Every time I have to do work, I try to find something unproductive to do instead.
I've recently had a lot of time where I was supposed to be working, so I've therefore come up with lots of ways to be unproductive.

In this thread, I'm asking all users of Smogoff what their preferred method of slacking off on the job is, as well as asking for ideas about new and innovative ways to kill time.

Any type of slacking off is welcome - I want to hear all your methods. But I'll give you bonus points for methods that:
- don't require internet connection/technology use
- can be done inconspicuously
- don't require setup and can be done quickly (a 5 minute slack is just as good as a 2 hour slack)
- are very fun

I'll mention some of my methods first:
- smogon/showdown on phone
- sleeping (not really my style, but I have a friend who is a very big advocate of this method)
- stealing stand-up comedy jokes and telling them to coworkers
- listening to coworkers steal stand-up jokes and tell them
- hanging from heavy machinery as the operator lifts the bucket/forklift forks (heehee forklift. generally driven by an equally lazy coworker, not a chimchar)
- balancing one-legged on stuff like piles of bricks or heavy machinery
At white collar jobs I also have stuff like:
- google dinosaur game
- checking my email 45 times an hour
- making drawings in ms paint

Please smogoffers, help me diversify my methods.

P.S. Don't say that you could tell I was a slacker........... very hurtful :psycry:

I could very easily tell you were a slaking. Also, the easiest way to slack off is to find random things in the world and wonder which would win in a fight (animate or inanimate). You see (insert name/thing) over there, actually doing their/its job? Would they be able to beat (insert name/thing) in a battle if both were sentient?

goku wud win he ib the strongedt

you should try modding smogoff and posting. You've been on a hiatus for ages so if you really need to slack off than do your second job that Chaos pays you for.

i'll give it a try one of these days

unfortunately working in the middle of a field and having my data plan price hiked is the reason that "no internet connection" was a requirement

You've... already covered everything I could think of. Especially when I'm at the actual office site and the work network blocks "gaming" websites like Smogon and Showdown (but not Discord!)

Personally I like to have some thoughts going around ahead of time, prepared to daydream about more interesting things later. This can be done anywhere and even when not working, but it's best to think about things while moving in some way so it's harder to suspect and doesn't look like you're just lost in thoughts. Some arm stretching is also generally tolerated, though it's not expected to last very long. Technology-wise you can always make boxes by dragging around on the desktop on Windows.

i often find myself scrolling through twitter a lot, even when i run out of tweets to read on my homepage i go to the explore tab to see if anything fits my fancy
