Haxing in the Rain

Opening Statement:
This is my current rain team it effectively deals with many threats in the new metagame including thunderus it is a bit gyrados weak but I have effectively dealt with it on teams I have faced while laddering but the team doesn’t seem to be taking huge hits from it and if timed right I can easily set up with hax to ko it. This team is one of the best I’ve made (those whom helped are credited). Please rate and have a great day.

Teambuilding process

I started off with trying out a dd hax set in rain

Next I wanted to use a new deadly sweeper so I chose the new Tornadus form

Now my team was showing an ice weakness and politode beign scarfed didn’t help remove it much so I chose the Tentacruel for spinning and resists.

Next I like to have hazards and status flying around a lot in my battles so I chose to add hax rachi with rocks and wish

Hi

This is a nice team however there are a couple of issues with it. The two main ones I can think of are Starmie and Gyarados. Life Orb Starmie is an incredibly strong sweeper and nothing on your team can really switch into it and put a lot of pressure on it. While you do have Tornadus-T which outspeeds it and threatens it with Hurricane, it really can't switch into any of its moves except from maybe Rapid Spin. Tentacruel can take a Hydro Pump and an Ice Beam, but then, Starmie just outspeeds it and hit it with Thunderbolt. Gyarados is another threat as you mentioned, especially the SubDD variant with Bounce. If it has a Jolly nature then Politoed isn't even able to outspeed it, meaning that your efforts to hit it with Hidden Power Electric aren't leading anywhere. It's fairly easy for it to set up on Tentacruel also. I think you could be running Choice Scarf Rotom-W instead of Mamoswine. Rotom-W allows you to put pressure on Starmie with Electric attacks, and can also take its moves, although it doesn't take Hydro Pump very well. Be careful there. Rotom-W is however an amazing check to Gyarados as it outspeeds it and carries Electric STAB which Gyarados hates. Lastly, Rotom-W also allows you to cover things like Tornadus-T and some DD Dragons which Mamoswine also covered so you keep some defensive coverage right there.

Another thing you should definetly consider is Superpower on Haxorus in the place or Earthquake. This allows Haxorus to break through Ferrothorn which will be the main obstacle in Haxorus' sweep. Earthquake is cool and all because of Mold Breaker, but most of the threats like Rotom-W that you can destroy with Earthquake are beaten by Outrage. Bronzong's usage is fairly low as of now, so you shouldn't have problems dealing with it. Superpower + Aqua Tail hits pretty much all the Steel for enough damage anyway. Seeing that your other Pokemon don't deal with Ferrothorn that well that would greatly improve your chances at sweeping mid game with Haxorus as it is such a powerful sweeper.

Cool team, I like Haxorus. Here's the set you should use:
479-wash.gif

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
Timid
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power Ice
-Trick

Good luck!

@Thank your for your rate. Ill definetly try using that rotom over mamo ill test it out and update accordingly. The only reason i prefer EQ on hax is that i feel the the -1 in attack and def can really harm hax in the long run but ill test that aswell

Opposing Mamoswine looks like it could give this team some hell, even with the addition of Rotom-W over your own Mamoswine. Because of this, I'm going to suggest Defensive Starmie over Tentacruel. You maintain your ability to spin hazards, while adding some bulk to the team, and ultimately, having a better way of dealing with Mamoswine. Toxic Spikes are lost, but considering the rise of Pokemon not affected by them - anything that has a ground immunity or a resistant type, this won't really affect your team.

121.gif

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 236 HP / 72 SAtk / 200 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Thunderbolt
- Recover

And definitely implement the changes suggested by Jirachi. They'll help your team out a lot. Good luck with the team.

@Mazz im for sure using superpower and rotom on the team and ill use the starmie the ground weakness really needed to be removed
