[SET COMMENTS]
Hawlucha is a terrifying setup sweeper with a stellar Speed tier alongside Unburden to instantly outspeed the entire metagame, including boosted foes like Iron Valiant, +2 Mega Gyarados, and weather sweepers such as Mega Swampert and—with the given Speed EVs—Excadrill. Its high-powered STAB moves—which can be boosted further by Swords Dance—hit almost the entire metagame neutrally; Acrobatics grants Hawlucha strong neutral coverage against the likes of Tornadus-T, Dragapult, and Tapu Lele, which is backed up by Close Combat to decimate Flying-resistant Pokemon like Kingambit, Garganacl, and Mega Tyranitar. Its item instantly activates Unburden under the corresponding Terrain and grants it setup opportunities from the Defense boost, especially in conjunction with Roost. Electric Seed helps against Kingambit, Zamazenta, and Great Tusk and prevents revenge killing attempts from Dragonite's Extreme Speed, Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch, and Weavile's Ice Shard, while Psychic Seed helps against Gholdengo, Volcarona, and Choice-locked Dragapult. Taunt or Substitute deals with problematic walls, ignoring status like Toxapex's Toxic and Skeledirge's Will-O-Wisp; Taunt also prevents their recovery and phazing as well as Defense-boosting attempts such as from Skarmory or Tera Water Buzzwole, while Substitute blocks Landorus-T's Intimidate and punishes the use of weak attacks like its U-turn, Garganacl's Salt Cure, and Alomomola's Scald. The bulk investment allows Hawlucha to survive Clefable's Moonblast, which is unnecessary if running Psychic Seed. 176 Speed EVs can be used instead to revenge kill +1 Dragon Dance Dragapult. Tera Flying boosts Hawlucha's Acrobatics, potentially OHKOing Clefable at +2 and letting it set up against defensive Tornadus-T if necessary. The corresponding Alolan Guardian is a mandatory teammate to reliably activate Hawlucha's Unburden; Tapu Koko provides dual screens and brings Hawlucha in safely on Tangrowth and Ferrothorn with U-turn, while Tapu Lele pressures Toxapex and overwhelms Gholdengo. Offensive Pokemon on hyper offense teams such as Iron Valiant, Volcarona, Annihilape, and Mega Gyarados help maintain offensive pressure against the opposition; notably, they can force damage onto shared checks like Gholdengo, Skeledirge, Zapdos, and Toxapex, respectively, for Hawlucha to sweep more easily.
