Hello, my first post here. Please help rate my Shoddy team. I found a few flaws (ahem Heatrans) but I have trouble fixing them.. help me please! BTW first post. :)
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
This is the standard lead, I suppose. I exclude the suicide set-uppers while constructing a team, so this got the same treatment. Helps kill Gengar, Infernape and several other leads. Can explode on Blissey most wonderfully too. Serves to take out 1-2 Pokemon and soften the rival team.
Heracross (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
This is a revenge Killer of sorts, helps to kill both physical and special walls. Does 60% to skarmory, OHKOs Blissey, and Hippowdon takes a bit, too. Also likes to Pursuit the Scarf gar/others who are locked into moves which don't affect this Bug.
Snorlax (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Pursuit
This is my "better" CB pokemon, as it can hurt a lot of stuff without taking much damage. Special Attackers lost, with such an EV spread. Also spreads paralysis, to support my team. Earthquake covers Heatran switch-ins and Scizor eats a Fire Punch on a switch.
Salamence (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 216 HP/252 Def/40 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Wish
This Mence covers my Fighting weak somewhat, however, although it does enough to Scizor, I feel this is set-up bait and needs to be changed. I was thinking of a Zapdos, which would fit the team perfect, since it has the same weak/resists as Mence. Currently hits stuff with Draco Meteor, dispatches those Scizors, etc. I might replace this with a Specs Dos and slap a Scarf on Hera, advice please.
Mamoswine (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- Earthquake
It is a mammoth. Seriously.
This helps to finish off those Outrage Salamences, Scarf Dosses and the like, who hate ice. Superpower is a good surprise for Blissey/TTar. Earthquake for STAB and good general coverage. Helps with the Electric proneness of Aerodactyl and Mence. Stone Edge is almost filler, since it only hits Gyara which kills me.
Aerodactyl (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Double-edge
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
This thing is under-rated, but thats good for me!
This is my sweeper, with its awesome speed and its nice ATK, especially with LO. STAB on EQ and RS helps a lot, Ice Fang finishes off opponents, Double-Edge gives me hope against those Swamperts, because I sometimes reserve Lax+Mamo for the sweep and send this in after Azelf faints or something.
Well, thats the team. I currently have issues with Gyarados(DD/Bulky), Scarftran. I'd also like Heracross to perform better, but I'm afraid that sacrificing power for speed may hurt my team's strategy. I also lack good
electric attacks to KO Suicune, Milotic and the likes, though nothing major. Scizor is somewhat a pain too. Oh, and the team's strategy would be to kill every wall, and let loose the remaining sweepers. Its kinda hard to explain it, but it works most of the time. My main Pokemon I want to test is Salamence, because I feel he is not doing so well.
