This is a revised edition to my old team. It is doing a lot more stably but still, something is missing. This team wins a fair bit but it still struggles against some of the more solid teams so I'm looking on feedback for improvements.
The team is a very offensive team with no walls and not even entry hazards and relies on excellent coverage and incredible offensive pressure to win games. Therefore, there is very little "role" in my team (maybe except Abomasnow). EVs are fully offensive geared so little to be said of them
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mienshao (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Hi Jump Kick
- Drain Punch
- Fake Out
The usual lead and revenge killer. Hits like a truck on a good majority of pokemon except for Ghosts which he can usually only U-Turn out of. Fake Out/HJK is absolutely devastating doing very respectable damage on neutral and even resisted hits. Drain Punch is for when he's the last man and when his life is at critical so that life orb does not finish him off and gives him a slim chance to fight on. That's the theory anyway but I find myself very rarely using this so I would probably replace it, maybe with Stone Edge to hurt the likes of Gengar.
Volcarona (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Psychic
Its incredibly deadly dual STABs give it plenty of chances to pull of a Quiver Dance. Fiery Dance is used over Fire Blast due to the huge chance of getting more special attack boosts. Bug Buzz for STAB and Psychic for coverage. It is surprisingly quite bulky and can take a hit if it needs to but 4x weakness to stealth rocks really limits it if rocks are on the field. Usually my end game special sweeper.
Haxorus (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Rivalry
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rock Slide
- Dual Chop
- Outrage
- Earthquake
Devastatingly powerful pokemon. Main thing of note is usage of Rivalry over Mold Breaker. Mold Breaker is mainly for Earthquake but I very rarely use it for one reason - Outrage. To be honest, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Dual Chop are situational moves since Outrage virtually guarantees something dies when used and it still really doles out the pain to walls like Ferrothorn so usually, it would be the safer option to choose rather than having a shot in the dark with predicting the other moves. Still, Dual Chop is quite useful since it is very handy at breaking subs but I would usually go with the powerful Outrage unless it is evidently a bad idea. Usually my end game physical sweeper.
Abomasnow (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Giga Drain
- Blizzard
- Focus Blast
The only one with a real set purpose besides wrecking stuff, Abomasnow is here to be a doorstop to popular Sandstorm and Rain teams with resistances to Ground, Water and Grass with respectable bulk even with no EV investment. He can normally take a super effective hit that isn't fire. Scarf Abomasnow takes a lot of people by surprise and his dual stabs including a 100% accuracy Blizzard provides very good offensive coverage at the cost of having 7 weaknesses. Giga Drain is used since the increase in power to very acceptable levels now while Focus Blast is to handle most SS team members. Shadow Ball to round up type coverage.
Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
Standard LO Starmie. BoltBeam combo with good STAB. Rapid Spin since Stealth Rocks destroys Volcarona. Also gets Gyro Balls from Ferrothorn due to Rapid Spinning their hazards allowing me to switch to Volcarona and threaten to set up or just kill them outright.
Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Motor Drive
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Cross Chop
- Earthquake
- Wild Charge
- Ice Punch
Wild Charge finally gives Electivire a strong sturdy STAB attack. Something it missed for a long time. With Cross Chop, Earthquake and Ice Punch, Vire hits 13 types for super effective. Expert Belt is used over LO since the recoil damage really builds up together with Wild Charge. Still, Motor Drive activation is dependent on using Starmie or otherwise counting on electric types using STAB so it is fairly unreliable but it is usually fast enough to hit slower people anyway so failing to get it doesn't hurt too much.
---------------------------------
I think a Scizor and maybe a Gengar or Gyarados would really help the team but I'm not really sure who to replace. Besides, with Scizor, there would be two x4 fire weakness in the team which would warrant a flash fire user which would not give me more type coverage due to Volcarona. This team is fairly solid and most losses can be blamed on my mistakes rather than the faults of the team but of course I'm looking to making it stronger so please give any suggestions. Thanks!
