Team Overview
Hey everyone
so I've been running this team on shoddy for a while, and its experienced moderate success, but i feel like it could use some changes! I'm also building it as my wifi team, hence why the natures aren't all perfect! So, any insight anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance!
Empoleon @Focus Sash
Nature: Bashful
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 156 HP / 252 SpA / 100 Spe
* Hydro Pump
* Aqua Jet
* Stealth Rock
* Grass Knot
When looking over all the lead choices, i thought that Empoleon would, without a doubt, be an asset to this team. While boasting an excellent typing combination, it is also bulky enough to withstand many opening offensive moves and quick enough to set up stealth rocks no problem. Also, Grass knot allows it to deal damage to any water types that may appear.
Electivire @Expert Belt
Nature: Brave
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
* ThunderPunch
* Ice Punch
* Cross Chop
* Earthquake
Electivire was a definite choice for my follow up to Empoleon. Having Empoleon attract any Electric Attacks leaves plenty room for an easy Electivire switch in, to give it the motor drive boost. Also, having a variety of attacks leaves Electivire extremely versatile, able to take on a plethora of different pokemon.
Snorlax @Leftovers
Nature: Careful
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 168 HP / 120 Def / 220 SpD
* Curse
* Body Slam
* Selfdestruct
* Fire Punch
When building the team, I wanted to include a pokemon who while being extremely durable, also had enough power to cause damage, with this in mind, the only option i saw that i liked was Snorlax. Body slam gives the chance of paralyzing the foe, while also having the option of selfdestruct if all else fails.
Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Atk / 228 Def
* Will-O-Wisp
* Pain Split
* Ice Punch
* ThunderPunch
There are two main reasons for me including this guy on the team:
1) The rapid spin blocker.
2) Absorbing any fighting attacks that may come Snorlax's way.
While doing both of these jobs effectively, Dusknoir also acts as a nuisance by burning the other team, with will-o-wisp, while sporting two of the elemental punches, giving it more leeway against a wider variety of foes.
Salamance @Life Orb
Nature: Naive
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 232 Atk / 24 SpA / 252 Spe
* Dragon Dance
* Outrage
* Earthquake
* Fire Blast
Salamance, while being a very effective sweeper (and still OU for now!) has another purpose on the team. If Empoleon opens to a grass type, Salamance is an easy switch in to deal effectively and keep Empoleon a viable option for latter on in the Battle. Also, is easily capable of sweeping an unprepared team.
Mamoswine @Leftovers
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 244 Atk / 64 SpA / 200 Spe
* Earthquake
* Blizzard
* Ice Shard
* Stone Edge
Finally, Mamoswine does the job of luring and killing physical walls. With this moveset, it effectively uses both its powerful attack and special attack stats. Mamoswine also helps finish off any dragons that may appear during the match. Also, boasting earthquake and stone edge help deal effectively with fire type threats.
Let me know what you think!
Cheers,
