A tier and above are roughly ranked. Anyone on this list is a good pick whom I would endorse. If they are not on this list, that does not mean they are necessarily bad, it means I don't have enough data on them.

S+ tier
longhiep341- if you can summon the blood demon to get hiep to play i think your team instawins like every format this tournament. good luck with that, though

S tier
chiori mikami/multiammore- dude's got the best RBTT hackmons record. tied for #1 in set wins across all years, except with fewer game 3s. no-nonsense style play.
cake- has not played in a tournament in ages. goated at this format, super knowledgeable about rands formats (and mons in general), it would be dumb to leave cake undrafted.
sharp_claw- doesn't quite have the storied rap sheet as some of the other guys, but the RBTT's they've played they've done very well. routinely beats me in friendies.
platinumCheesecake- me. i'm an oldguard player who only plays hc. i suck at everything else but i seem to do ok at this format. i'm tied for #1 on rbtt set wins across all years and wrote the guide to the format. this is the only format i play so i guess i have a lot of experience
fragments- fragments wins a lot even despite some appalling luck. if he doesn't tilt and gets a reasonable team he wins every time
panty&stockings- P&S doesn't play in rbtt because they're too good at other formats. But when they do play HC they always show up and perfom really, really well.
nudepantsman- a more "new school" player with quality game sense and good rbtt performance. Fun guy to play and great team spirit.

A tier
soTsoT
- you'll see a lot of players like sot who are super skilled at the format but don't have the results in rbtt for me to definitively rank them above A tier. Has won a HC Multi tour
luchick- has done very well in the hc tours we've ran. Won one of em, but otherwise I don't know too much about their play.
amaranth- basically mons knowledge incarnate. Afaik doesn't have the longest hc experience sheet, but i see a lot of super sensible play from them.
snorlax142857- like luchi and sot, dude does very well in hc tours and competent at a lot of rands formats, but their skills typically lend them towards playing lower variance tiers in RBTT play. good mons player with a head for hc
shadows4- Shadows is good at random formats and is a rbtt hc player, though his winrates put him just outside the toppest of s tier. Tons of hc experience here and a very good snag.
petros- used to play hc a lot, hasn't really played much since i don't believe since they're good at maingen rands. still a great player.
lucas2543- Great guy, great hc player. has a high overall rbtt win record, though most of those wins are against other A tier players or in non-hc formats.
sunsets- dunno much about them, but they played hc in the last rbtt and did pretty well
altthiel- A newer name to HC. played in 1 rbtt and went 4-3, winning against some solid players.

B tier
zephyr dragon lord- plays a lot of hc, doesn't get the best results in rbtt sadly.
emboar02- a player with a lot of potential to be a serious HC force in future. super nice person and good team morale
jasprose- every so often jasp will be asked to fill in for an hc slot here or there, and they always seriously impress me with their play.
lady writer- LW is kinda just good at everything. Their HC play to me reads like a player who's really good at randbats and transliterates it to hc

Names i haven't enough knowledge on that you should investigate:
a loser
ghostilex
ihasdisname

RIGHTCLICKERS HUGE GIGANTIC OMEGA BHUU PLAYER RANKINGS

S-tier: Players who you can just slot in UU without support and would do very well in both teambuilding and clicking.

Clas - One of the 2 actually serious BHUU players. Their teams are up to date and they have actual meta knowledge, they're also pretty decent at BH in general so should be a good clicker.

A-tier: Players who could do well in the tier but has flaws or requires some support.

rightclicker - I don't know who this person is but apparently they're the other person who actually played BHUU seriously. Decent at BH and also has meta knowledge, but probably needs some support to make sure their teams don't accidentally get 6-0d by some random breaker.
Shame you can't actually draft them.

Akira -

I can't actually confirm this cuz I stopped laddering after I peaked #2 but take it how you will. Also you can't draft them regardless so lol

Everyone else - Yeah me and Clas are pretty much the only people who played BHUU seriously when it was a ladder lol. Still you could probably slot a good SVBH player in here if they're interested in UU and they'll probably cook.

C-tier: Decent players, but has major flaws and/or requires extensive support.

