XY OU Heatran's Bloody Revival

Hey everybody, my Showdown name is Puffernaut and this is my first RMT, so please bear with me and most of all be honest! So getting down to business, a while ago I was laddering in OU and noticed how dominating Zard Y was to my team. This was of course devastating to my laddering because i lost to almost any team with that particular poke. So i developed a unique Zard Y counter, Scarfed Heatran. I know, I know, it used to be a thing, but judging on the amount of people caught off guard, I'd say it has become rather unique. So let's get into it.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch

Rotom-W is my usual lead, hitting other leads such as Lando-T hard with Hydro Pump. Along with it's capability to switch out on a whim using volt switch, Rotom-W is also a great user of Will-O-Wisp. I don't need to tell you how nice a burn can be against any defensive/physical threat on a team. Finally, Pain Split provides a somewhat reliable form of recovery when coupled with Leftovers. I use Rotom to beat most ground types and to put a handicap on most offensive threats. He is also a great wall to most special attackers and can take at least one special attack from most threats.

Landorus-Therian
@ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off

Landorus-T is my Rotom's partner in crime so to speak. It forms a solid U-tur/Volt Switch core with Rotom as well as covering alot of moves commonly used against Rotom. As a bonus, Landorus' weaknesses are covered by Rotom, who is a U-Turn away. The Rocky Helmet is used to put pressure on U-turn users and typing prevents simple Volt-Switching. In the event of a switch, Landorus can use that gap to set up a healthy set of Stealth Rocks. Earthquake is used to hit anything with a STAB move and Knock Off hits everything else. Landorus usually isn't required far past setting up rocks, but can still be useful for both Intimidate and just damage.

Keldeo-Resolute
@ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 SpA
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind

Keldeo is my heavy hitter in the special world. Before Heatran, I ran a choice scarf on this pretty pony but sorely noticed the lack of extra damage, so i switched back to Specs. Basically, the set allows keldeo to hit as hard as possible and outspeed the majority of the tier. I run both Hydro Pump and Scald just for situational coverage.

Scizor
@ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Atk / 196 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Defog
- Bug Bite

This penny cutting Mega Evolution combines utility with strength. With Technician, both BP and Bug Bite hit hard. Knock Off should be used to destroy walls by removing whatever item the may be using. Defog is run on this Scizor over Roost simply because I needed Defog on something for reasons to be explained a little later. Plain and simple, Scizor is a monster.

Latios
Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Roost

I use this sexy beast over his sister simply because I have always been a more offensive player (as you can probably tell so far). Latios Hits extremely hard with all of his moves and HP Fighting insures a move to take out pesky Bisharp. Defog was originally on Latios, but was removed to make room for Roost to insure a little bit of longevity, hence the Defog Mega Scizor. Latios is really just powerful and breaks down most walls including Chansey.

Heatran
@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 8 Atk / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Fire Blast
- Stone Edge
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon

Here he is, the X-Factor, the game changer, the Ace in my sleeve. Heatran Beats Talonflame and Zard Y easily with this EV spread. He resists/absorbs all common Zard Y moves and with 8 attack EVs Stone Edge OHKOs both Talonflame and Zard. I run Fire Blast simply because of power, but Flamethrower and even Heat Wave are also acceptable options. Scarfed Heatran also outspeeds Zard Y and a decent amount of the tier including Excadrill. Earth Power is used to beat other Heatrans and such threats. Fire Blast would OHKO Skarmory if it weren't for Sturdy, but it dies to rock damage anyways.

Well, that's the team that got me to 1600 in OU, please feel free to be as brutal (or positive) as you wish. Thank you all!

Hey Puffernaut cool team! This is actually a pretty solid build but I do have some suggestions that I feel would better benefit the team. First off while Rotom-W is nice for volt switching and spamming wisp I feel like that slot leaves you just too weak to HP Grass Greninja. Even with max special defensive, you are 2HKO'd on the switch by HP Grass. Greninja also threatens your team a whole lot unless you play smart with Heatran. To minimize this weakness i'd like to suggest Azumarill over Rotom-W. With an Assault Vest Azumarill becomes an amazing check to Greninja as well as Keldeo and Charizard forms to an extent. I feel that with defensive Landorus-T you really don't need Rotom-W as Birds and Sand are checked. This also gives you a nice and possibly second check to Mega Gyarados, but we'll get more into that later.

Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
Now with Landorus-T I feel that Leftovers are definitely needed. With no Wish support and the constant coming in on Bird spam and Sand Rush Excadrill, Landorus-T is easily worn down. I like the set, I like Knock Off. I feel that you require Rock Slide though as this is your Mega Pinsir and Talonflame check as the former can set up easily on the current set. I suggest Rock Slide over Stone Edge for accuracy and added PP. I'ma just twerk your EVs just a bit to be able to outspeed max speed Tyranitar, before it Mega Evolves as well as Bisharp which allows you to hit them safely with an Earthquake bar Sucker Punch from Bisharp.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 224 HP / 192 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Slide
- Stealth Rock
Choice Specs Keldeo is such a powerhouse. I feel that Icy Wind is honestly a waste of a move though as you have Mega Scizor to deal with the Lati twins and Landorus-T to deal with Dragonite. I would suggest Hidden Power [Electric] as it gives a nice Gyarados check as well as a way to hit Azumarill hard on the switch in.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Electric]
My last suggestion would be changing Bug Bite to U-turn on Mega Scizor and replacing Knock Off with Roost. Scizor is your main switch-in to dragons, specifically the Lati twins. The recovery that roost provides is irreplaceable especially with all your bulk. Knock Off is a nice option but with Aegislash gone, I feel that it can be replaced. U-turn is a nice utility move to get you out of their on the switch and go to a desired pokemon like Choice Specs Keldeo and start spamming Scald!

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Atk / 196 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Defog
- Roost

Anyway, that's all i've got! Once again cool team! Hope i helped! :]
