Hey guys, Heatmor here, and I am proud to present my first official Rate My Team, Heatmor and The Hellfire Squadron. So far I believe that this is my most refined, competitive, and professional team I have ever made, and I took the most time conducting extensive research to craft this team. Because of this, I believe that this might be my one and only RMT, at least for now.
In my short time in Smogon University, I have felt myself literally evolve socially. I've made so many friends and rivals, learned a lot about competitive Pokemon, and I've just been having a blast. My name is Heat More, and my quest is to get Eight Smogon Badges so I can become a true Pokemon Master.
Anyway, me and my boi Marquis Of Blaze were daring each other to make similar teams to each other, but both had to have a major structural flaw but still be competitively viable. He picked the flaw that his team would be weak to Weavile, and my flaw was to not include Stealth Rock. That's right, I had to have a team without the use of Stealth Rock, which by the way literally was a staple on every competitive Overused Team. Stealth Rock is one of the most significant competitive Pokemon Moves ever since it was introduced, because it factors rock-typing damage into Pokemon that switch in on the field. This severely cripples Pokemon that have 4x weaknesses to Rock, such as Volcarona and Talonflame, as they will lose a whopping 50% of their health on the field! Because of this, every team must also have methods of Hazard Removing, such as Magic Bounce, which deflects status moves, Rapid Spin, a weak move that removes hazards, and Defog, which removes hazards from both sides. Despite each way having it's own strengths and weaknesses, they are a must on virtually any team. For these reasons, it took me a while to do this, but eventually, I finished and perfected the team.

diggersby.png

I started out with an offensive Thundurus-Incarnate & and Diggersby core I thought up. Thundurus zaps Water Types that can handle Diggersby, like Mega Slowbro, Manaphy, and Mega Gyarados. Diggersby, coupled with a 2x attack and Life Orb, can smash through many Pokemon and beat Rock Types such as Tyranitar. Diggersby also appreciates the Thunder Wave Support from Diggersby.

kyurem-black.png

The core was a great offensive breaker duo, capable of wallbreaking and crippling. However, I soon began to have trouble with Pokemon that were very defensive, like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn. Despite giving Diggersby Fire Punch, it wasn't enough. I gave Kyurem-Black to remedy that weakness. Kyurem-Black had the wallbreaking power that even surpassed Diggersby. Kyurem broke through Venusaur, as well as Manaphy, and it was a must on this team.

This team had some noticeable weaknesses. The most notable was Mega Lopunny, who would destroy Kyurem-Black and Diggersby, while greatly hurting Thundurus. My team also had a weakness to Mega Metagross, who would defeat Kyurem-Black, Diggersby, and Thundurus. Mega Scizor literally hard checked Mega Metagross and Mega Lopunny, while being able to Defog hazards away. A Defensive Mega Scizor would be awesome for this team because it checked and countered so many of the team's weaknesses.

Tyranitar, one of my favorite Pokemon, was good on this team because it put a stop to the Zards, who beat this team. Tyranitar is one of the only checks to both of the Zards, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Charizard Y. I gave it a Choice Scarf for good pursuit-trapping, killing the Zards, trapping Latios and Latias, and having brute power. The Sand also gave good synergy to Scizor-Mega and Diggersby.

To finish off the team, I would add Amoonguss, the team's second wall. Amoonguss gave my team two statuses, with Spore, and was basically a toned-down variant of Mega Venusaur, something I could definitely use. Amoonguss countered Rotom-Wash, who would burn half of this team. Amoonguss had defensive backbone for this team that would be the end-all be-all for the Hellfire Squadron.

God of THUNDA (Thundurus) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Thundurus is the first member of the team, and boy oh boy, it has saved me several times. It's the only dedicated Special Attacker on the team, making it have a big role to fill as an early game sweeper. I chose Thundurus to be on my team because it had high special attack, status priority, and had the ability to beat common leads, in Landorus-Therian, Ferrothorn, Rotom-Wash, while killing the pesky Fat Water Types that gave this team trouble. Thunder Wave is for crippling opponents that are trying to setup, and has good priority that stops setup sweepers from running amok. Thunderbolt is a strong move with no drawbacks that 2HKOs the majority of the unresisted meta. HP Ice and Focus Blast are for killing three common leads, which are Defensive Garchomp, Landorus-Therian, and Ferrothorn, who are OHKO'd and 2HKO'd with the respective move. The God of Thunder has a lot of work to do to keep this team afloat, but believe me, it can.

