HEIL DOGHAWK HEIL HEIL HEIL

Hey everyone, it's ur boy The Grim Garchomp, and I'm back with another RMT for you to rate (srsly, cos i suck and i am HORRIBLE at teambuilding :P)!! Seeing the success from my newly-rated VoltTurn, I went down the ladder from 1710 to 1500 due to hax (srsly, how did I miss 4 times in a row?? GAHHH). As I had reached my peak on that team, I had to start fresh. Continuing from the old VoltTurn team i made, I give to you Team DogHawk!! (cue applause and you throwing me roses <3)

Spear (Talonflame) @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Will-o-Wisp

To start things off, we have my revenge killer, physical sweeper, speed demon, and the first part of my VoltTurn core (I know, it's not Landorus-Therian, but I will explain that, dont worry <3), Spear the Talonflame!! As it's name says, it spears through it's enemies with lightning-fast strikes, going back and forth to switch with it's partner, whom I will explain later. With a Choice Band, it's attacks are boosted to crazy heights, guaranteeing me a 2HKO almost every time. The EVs and nature allow maximum speed and power, with a bit of bulk on the side, to always hit first for the 100% revenge kill. With Brave Bird and Flare Blitz for STAB, U-Turn for momentum and to be the first part of my VoltTurn core, and Steel Wing to not be comepletely walled by Tyranitar/Mega Tyranitar, which can be a problem if I do not handle it well. All in all, Spear is my hit-and-run weapon, taking down it's opponent with fatal attacks. Changed Steel Wing to Will-o-Wisp as it screws up fast physical attackers like Dragon Dancers. Also changed Jolly nature to Adamant nature as Brave Bird is already priority +1, and Spear is already fast enough to deal with most, and my other pokemon can deal with the faster ones.

Streak (Manectric) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightning Rod
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]

As my special sweeper, speed demon, and the second part of my VoltTurn core, it's Streak the Manectric!! Having had problems with Bisharp on my earlier VoltTurn teams, Intimidate VoltTurn just wasnt working for me, due to Bisharp being SO common. As Mega-Manectric is easier to build around than Landorus-T (you dont build around Lando-T, you will around something WITH Lando-T :P), I decided to scrap the cat and put in Talonflame, as shown before. With Lightningrod, I can counter other Mega-Manectric and get a nice SpAtk boost, allowing me to get a boosted Volt Switch or a nuke from Overheat/Thunderbolt. Also, the EVs and nature help the Lightningrod ability to make sure I always go first(assuming I outspeed :P). With Thunderbolt for STAB, Overheat for Ferrothorns, Scizors and grass-types, HP Ice for dragons and Volt Switch for momentum, Streak will wreck you so fast there will be nothing but a streak left of your pokemon.

Luma (Clefable) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled

To make the most out of my VoltTurn team, i needed a hazard setter, while being a nice attacker at the same one, while also being bulky. Amazingly, one pokemon fit ALL of those categories. Meet my hazard setter, bulky attacker and mixed wall, Luma the Clefable!! With Magic Guard I can tank statuses like Toxic and render it useless, which could have been a big problem to my team(residual damage from statuses as I VoltTurn eventually resorts in my loss, from what I had learnt from my earlier VoltTurn team :P). At the same time, I can help MY VoltTurn team with the residual damage from Stealth Rock, as I make the enemy force-switch to counter my VoltTurn. EVs and Nature help fill in the "bulky" part of my criteria, and Moonblast and Flamethrower allows Luma to not be Taunt bait, and counters DDnite pretty well, as well as Ferrothorn. To be honest, Luma is simply..out of this world. (cue applause from that pun <3)

Junkjet (Latios) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog

To work with my speedy VoltTurn core I needed a defogger that could synergize well with my team. And for that, I have Junkjet the Latios!! With a Life Orb, SpAtk and speed EVs, and Timid Nature under it's wing, not many pokemon can resist a Draco Meteor to the jaw, and for special fairy walls being losers and tanking my special attacks, I have Psyshock to hit their weaker side hard. For especially Ferrothorn (notice I have no special fire-type attackers to counter Ferrothorn as Flare Blitz from Talonflame gives me too much recoil from Iron Barbs, the Rocky Helmet, and the normal recoil), I have Hidden Power Fire to hit it (same for Scizor/Skarmory). For the 4th move, I have Roost to keep Junkjet going to hit hard and fast. All in all, Junkjet is like a force of nature, destorying all it wants and never giving those slow opponents a chance. Changed Roost to Defog as I was suggested a nice replacement to SpinDrill, so now this guy is my hazard cleaner.