:eagle: - Physically unable to play lol

ORAS HACKMONS PLAYER RANKINGS

ORAS Pure Hackmons player rankings because I'm the only manager who's familiar with the Pure Hackmons playerbase. Not ranking myself because I'd be in Tier 0 I'm signing up as a manager and thus won't be drafted by someone else. Note that these are only my opinions, and I might not be familiar with everyone's accomplishments; if I forgot someone it's not necessarily because they're less competent a builder/player. Not factoring in team environment, support for other tiers, etc. Might also do Gen 7 if NToTheN's too lazy to get em done.

Tier 1

NToTheN
- Best overall builder besides myself imo. Relatively consistent despite running mostly standard stuff with minor move variations, not much to say.
Shay's Fate - I actually rate them pretty highly as a clicker, probably the best pilot out of all the active players. Building is solid but sometimes gets lost in the sauce. Probably very solid with support to double check building though. rip

Tier 2

berry
- Solid overall player. Decent builder but builds are a bit antiquated imo, and have trouble keeping up with current meta trends; on the flipside they've been around since 2014 or so so they've seen a lot and should persevere with support.
Eyeos - Solid builder, only seen a few teams from them though so can't say much. Playing is okay. Borderline tier 3
Illusio - Similar to berry, they've been around for a while and afaik have been reasonably competent the whole way through.
manu 11 - Playing is good at the very least. They've been around since current gen BW + was a top player in current gen XY to my knowledge. Been inactive for a couple years now but even outside of PH they've had very good records (8-0 in blitz Ubers TPP 1 or some shit) so I'd say they have a very high ceiling.
Ransei - Creative builder, has a diverse array of ideas but sometimes gets lost in the sauce. Aggressive on the 5050s which is probably a slight net positive.
lag=bad - Creative builder, likes building unconventional stuff like Bounce Spikes Dialga balance. Alright player. Would probably appreciate building support to double check builds

I'd also put arkeis here had they signed up, they had the record for highest GXE when the ORAS PH ladder still existed and plays very competently relatively to the pool.

Tier 3

Ballfire
- Hit 95.x GXE and 1800s (I think?) on ladder a while ago so familiar with the format, doesn't build very much to my knowledge though.
blahpy - Old player from current gen BW to my knowledge. Can't comment on builds but playing is at least solid (they've won vs me on ladder before).
CommandoBruh - Borderline but despite being inactive for a year or so they got to 92-3 GXE and mid-1700s on ladder iirc.
Onyx Onix 7 - Very strong Hackmons intuition in general, though there isn't much room for incredibly scary offbeat building in ORAS PH. Playing is solid though
RL - Mostly average teams afaik, did hit ~1750 on ladder though. I could be forgetting something
realexcaliju - Played during current gen XY, and builds are somewhat antiquated from what I know but playing's alright. I could be misremembering though
sussyamongusdrip - Is this the Intimidate Venusaur guy? I forgot, no comment otherwise. Close to Tier 2 from what I've seen of them.

Other Potential Support
Only 6 ORAS PH slots total means the competition is fierce enough that I don't think anyone I didn't list above is realistically starting, but here are some other potential players to get as subs/support. Only listing people I've seen play the meta in some capacity, but I'm sure non-mains could win games if they took time to learn and understand the tier.

BP
Glory
Hiusi guy
Sheep Liver
teamo

we aren't doing tryouts (as in actual spl style tryouts) atm but feel free to inflate your price and alter our draft plan with resumes in #resumes
Would like to add to this that while yes we do have a pretty good draft plan we still are inexperienced, so we don't know every hidden gem or good player, so don't be shy to send ur resumes:D particularly if ur interested in bhuu

If we're dropping resumes here, I'll give it a try! I'm currently #1 on the (extremely legitimate, please don't look too closely) Gen 8 Hackmons Cup ladder, with an alt (Victor Wimpodyanma) in the top 5 of Gen 9 HC, where I've reached the top on a few occasions. I don't have team tournament experience in the format yet, as there aren't many opportunities, but I've always enjoyed Hackmons Cup and would love to try my luck against the best in the world. Thanks for your consideration.