GustavTheGreat (Diggersby) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Huge Power
Shiny: Yes
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Frustration
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Quick Attack

Diggersby is the team's main offensive powerhouse that blows right through the walls, and is a really underrated Pokemon in general. At first glance it might not seem like much, but with it's ability Huge Power, it's capable of breaking through physically defensive Pokemon, and downright OHKOing most offensive Pokemon. I picked Diggersby because it had a cool core with Thundurus, and had Huge Power (pun). Frustration with minimum happiness is in case of Ditto. Even though Ditto is very uncommon in this metagame, you never know if you might run into one. Quick Attack is STAB Priority that finishes off weakened Pokemon. Fire Punch is used over Swords Dance because Normal + Ground isn't very good offensive coverage, and Fire Punch allows the team to easily break past Ferrothorn and bulky Grass Types, as well as hitting Steel Types like Excadrill and Skarmory for super-effective damage. Earthquake is the other STAB move Diggersby has, helping kill Rock and Steel Types. Diggersby is a titular underrated wallbreaker in this metagame in my opinion.

kyurem-black.jpg

Crystallus Rex (Kyurem-Black) @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
Mild Nature
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt
- Roost

Black Kyurem is a terrifying wallbreaker without power that even surpasses Diggersby. With the highest bulk in the game for an offensive Pokemon, and the ability to go Mixed, I originally intended it to be on my team to deal with bulky Grass Types like Celebi, Ferrothorn, and Mega Venusaur. It not only does that, but it also nukes Flying Types like Tornadus-Therian, Talonflame, and even Skarmory! Ice Beam is a STAB move that takes full control of Black Kyurem's Base 120 Special Attack and hurts even Pokemon that resist it. Earth Power helps the team deal with Magnezone and Rotom-Wash, while having good coverage. Fusion Bolt is a physical move that nukes Flying and rapes Water Types that always wreck havoc on this team, like Manaphy and Slowbro. Roost is for stable and reliable recovery. Black Kyurem is a bulky, badass wallbreaker that almost nothing can switch into.

248tyranitar1600x1200.jpg

Physical Tyranitar (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

Tyranitar is a valuable asset on my team, as it's the team's only Choice Scarf User. Tyranitar is just one of those Pokemon that will never really fall below OU, and for good reason, too; You'd best believe that Tyranitar will not die to a Special Hit, especially in the sandstorm. This combined with good physical bulk, and raw power, makes it an immediate option on this team. I picked Tyranitar because I needed a Pokemon that could defeat Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, while having offensive momentum and trapping Latios and Latias. Pursuit is for trapping the Latis, and taking care of Psychics like Scarfed Victini locked into V-Create, Crunch is for a more 'regular' Dark attacking move, Stone Edge is monstrous STAB that has a high hax chance, and Superpower guarantees that my team doesn't have a problem with Bisharp. Tyranitar is a cool shizza T-Rex.

mega_scizor_by_dashinghero-d6uwnfq.png

Nectaferius (Scizor-Mega) (F) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Defog
- U-turn
- Roost

Oh where do I begin with this guy; Mega Scizor is the glue that holds this team together. It checks and counters so many threats that would normally stomp on this team. I picked Mega Scizor because I needed a Pokemon that countered Mega Lopunny and Mega Metagross, two very powerful physical threats to this team, and the ability to remove hazards. Defog is for this. Roost is for good recovery that helps Mega Scizor stay alive throughout the whole match, U-Turn is a really powerful move (even without investment) and Bullet Punch is for STAB priority, handy in finishing off foes. Mega Scizor is an awesome Pokemon that this team absolutely needs, and it fulfills so many roles.

amoonguss.jpg

PokePenis (Amoonguss) (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Calm Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Foul Play

Behold the final member of the Hellfire Squadron, Amoonguss. Amoonguss is a surprisingly viable underrated wall that is effective in defensive, offensive and stall teams and functions in a manner similar to Mega Venusaur. Stripped to the very basics, the reason I recruited Amoonguss to the Hellfire Squadron was because I needed a reliable, surefire counter to Rotom-Wash while also providing defensive backbone. Amoonguss didn't really mind getting burned, and also had Spore + Foul Play, which was a deadly combination that is my primary method of getting rid of Physical setup sweepers like Dragonite and Bisharp. Sludge Bomb and Giga Drain are both STAB moves that do reasonable damage. Amoonguss is an underrated wall that should be considered on any Pokemon Team.