Diablo (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Iron Head

Replacing Pingo the Excadrill is Diablo the Terrakion!! Needing a scarfed physical attacker that can use a strong physical steel-type attack was needed to wreck the fairies, and since Pingo was rejected (DUN DUN DUNNN) I decided to use Iron Head Terrakion to fill in. With a Choice Scarf it's speed goes even HIGHER (for a big-as-hell pokemon that's a ROCK-TYPE (meaning huge diet needs O_o), it's really fast. Base 108 speed FTW!) and it guarantees me hitting first, making me wreck everything in my path if the opponent is unlucky. The EVs and nature give me the power to even OHKO FERROTHORN (which has base 131 defense, wow) with a Close Combat. Anyways, the moveset is pretty standard. Close Combat and Stone Edge for STAB and to hit Talonflame, Ferrothorn, and even Rotom-W really hard (as most as specially defensive, in fear of getting Giga Drained or sumthin like that :P), Earthquake for ground coverage that Pingo used to cover, and Iron Head to kill the fairies >;3. This thing is a true demon, and he will wreck you before you even blink.

team_aqua_s_crawdaunt_by_shadowxjamie-d5yokhv.png

Superstar (Crawdaunt) @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Crabhammer
- Aqua Jet
- Swords Dance

This guy is truly a superstar. Meet my physical sweeper, my win condition (most of the time :3) and Bisharp counter, Superstar the Crawdaunt(Cos SCREW Mr.Krabs >:3)!! After one Swords Dance, Aqua Jet is like a Giga Impact, wrecking everything with priority O_o. Life Orb, EVs, ability, and nature also boosts the Aqua Jet, causing me to actually OHKO with it. And not even FERROTHORN can wall it well. +2 LO-boosted Adaptibility 252+ Atk Knock Off destroys it, which is a big feat for this pokemon. Aqua Jet for priority, Crabhammer for super-powerful water STAB, Knock Off for powerhouse Dark STAB, and Swords Dance to make this guy go to Uber-attack heights. To put it simply, dont mess with Superstar, just forfeit and you'll be fine <3.

So there you have it, my new VoltTurn team, DogHawk!! Now it is time to list the threats!!
  1. Landorus-Therian (Well, only the scarfed set troubles me. Rock Slides Talonflame, Earthquakes Mega-Man, and Excadrill, U-Turns Latios and Crawdaunt, and only Clefable walls it. Crawdaunt can KO, but I have to sack a pokemon to do so.)

That's the only threat I have seen for now, so until next RMT, this is The Grim Garchomp, signing off.

Hi grim garchomp,

It's a nice team. But is stalled by a bulky swampert. Instead of clefable why not use a Ferrothorn with SR, power whip, leech seed and protect. It walls alot of mons while dishing out decent damage. The volt-turn core is a bit weak to defiant bisharp. Giving crawdaunt super-power solves this problem. You can remove swords dance or crabhammer as getting a hit against a faster pokemon is a bit problematic if they hit hard. Hope I helped :D

Thank you for rating, and Disciple, bulky Swampert gets KO'd from a +2 Adaptibility LO Knock Off from Crawdaunt. If FERROTHORN cant survive, what could Swampert do?? Also thanks dEnIsSsS, the Terrakion set worked perfectly, and now Bisharp is a thing of the past. Adamant nature on Talonflame also helped when I was against an opposing Talonflame (1v1) and my Brave Bird KO'd him after he went first and allowed me to survive with 4% left, allowing me to proceed to go up the ladder. However, I do not see where Rotom-W would fit on my team, so can you please specify??

P.S: Disciple, +2 Adaptibility LO Crabhammer works fine in KOing Bisharp, allowing me to proceed Aqua Jetting everything else.

That's fine then I just wanted to point it out but if you can deal with it it's fine.
