Pros:
Hatterene has a very high Sp.Attack Statistic which makes it a very strong attacker that can throw powerful special moves perhaps even deadly ones, It's typing turns it into a rather difficult threat to switch-in to, it has a movepool that lets it hit a lot of dangerous Pokemon in the metagame, only with the right predicts and plays though, It can utilize Trick Room For Speed control, or support teammates with healing wish and Trick Room.
Cons:
Hatterene's Low HP stat makes it's defenses rather useless It is very slow, with no reliable way of HP recovery which makes it one of the Easiest Threats to revenge kill if it's in a mediocre position.
Threats:
-Flutter Mane
-Gholdengo
-Scizor
-Corviknight
-Kingambit
-Bisharp
-Revaroom
-Magnezone
-Tinkaton
-Iron Moth
-Gengar
-Toxtricity
-Anhiliape
-Dragapult
-Ceruledge
-Polteageist
-
Terastalizing Potential:

There's three major things, you should add here:

- Hatterene Calm Mind + Draning Kiss set, which is the main and strongest one since Trick Room remains a rather niche playstyle. This set should be featured and featured first.
- Hatterene has access to Nuzzle which is seen on several sets, you could feature one with Nuzzle which has a lot of utility in this metagame.
- One of the reasons why Hatterene is good in the tier is Magic Bounce which is particularly useful when there's so much hazards stack.

Hatterene @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Could be a lot of stuff
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power / Psyshock / Psychic
- Draining Kiss
- Mystical Fire / Nuzzle

(Speed EVs on this set are for Stuff like Toxapex/Quagsire)

Having been a victim to the CM set on multiple occasions, Tera Flying is crazy good on Hatterene. A significant portion of hazard setters just don’t run coverage to hit it and it is able to use the like of Tusk and Chomp as complete bait. I hesitate to call it the best option when Steel and Fairy can often be better, but it’s up there for sure.

Also might be completely anecdotal, but I often use Band Meowscarada as my blanket answer to slow boosters, and being able to completely shake off Flower Trick by turning into a resist is completely game ending in some cases.

Honestly Hatterene is completely slept on but magic bounce is absolutely no joke. No one anticipates it, hazards run absolutely bloody crazy in the current meta, and it deals with so many hazard setters, including someone trying to whirlwind my Hatter and it just yeeted itself away and I think that in itself was the most hilarious thing I'd seen in my entire day

If you predict a correct anti-lead switch in congratulations you're getting one Calm Mind up or maybe even two if the opponent didn't realize Hatter is a living uno reverse card; then you can just start wrecking shop with Stored Power until some dark type comes in and that's when you drain kiss it I think.

Nothing to do with anything I mentioned above but bouncing parting shot is actually kinda hilarious (and might actually serve as some sort of way to stop a Hatter sweep???? question mark?????) because it forces you to switch out instead; spent like 60 seconds wondering why nothing was happening only for me to realize I had to switch out and not my opponent because Hatter bounced back the parting in every single possible way of the move lmao

i think Steel > Flying when it comes to tera types because Band Meow still falls short of OHKOing it either way if you invest it defensively (you will) and then you lose a matchup against Chien-Pao which just ice-spinners it to death. Also helps tanking Gholdengo I think.

Sad it dropped to UU but as long as hazards are so common in OU it'll always have its place there.

(espeon? what's that? can i eat it?)

edit:
why tera-steel hatter is funi:

+2 252 SpA Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Hatterene: 195-229 (61.3 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Chien-Pao Ice Spinner vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Hatterene: 90-106 (28.3 - 33.3%) -- 95.6% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Chien-Pao Sacred Sword vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Hatterene: 270-318 (84.9 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

Hatterene is one the most antimetagame Pokémon out there. It wrecks most of the hazard setters and and is really challenging to switch into. Also has a lot of support moves like Trick Room, Nuzzle and Healing Wish. Offensively it is a behemoth as well with one of the highest special attacks in the game and has pretty good coverage.