Lack Of Stealth Rock
charizard-megay.gif
talonflame-3.gif
dragonite.gif

Unfortunately this is a flaw that I can not fix, as part of the team's code. This gives many dangerous threats in OU, such as Mega Charizard Y, Defensive Talonflame, and Dragonite a chance to setup and sweep. Scarf Tyranitar can handle Mega Charizard Y and Defensive Talonflame, but will lose to Pokemon such as Weavile and Dragonite. Defensive Talonflame is especially a trouble for me, as it can defeat Kyurem-Black, Amoonguss and Scizor-Mega if fully setup.

Weather Attackers
manaphy.gif
excadrill.gif
tyranitar.gif
charizard-megay.gif
Weather Attackers really are a hindrance to my team that requires sufficient planning to take them down. Most notably is Manaphy, who can take control of the weather market by defeating Tyranitar, and then proceeding to setup and hit and/or cripple my attackers, such as Kyurem-Black and Diggersby, once Thundurus is off the field. Excadrill can take control of Tyranitar's Sand, use Earthquake or Iron Head, and kill Thundurus, Diggersby, and severely hurt Kyurem-Black this way. Since Tyranitar is so versatile, you never know what set you're gonna get. Tyranitar checks my Kyurem-Black, Thundurus, Amoonguss and can hit all six of my Pokemon for super-effective damage. Mega Charizard Y can roam free without Stealth Rock, and nuke half of my team before being killed by either Tyranitar or Thundurus.

Extremely Bulky Walls
venusaur-mega.gif
mandibuzz.gif
ferrothorn-4.gif
Extremely Bulky Walls that come in after Kyurem-Black has died, and hardwall my team. These Pokemon can generally beat Diggersby, Thundurus, and Tyranitar and wall Amoonguss. I think about certain walls such as Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, and to a lesser extent, Mandibuzz, Skarmory. I have to rely on my Thundersby core to attempt to take them out, but that doesn't work all of the time.

Yo, (Am I still supposed to rate banned user's teams? *-*)

This team is pretty interesting. I've actually also just recently built a team without Stealth Rock, and I didn't figure it out until I passed the team to a friend, and they told me. I can totally understand how you make a team, and it somehow slips your mind. Anyway, I'm going to try and make a few suggestions to, hopefully, improve this team.

Firstly, your Fighting switchins are pretty scarce. Mega-Medicham, Mega-Lopunny, Mega-Heracross, Conkeldurr all have coverage to hit your 1 Fighting resist (Amoonguss) So, that's a hole I'll try to patch. I can see the team is also a bit vulnerable to Mega-Sableye if Diggersby + Kyurem-B get burned, which is easily possible. Lastly, I can see a potential weakness to Defensive Swords Dance Mega-Scizor. So I'll try to patch that too, if I can [:

Oh, Stealth Rock are kinda important too, I'll see if I can fit them on somewhere.

Firstly, I think I can sort out the Stealth Rock issue by changing Diggersby < Landorus-T. Landorus can provide Stealth Rock, and a more reliable Fighting resist, whilst also keeping up the offensive presence via Swords Dance. Swords Dance Landorus also provides a reliable Defensive Mega-Scizor check, so Landorus-T over Diggersby fills a lot of gaps with only one change.

Next, a Mega-Sableye answer would be good. Mega-Venusaur also looks threatening, so another check to that might be good too. SpDef Bulk Up Talonlame > Thundurus is an idea. Talonflame can work as a status inflicter, as well as a win condition. Bulk Up Talonflame checks Mega-Venusaur, and beats Mega-Sableye 1v1 too.

Lastly, a small set change. Foul Play < Clear Smog on Amoonguss. This allows you to far better deal with Alt-Zone teams, as well as HP Fire Serperior.
