Hey all, I'm new to the vast world of competitive pokemon. I've been reading these forums for a while just because they seemed interesting, and I finally decided to make a team on Pokemon Online; I made it this morning but I didn't have a chance to battle with it.

Before I go ahead and lose a bazillion times, I thought I'd run my team by you guys and see if I could get any help.

For EVs, I didn't really know what the heck I was doing when assigning them, so I'm just gonna leave them out.

Abomasnow (lead)
Snow Warning
Life Orb

Blizzard
Giga Drain
Substitute
Leech Seed

I figured that I was better off with a Life Orb than Leftovers, due to the healing from Leech Seed and Giga Drain, but I don't know if I want him defensive or offensive; this set leans towards special attacker.

Froslass (spikes)
Snow Cloak
Leftovers

Blizzard
Spikes
Shadow Ball
Thunder Wave

Dual Ice/Ghost STAB, Paralysis inducer, and Spikes.

Reuniculus
Magic Guard

Calm Mind
Psychic
Focus Blast
Toxic (didn't know what to give him for the 4th slot).

Calm Mind to set up, Psychic for strong STAB, Focus Blast to take care of Steels, and Toxic because I didn't know what else to put.

Hariyama
Thick Fat

Earthquake
Bulk Up
Close Combat
Stone Edge

He's my Fire switch-in with Thick Fat, taking them down with Earthquake. Stone Edge is for extra coverage, Close Combat is for STAB and for Steels/Darks, and Bulk Up is for when I have some breathing room to set up and buff.

Cloyster
Skill Link
King's Rock

Icicle Spear
Rock Blast
Shell Smash
Surf

From what I read, Cloyster's quite strong now thanks to Skill Link. Icicle Spear for STAB, Rock Blast for Flying and Bugs, Shell Smash to set up, and Surf...because I didn't know what else to put.

Slowking
Regeneration
Leftovers

Boil Over
Grass Knot
Calm Mind
Toxic

I was leaning for more of a special wall here with Slowking. Boil Over and Toxic are here for status, Calm Mind is there to boost up if I got some room, and Grass Knot is for extra coverage.

Now, I'm new at this, so don't tear it apart so badly, but what do you guys think?

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

Your descriptions are lacking, which means you are violating the above quoted RMT rule. If you wish to remedy this problem, explain your reasoning behind each Pokemon and why they work on your team more thoroughly. Try to aim for 3-4 well formulated sentences with your descriptions that explain: why you selected a certain Pokemon; what their role is, how they work together with their teammates, etc.

Also, you must test your team before putting it up for a rate. Additionally, you need to indicate what EVs your using, as well as your natures. Once you've fixed these problems, contact me, and I'll unlock your thread. If you need any assistance, feel free to ask me.

PS: You can insert pictures by using the insert image button, which looks like a mountain. The icon is located next to the insert hyperlink and quote buttons. Once you click on insert picture, a box will pop up prompting you to input the URL of your image. Once you have done that, press OK, and your image should show up.
