Hi I'm new to the competitive scene in pokemon! Played the original pokemons but just casually. Here is my first OU team!
Ferrothorn@Rocky Helmet
Ability:Iron Barb
Impish nature
EV's:252 HP/252 SpD/4 Def
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
I chose ferrothorn because I needed a stealth rock pokemon to deal with Charizard/talon flame etc. I choose ferrothorn in specific because I love how you can stack Rocky Helmet and Iron barb, easy switch in if you know your opponent is going for a physical move. Had some hilarious moments with him and M. Kangaskhan. Aside from that I have Leech seed for survivablity and his two powerful stab moves.
Vaporean@Leftovers
Ability:Water Absorb
Bold nature
EV's:252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD
- Toxic
- Scald
- Protect
- Wish
This is my staller. In case ferrothorn has to face a fire pokemon, I know I can switch to Vaporean to take the hit and just regain it back through Wish protect PLUS LEFTOVER. I also love toxic since I just have to outlast them and just watch there pokemon slowly die. Scald for the stab and for the chance of burn is really nice too!
Togekiss@King's rock
Ability:Serene Grace
Modest nature
EV's:252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD
- Air Slash
- Thunderwave
- Baton Pass
- Nasty Plot
Once I found out about how togekiss can paraflinch someone I instantly had to have it on my team. Just watching your opponent not being able to attack is hilarious. I recently changed my togekiss to be a bit bulkier, but I'm not too sure if I should have invested some Speed EVs. I had togekiss learn Nasty Ploy and Baton Pass just so that I can easily pass the boosted SpA to either Vaporean or M. Ampharos. Togekiss also allows Ampharos to easily be switched out if I can predict an Earthquake.
M.Ampharos@Ampharosite
Ability:Mold Breaker
Modest nature
EV's:252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD
- Dragon Pulse
- Charge Beam
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
He is just so... fabulous... Once I saw his mega form I just had to have him on my team. I dont some research and realize he is not really the best mega because of his lack of speed, so I tried to make him bulky. I made it learn Charge beam to increase its spA even more though debating about this because of the low base 50 dmg it does. I have Dragon pulse for the stab. Rest and sleep talk to it can just recover all its hp then still be able to attack!
Haxorus@Lum Berry
Ability:Mold Breaker
Adamant nature
EV's:252 Atk/252 Spe/4 SpD
- Poison Jab
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
I realized I didn't have any physical attackers on my team and don't want to be walled off. So I choose Haxorus. There isn't much explanation of why I picked Haxorus... I really just thought it looks cool and just thought of picking him. Debating if I should still pick him or not.
Lucario@Life Orb
Ability:Inner Focus
Adamant nature
EV's:252 Atk/252 Spe/4 SpD
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Close Combat
I initially wanted to use M. Lucario because of Adaptability but I choose M. Ampharos over it. So I still have a Lucario because I realize half my team is weak to ice... so I want to be able to switch Lucario in to tank the hit and hopefully go for a sweep with sword dance and all its other skills.
My team is mostly just a team of pokemon I like! Give me any thoughts and tips on this team. I'm still debating about the pokemons in it... Cuz my team is kinda stall team but not really... Its kind of all over the place. I'm currently also making a Scizor to replace haxorus maybe... Any advice and suggestions are much appreciated!!
