Background:
I was bored of my other team after using it for two weeks so I decided to make another one. I wanted it to be Sandstorm-esque. It relies on a bit of residual damage to score OHKO/2HKOs. However, it hasn't been working out too well against fast teams and needs help! This team loses and wins battles, but I don't think I should be losing as much as I am now.
The Team:
@ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
This guy is actually a pretty decent lead. Aerodactyl's think they can Taunt me while I hit them for 50% with Ice Fang.
@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
Choice Scarf Tyranitar has surprised many people and is usually the answer against non ScarfGar while revenge killing.
@ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 84 HP/240 Atk/184 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
I usually have this guy on everyone of my teams- due to his useful resistances and Intimidate.
@ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP/96 Def/136 SpD /24 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Extremespeed
This guy is pretty good. He is a good bulky sweeper. I previously had the 252 Atk/252 Spd one, but I would prefer its sexy four times bug/dark/rock resistances, along with the nice ice/grass/dragon ones also.
@ Brightpowder
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Fang
Haxchomp is so gay. It usually doesn't get a Swords Dance up though, which sucks... I can probably get rid of Swords Dance for something like Stone Edge and replace Brightpowder with Life Orb.
@ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 240 HP/148 Def/108 Spd/12 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Bug]
Alright this Celebi is probably my only counter to Deoxy-S. Hidden Power Bug is quite good; it still hits Tyranitar for SE while it counters Celebi and other Psychics. The IVs on Shoddy Battle are 31/18/30/31/30/31 so it retains max HP and Speed.
Candidates for the Team:
@ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 240 HP/160 Def/32 Spd/76 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Wish
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball/Hidden Power [Ice]/Icy Wind
Can possibly replace Hippowdon due to its Wish and ability to take Dragon attacks. Shadow Ball is for Starmie mainly.
@ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 160 Atk/96 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty Nature (-Def, +Spd)
- Psychic
- SuperPower
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
Awesome revenge killer. Pursuit might be an option but the are far too little moveslots for it. Takes care of the Starmie problem.
Threat List:
Tyranitar - Hippowdon, Lucario,
Gyarados - Celebi somewhat (if it lacks Ice Fang)
Infernape - Gyarados, Tyranitar can revenge kill it.
Azelf - Lucario can revenge it, as can Tyranitar.
Rhyperior - Hippowdon, has a hard time switching in to anything.
Electivire - Celebi,
Heracross - Gyarados
Salamence - Celebi
Gengar - Celebi can switch into Hypnosis while Tyranitar can revenge it.
Garchomp - The entire team needs to weaken it.
Raikou - Celebi, Garchomp.
Lucario - Gyarados can Intimidate, a couple of smart switches for the Specs moveset.
Tauros - Hippowdon, maybe Tyranitar
Starmie - I have problems with this guy!
Weavile - Lucario, Gyarados, Stealth Rock.
Dugtrio - No counters, but Dugtrio doesn't really beat my team. Only Celebi really has problems.
Alakazam - Not too many counters. Celebi for Psychic/Fighting attack, Tyranitar can pursuit it if it has specs.
PorygonZ - Mixture of weakening it. If it's Scarf, then Lucario Extremespeed should finish it.
Medicham - Gyarados.
Staraptor - :( blahblah Tyranitar revenge kill.
Slowbro - Celebi with HP Bug, repeated blows.
Machamp - Gyarados if it lacks Thunderpunch, Celebi if it lacks
Jolteon - Celebi, Garchomp for HP Grass ones (which I think are rare...) Lucario Extremespeed.
Aerodactyl - Stealth Rock and Hippowdon.
Snorlax - Beaten by a mixture of SS/SR and Tyranitar revenge killing.
Zapdos - Garchomp takes this out. Steealth Rock is useful.
Blissey - Mostly physical team and can't really do anythingto celebi.
Suicune - Garchomp 2hkos with outrage. Gyara can usually set up on it.
Sceptile - No idea. Gengar and Deoxys-S
Breloom - Breloom has never done anything against this team.
Slaking - Never seen one but the free turns it gives are appreciated.
Tangrowth - Usually comes out to meet Aero, gets taunted and eventually gives me an easy switch to Gar.
Ninjask - Not really anything aside from Lucario.
Metagross - Dangerous.
Heatran - Choiced ones are KO'd by Tyranitar and Garchomp.
Celebi - Annoying bastard if preserved and played well. Though my Celebi is too awesome!
Jirachi - Tyranitar should do well against special versions while physical ones are EQ'd by Hippowdon.
Deoxys-S - Celebi, but so far every Deoxys-S I've fought has haxxed the shit out of Celebi :|
This team needs a lot of revamping after playtesting for twenty or so matches (which is a lot in my opinion!)
