I got into Ubers a few days ago, and damn, it is fun! I don't know if it's just because the Pokemon are just so ridiculously powerful that I hardly have to worry about annoying little things, or because they have fun movesets, but I like it a lot better than OU.
Anyway, this is a team I made a few days ago and tested a few times today. It's done well, but the people I've battle weren't exactly "good." So I was seeking some input from all you Smogonites who don't try to Poison Jab Dialga.
Darkrai, @Choice Scarf
Modest; 252 SpAtk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Dark Pulse, Dark Void, Ice Beam, Focus Blast
A common Uber lead, but I felt it was the best thing to buffer Deoxys-S before it gets any entry hazards out. I usually Dark Void the opposing lead (which will also remove any Focus Sashes because of Bad Dreams) then switch out to save Darkrai for revenge kills in the later game. Ice Beam allows me to OHKO Rayquaza and Focus Blast is somewhat of a filler, but it does let me hit Dialga, Tyranitar and opposing Darkrai for a lot of damage.
Kyogre, @Choice Specs
Modest; 252 SpAtk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Water Spout, Surf, Ice Beam, Thunder
I chose Specs over Scarf because 1) I already have Darkrai and 2) Specs makes Kyogre ridiculously powerful. Specs + Rain + STAB makes Water Spout insanely strong, 2HKOing even Blissey. I even 2HKO opposing Kyogre with Thunder. Ice Beam will do a decent chunk to Latias as it switches in. Surf is there for when Kyogre's on it last legs and needs to get one more powerful attack off. I've considered making Kyogre Timid, but I elected Modest for the raw power.
Arceus, @Spooky Plate
Jolly; 92 HP, 240 Atk, 178 Spd
Shadow Claw, Brick Break, Substitute, Swords Dance
This is the physical Ghost sweeper. I wanted a Ghost to negate the occasional Rapid Spin attempt, but I didn't want Giratina to act as a sweeper. Thus, Arceus came in. The EVs are a bit different than the Smogon set to create 101 HP Subs to absorb the occasional Night Shade that Deoxys-D might throw. Once I have a Sub up, I can Swords Dance and deliver a respectable Shadow Claw. The EVs let me outspeed Lugia, Latias and Latios. Brick Break paired with Shadow Claw gives unresisted coverage.
Dialga, @Leftovers
Careful; 252 HP, 252 SpDef, 4 Spd
Dragon Claw, Bulk Up, Sleep Talk, Rest
In OU, I use a Cursing Tyranitar, but that requires a lot of support due to Tyranitar's many weaknesses. Here, that's not much of a problem. This is a good counter to Kyogre, Latias, Latios, Giratina, Palkia and some forms of Arceus. It makes a great sleep absorber/counter to any Darkrai without Focus Blast. Dialga is something of a secondary special wall too, for the threats that can hit Blissey hard.
Blissey, @Leftovers
Calm; 252 Def, 252 SpDef, 4 HP
Seismic Toss, Toxic, Wish, Protect
Blissey Toxics the walls that will phaze Dialga and Arceus, namely Lugia. Wish support is great for this team because it allows Arceus to make more Subs and heals Dialga so he doesn't have to Rest. Since the Uber metagame is based primarily around Special attacks, I figured Blissey would carry its weight well, and it has.
Deoxys-D, @Leftovers
Impish; 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpDef
Knock Off, Recover, Spikes, Stealth Rock
Basically, this thing comes in whenever it can lays down entry hazards or removes items. I made it a physical wall so that it can take a few hits from stuff like Groudon and continue to do its annoying duties. Other than that, it doesn't do much. I'm not sure about this thing, but I love the support it provides.
This team has issues with Specs Kyogre itself, as Water Spout still 2HKOes everything here. That has made me strongly consider making Kyogre Timid so it can take one Water Spout and 2HKO with Thunder. I'm new to the Uber tier so I know there are threats that I don't see, and I was hoping more experienced Uber battlers could give me a hand. Thanks.
