Happiness?

I need some info on how to gain happiness/other mechanics related to it. What I'm raising for Draco Meteor doesn't seem to be gaining any...
 
Just spam-feed them the EV reducing berries, which coincidentally raise happiness as well.
 
Then grow more...? They have a growth time of like 12 hours for 5 or 6, it's really not difficult to obtain more. They are quite simply the fastest way to raise happiness, do anything else and you'll be stuck trying to raise it forever. I can't find whether or not poffins raise happiness, but it's at a miniscule rate compared to the berries if they do.
 
Also, try hatching some eggs while you're at it; Pokemon gain 1 happiness point for every 256 steps you take.
 
Or do some other EV training. That's pretty much what I did to get my Mence to learn Meteors
