Hax Attacks

*Not finished

To Do List:
-Explain team details in greater detail
-Add pictures / make visually appealing
-Add facts from experience and trials

This team focuses on annoying the foe, wearing down and stopping the other player from getting momentum so that I can set up a sweep with Haxorus.

tOGEKISS.png

Togekiss (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 116 SDef / 136 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Air Slash
- Roost
- Nasty Plot

Parahaxing at its finest. Thunder Wave + Air Slash + Serene Grace = lots of pissed off people. Roost is for recovery. Nasty Plot allows me to increase Air Slash's power and I've attained 2-3 KO's from Togekiss alone in alot of battles.

612.gif

Haxorus (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Outrage

Big bad Haxorus himself, and the inspiration for this team. Double dancing works wonders, and Brick Break/X-Scissor don't do anyone any good. Outrage is for lolwut damage and Earthquake is for coverage. Lum helps with status and lets me get away with using Outrage without confusion.

Ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn - what else is there to say? At this point everyone should know Ferro. Leech Seed makes recovery lovely. Stealth Rocks are mandatory. Protect combines nicely with Leech+Lefties. Gyro Ball is more useful than Power Whip, in my experience. The rare OHKO's with Ferrothorn via Gyro Ball are always nice.

Rotom-W.png

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Trick
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump

Trick lets me screw up the opponent if its the right situation - who wants a Scarf'd Ferrothorn? Volt Switch scouts out opponents for certain moves and deals ok damage. WoW takes down physical attackers and deals residual damage and Hydro Pump is STAB. I'm considering trying to put Pain Split in, and also considering Choice Specs over Scarf.

heatran.jpg

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP / 12 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Torment
- Substitute
- Protect
- Lava Plume

Tormentran is awesome. I love the stall battles he creates. I use him because most threats to Heatran only carry one attack that hits him hard, so I can stall them out and annoy them with this set. I'm unsure on Leftovers or Air Balloon, but for now I'm using Lefties for Substitute recovery.
This works with Torment utilizing the fact that most of Heatran's threats only carry one attack that threatens him. Torment prevents them from using it every turn, so that SubProtect can fill in that turn and save Heatran. Lava Plume is so I'm not Taunt-bait and to deal damage.

Magnezone.png

Magnezone @ Air Balloon
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SAtk / 220 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Charge Beam

Magnezone the Trapper. As Berry1 & Box put it, this will allow me to neuter Skarmory, Ferrothorn and Scizor on the opponents team. Substitute to absorb status and dodge damage. Thunderbolt coming off of a base 130 Special Attack is just fun. HP Fire keelhauls Steel-Types. Charge Beam allows me to set up on something like Bronzong and improve my damage output. The Air Balloon gives me temporary immunity to Excadrill and allows me to get in a good hit.

I'd suggest switching your Rotom-W to a more standard variant if you're looking to Trick abuse and Volt Switch to scout without dying. With the EV's you have, you're pretty slow and investing that much into his SpD is saving you from what exactly? I suggest running:

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spd
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
-HP Ice/WoW/Pain Split
-Trick

HP Ice to take down Dragons, Will-O-Wisp to hurt physical attackers, and Pain Split to recover HP/Laugh at Blissey. Hope I helped. GLB.

Seeing as this team is about getting a sweep out of haxorus I recommend magnezone for this team as it can trap and kill two of haxorus's most effective counters; skarmory and ferrothorn.

Drop Skarmory for Magnezone, as above.

Your Rotom-W is setup fodder for something like Nasty Plot Infernape after it Will-O-Wisps, as it's pretty obvious when a Rotom is Scarfed.

Hey there,

Rain teams will be very difficult for your team to handle. Rotom-W and especially Thundurus can really heavily dent your team, and probably sweep it in case of a Nasty Plot Thundurus. While you may have Ferrothorn that can switch into Rotom-W, it can't really hurt it back, and Hydro Pump will hurt Ferrothorn a lot, especially if it's Specsed. Furthermore, it can burn you with Will-O-Wisp if it's a standard one, which can really reduce Ferrothorn's lifespan and make you lose quickly. To patch up your problem with Rotom-W, I suggest swapping either Protect or Gyro Ball on Ferrothorn for Power Whip. Most rain abusers will die quickly to this high-powered move, even coming from Ferro's modest attack stat. Even then, Thundurus is still a problem. NP + 3 attacks has a shot at sweeping your whole team, because you can only revenge kill it with Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, which has a shaky accuracy and is easy to play around. To be honest, I'd change Ferrothorn for Gastrodon, effectively giving you the infamous Gastro/Tran/Skarm core that can defeat all three common weathers (Hail is kinda rare in OU), since Gastrodon is really a good counter to Rain, and can beat Thundurus. Here's the Gastrodon set you should use :

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Storm Drain
Calm
EVs : 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
-Scald
-Ice Beam
-Toxic
-Recover

Good luck!

SoT- Doing so now and as I get time! Its hard to find free time and get ready for college.

Jirachi - I REALLY hate using Gastrodon. It always feels like dead weight to me, and I seem to have some sort of block on knowing how to properly use it. Weird. Gyro Ball > Power Whip for me; its more useful overall.

Berry1 & Box - Alright, I'll give Magnezone a go. I know that since I was wanting a dragon sweep I should run the trapper, but it slipped my mind. Plus, +2 Haxorus really dents both of them, so I didn't think about it.

Howard - Updated.
