Gengar makes for an amazing wallbreaker, breaking through offensive threats like Gholdengo, Great Tusk, and Enamorus-T, as well as having a decent Speed tier. Focus Blast hits Dark-types that try to switch in such as Chien-Pao and Roaring Moon as well as Steel-types such as Heatran and Hisuian Goodra. Nasty Plot turns Gengar into a threatening wallbreaker, allowing it to 2HKO RegenVest Hisuian Goodra and Manaphy with its coverage options. Sludge Wave hits Fairy- and Grass-types like Enamorus-T, Hisuian Electrode, and Ogerpon-W. Energy Ball hits Ground-types like Swampert and Great Tusk, while Thunderbolt hits non-Volt Absorb Corviknight and Mandibuzz. Gengar is great at threatening physical walls like Corviknight and Deoxys-D, so it partners well with physical wallbreakers like Galarian Zapdos and Chien-Pao; in return, they can pressure special walls that Gengar struggles to break through like Hisuian Goodra and Blissey. Due to Gengar's frailty, it struggles against faster threats such as Azelf, Roaring Moon, and Chien-Pao, so defensive switch-ins to them like Mandibuzz, Great Tusk, and Intimidate Corviknight make for good partners. Gengar greatly appreciates Knock Off support from Pokemon like Swampert, Manaphy, and Deoxys-D to remove Assault Vest from RegenVest Pokemon such as Swampert, Hisuian Goodra, and Meloetta, allowing it to have an easier time breaking past the opposing team.

Gengar makes for an amazing offensive threat with the great Sheer Force and Life Orb combo Removing fluff, most people should be aware of that interaction, breaking through offensive threats like Gholdengo, Ceruledge Great Tusk, and Enamorus-T, as well as having a good speed tier. Focus Blast hits Steel-types that are immune to Sludge Wave such as Heatran and Hisuian Goodra, as well as Dark-types that try to switch in such as Chien-Pao and Roaring Moon Swap these around; Focus Blast is mainly for the dark-types, but also help hit Steel-types that resist Shadow Ball. Nasty Plot turns Gengar into a threatening sweeper wallbreaker securing the OHKO on Manaphy, Galarian Zapdos , and Iron Moth with Shadow Ball., allowing it to 2HKO RegenVest Hisuian Goodra and Manaphy with Focus Blast and Thunderbolt or Energy Ball, respectively. Energy Ball hits Ground-types like Swampert and Great Tusk while Thunderbolt hits non-Volt Absorb Corviknight and Mandibuzz. You forgot to talk about Sludge Wave; all moves that are slashed need a mention as to why one should run said move, even if they're STAB Gengar also has a niche as a spinblocker on hyper offensive teams, switching into Rapid Spin from Great Tusk and Quaquaval Scrappy is unfortunately too common for this to be a reality. Gengar is great at breaking through threatening physical walls like Corviknight and Deoxys-D, so it partners well with physical wallbreakers like Galarian Zapdos and Chien-Pao; they can also break through pressure special walls that Gengar struggles to break through like Hisuian Goodra and Blissey. Due to Gengar’s frailty, it struggles against faster threats such as Azelf, Roaring Moon, and Chien-Pao, so defensive switchins like Mandibuzz and Heatran Corviknight make for good partners. Gengar greatly appreciates Knock Off support from Pokemon like Chien-Pao and Roaring Moon Swampert, Manaphy, and Deoxys-D Specially defensive mons are unlikely to stay in on such powerful moves; also Chien-Pao can't even learn it to remove Assault Vests from RegenVest Pokemon such as Swampert, Hisuian Goodra, and Meloetta.

Focus Blast hits Dark-types that try to switch in such as Chien-Pao and Roaring Moon as well as Steel-types that resist Shadow Ball and are immune to Sludge Wave not sure what you meant by "resist shadow ball" and gengar doesnt spam swave half the time it's on the field such as Heatran and Hisuian Goodra. Nasty Plot turns Gengar into a threatening wallbreaker, allowing it to 2HKO RegenVest Hisuian Goodra and Manaphy with Focus Blast and Thunderbolt or Energy Ball, respectively. Sludge Wave is a strong STAB option that hits Fairy- and Grass-types like Enamorus-T, Hisuian Electrode, and Ogerpon-W. Energy Ball hits Ground-types like Swampert and Great Tusk while Thunderbolt hits non-Volt Absorb Corviknight and Mandibuzz.
