Hazard + Sweepers (RMT)

This team is made with one purpose, set up hazards and try to deal as much damage as I can, than change to fast sweepers to try to kill the other team.
It is not a great strategy but it is my first pokemon competitive team, made with easy pokemons to catch that I have access.
I really would like you guys opinion about my line-up and if you have some suggestion I appreciate. But I just can get pokemons that are available on BW2 and Dream World. Thank you.

Forretress @ Leftrovers - Set Hazard
Trait: Sturdy
Evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Relaxed Carefull
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch

He’s the opener, able to set up hazards and make the other team suffer with Volt Switch after setting hazards up.
Rapid Spin to clean enemy weather, Forretress goal is try to deal as much damage as he can. He gona try to be annoying and useful, but if he gets killed fast that’s not a big deal.
Forretress is the pokemon to set up the timing, or you kill him or he gona cripple your team hardly.

Volcarona @ Chesto Berry – Attack / Sweeper
Trait: Flame Body
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
Evs: 160 Hp / 236 SpA / 112 Spe
- Quiver Dance
- Rest
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz

One of the team Sweepers, with Fire Blast and Bug Buzz to stab the other team, great vs. latias, politeod.
Is a sweeper that I choose if I need someone to deal with grass, ice, pokemons.
He’s main goal is kill someone and counter some other team sweeper like scizor. Offcourse I choose Quiver Dance to boost his special attack, spe defense and speed, before the party starts.

Starmie@ Life Orb – Attack / Sweeper
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin

Ok, I think it’s the easier pokemon for me to catch, who real makes the deal, he can kill dragonite and other dragons with his Ice move, clean weathers and hazard.
With Rapid Spin, check water pokemons with Thunderbolt or just rampage with Hydro Pump I think its another major counter for what the meta game offers. Its an amazing pokemon who can check many threats.
He probably has a place in any team on the current metagame and its not different in my team.

Scizor @ Choice Band – Attack / Sweeper
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

The question is why Scizor?
He is perfect for my team I think, with a lot of strong moves to kill other team sweepers with focus on attack to maximize his damage and finish the opponent pokemons that are crippled by hazards.
Dunno if hes the best choice for this team, but i just cant figure someon better with powerfull abilities he workers beautifull with Dragonite finishing his job or setting the timing for Dragonite.

Skarmory @ Leftovers / Shed Shell – Defense / Hazards
Trait: Sturdy
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Brave Bird

If I see the the other team has problems to deal with hazard or if his main hazard counter is dead, is time to Skarmory to try to continue the Forretress job, he can put hazards back on field and stab the other team fighter type pokemons.
I think hes not a big threat but Whirlwind can turn the table to my side if used wisely.
This team lack of defensive pokemons so I think Skarmory is a great guy for the job.

Dragonite @ Choice Band – The Final Boss
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- ExtremeSpeed
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch

Dragonite got Multiscale so he not gona die easily. A good counter for sun and rain team if not the best for what I see.
He can kill other team big threats like Thundurus and Volcarona. He is here to check a huge number of threats that the other team can have.
Working pretty well with Scizor I would like to let Dragonite as the final boss if I'm not facing a weather team.

Thank you all I would like some tips or pokemon changes to improve my team.

Hi Fukuda

Cool team, but I think your team has some redundancies between the roles of your Pokemon. Forretress is the oddball on this team, it's role as an entry hazard setter is being covered by Skarmory already and it's role as a Rapid Spinner is already served by Starmie who is more efficient for an offensive team like your's. I suggest changing your Skarmory set from a defensive wall to the Custap Lead with a moveset of Taunt / Brave Bird / Stealth Rock / Spikes. This Skarmory works as a great lead for offensive teams, as it gets up entry hazards fast while having the ability to prevent your opponent from setting up hazards or boosting moves. With Custap Berry, he's usually able to get Stealth Rock + 1 layer of Spikes as Sturdy allows him to take a hit and then have priority on the second turn. Quick hazards is extremely useful for this team as it puts immediate pressure on the opponent and turns 3HKO's into 2HKO's and 2HKO's into OHKO's.

After making this change, I suggest swapping out Forretress for a LO Sub Split Gengar. Gengar's Ghost typing prevents Rapid Spin which allows you to keep up your entry hazards. Gengar is also an extremely powerful attacker which is supplemented by the Life Orb boost. The option of Sub Split is recommended because it can take out Pokemon other Gengar sets normally cannot, such as Blissey. With Pain Split, Gengar is able to heal himself off of Blissey's massive HP stat and stall out Wish/Softboiled since Pain Split has 32 PP while Blissey's recovery moves have 16. Most Blissey are also unable to break Gengar's Sub so they are forced to switch out, leaving Gengar with a free sub and becoming a massive threat. The ability to lure and take out Blissey is very helpful to your team as it paves the way for a Volcarona sweep. Focus Blast also hits Heatran extremely hard which opens the door for Volcarona as well.

Lastly, try tweaking your Volcarona set to Quiver Dance / Bug Buzz / Fiery Dance / Giga Drain with a Passho Berry. Passho Berry is the Water resist berry and allows Volcarona to beat Scarf Keldeo which is a pretty common answer to the moth. At +1, Volcarona can live a Rain boosted Hydro Pump from Keldeo, Quiver Dance again, take out Keldeo with Giga Drain and then likely proceed to sweep the opponent. Giga Drain is also useful for taking out Terrakion and Jellicent.

Hope I helped and good luck with your team!

Skarmory @ Custap Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Brave Bird
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes

Gengar @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Great team. There is one thing that is kinda off. That is forretress. Yes forretress can lay down spikes and stealth rock but this team is basically hyper offense and ferro is just not the right pokemon.

Reasons why:
- Ferrothorn loses momentum and its a easy bait for Volcarona leads to come and and set up on your face.
- Ferrothorn is just too slow and not even that bulky. Magnezone can come in lock you and 2hko with hidden power and then proceed to wreak havoc on your whole teams without much effort.

Threats:
- Rain teams. Your team seriously hates life orb keldeo with passion
- Sun teams. Once venasaur sets up and has HP ice it's pretty much over.

Problems:
- Skarmory is kinda stupid. You only need 1 hazard setter and yes I do like the originality adding two just in case you kill the rapid spinner
but it still isn't needed.

So solve this problem what you need is speed. Lots of speed.

I suggest getting rid of Skarmory for Magnezone:
- Stops scizor from setting up swords dance as that can hurt badly
- Easy way to deal with mixed Jirachi

Take out Ferrothorn for Smeagle:
- Keeps the momentum going and you can deal with set up sweepers like volcarona with either spore or taunt.

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 96 HP / 120 Def / 40 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Spore
- Taunt

I would say Keldeo > Volcarona but I don't want to mess up your whole teams idea ^__^.

Good luck.

Nova, superspy thank you very much.
I gona make the changes and test a little at pokemon showdown, before go to BW2 lvling.
Smeargle first I need to get 7500 at dream world, i'm not far from it.
Gengar isnt a pokemon that I really like, because I used it at all my teams back in yellow, red and blue days. But I got your point.
I liked the skamory changes and the idea of replace him. But i don't know if Magnezone is a pokemon that I would appreciate, theres another suggestion you guys can make at these points?

Thank You
