Hey, I'm somewhat new to online competative battling and I'm aware that this team is far from perfect. It be great if I could get some suggestions on how to make it better.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
I usually lead off with feorthorn, unless there is a good reason not to, in order to get the stealth rocks out. It generally is able to stay around for a while and inflict paralysis and occaisonally KO something. The only thing I wish it had is rapid spin. For this reason, I'm considering switching it with forretress, but have not because of it's lower special defence.
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock
This is pretty much a standard life orb set. I use hidden power fire to deal with ferrothorns and scizors. Draco meteor works as a last resort, but the lack of choice specs is noticable. However, I like the versitality life orb brings and that's what I have latios for in the first place. I am considering using dragon dance dragonite with fire punch instead.
Rotom-Wash @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
The reason I use Expert Belt instead of choice specs is in order to trick specs rotom-wash's counters into comming in and then suprising them with hidden power ice. If they see a volt switch it usually convinces them that its choice specs. It's worked quite a bit but I'm still not sure if the power drop is worth it.
Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Just a standard landorous set. It's worker relliably and I've had few issues with it, except for stone edge missing at inconvinient times.
Infernape @ Life Orb
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Mach Punch
I use Infernape as a mixed attacker in order to get through walls and also as a late game sweeper if it's still alive by then. U-turn is to do at least some damage to things that resist overheat and fighting moves such as latios or latias.
Gyarados @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature
- Rest
- Dragon Tail
- Roar
- Waterfall
This set usually catches people off guard as they are expecting a dragon dance sweeper. It's really meant to halt physical sweepers threating my team , plow through subsitutes and to try to rack up stealth rock damage. Dragon tail is effective with dragonite and salamance as they set up dragon dance, especially when stealth rock is up. Rest helps with getting rid of status.
So there you go. I know this teams not perfect and suggestions would be welcomed.
