Hi, my Pokemon team is wildly unbalanced, but I don't know in what way. In OU I rank around 1250 to 1350, but I can't go up. I find that too often a Talonflame, Brave Bird Skarmory, Keldeo, Conkeldurr or Mawile wrecks my team.
I like to play defensively, which is why I have 4 walls in my team.
Dr. Dre (Medicham-Mega) @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Fake Out
- Ice Punch
- Psycho Cut
My physical attacker. I prefer Drain Punch over Hi Jump Kick on Medicham, since it's so fragile and relatively slow with a massive attack. That heal comes in handy. Fake Out is obviously vital and will wreck other glass cannons. Ice Punch is for common switch-ins like Landorus and Gliscor. I chose Psycho Cut over Zen Headbutt for the reliability and the non-contacting nature of Psycho Cut.
Biggie Smalls (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Seismic Toss
- Stealth Rock
It's my cleric. I'd switch her into Special Sweepers, and when they inevitably switch out, I take the opportunity to set up Stealth Rocks or Wish. She's also my only protection against Will-O-Wisping ghosts.
Drake (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Substitute
- Toxic
He's my toxic staller. You're probably familiar with this moveset. I've been thinking of replacing one of his moves with Knock-Off, which'd really help against Leftovers. But then again, Substitute is soooo helpful, and chances are, whoever I'm stalling is probably a physical sweeper and thus probably doesn't have Leftovers.
Kanye West (Greninja) @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Grass Knot
My only powerful Special Attacker. He leads many battles because he can cover so many types. Grass Knot provides coverage against Water Pokemon which would otherwise destroy my team.
Ice Cube (Cloyster) @ White Herb
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Blast
- Icicle Spear
- Rapid Spin
- Shell Smash
Rapid Spin is moderately useful for my team. Icicle Spear and Rock Blast are obviously in synergy with Skill Link and allow the Cloyster to take out many threats like Talonflame and Dragonite.
Eminem (Togekiss) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Roost
- Dazzling Gleam
- Air Slash
- Thunder Wave
As you can see, nothing can really take damage from Talonflame except my Gliscor and Cloyster, and yet Gliscor can't do shit against Talonflame except toxic stall, and Cloyster always gets switched on into one of its many weaknesses. Stealth Rock, Whirwind, and Brave Bird Skarmory cripples my team, and can take all my attacks except from Greninja. Keldeo... It often outspeeds my Mega-Medicham, wrecks all my 4 walls except Togekiss, and if it outspeeds my Greninja with Choice Scarf, that Greninja is gone. Conkeldurr with a few Bulk Ups can easily sweep my team, and I can rarely find a good opportunity to switch into my Medicham for a Psycho Cut. A Charizard Y wrecks my team too: Drought weakens my Greninja's Hydro Pump, and Cloyster is taken out by Solar Beam.
My only counter to Breloom is Togekiss, but then Togekiss gets Spored and Rock Tombed. Excadrill is a massive threat to all my walls and will take out at least one Pokemon before I can switch into Medicham or Greninja.
I find I rarely use Togekiss. It either is completely useless against the enemy's team, or is vital, in which case it's taken out immediately. If I were to replace any of my Pokemon, it'd be Togekiss. But then I don't have a tank against fighting types.
Please help balance my team. Or should I make a new team entirely?
