Hi guys, recently i decided i wanted to make a team with zoroark in it. However i've been having troubles with it and i was hoping you guys could help me to improve it.
Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Intimidate
Evs: 200 Hp / 64 Att / 244 Def
Adamant
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
Landorus is my physical wall, acting as a defensive pivot. The evs were ripped off from somewhere. I use landorus to tank non SE moves, as well as to dodge earthquake as he is the only one with consistent ground immunity. U-turn is for gaining momentum, stealth rock can be easily used as he causes switches frequently. Edgequake for coverage as he still hits hard even without max investment due to his monstrous attack.
Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Justified
Evs: 252 Spa / 252 Spd / 4 Spd
Timid
- Surf
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Hp Ice
Keldeo is my water resist, as well as one of the revenge killers on my team. Before this i had Haxorus on this slot with sub, dd and lum berry but it never seemed like i could find a chance to switch in with him, due to his pathetic defenses. Not to mention i had trouble with fire pokemon due to a lack of water moves. So i changed him to this guy. Surf is for when i cant afford to miss, secret sword is for the fighting stab as well as for pokemon like chansey, hydro pump for more power when required and hp ice for revenging dragons.
Espeon @ Light Clay
Magic Bounce
Evs: 252 Hp / 252 Spd / 4 Spa
Timid
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Psychic
- Baton Pass
At first, this slot was filled by starmie as a rapid spinner to keep rocks off the field. However, i found that starmie rarely got a chance to rapid spin, and even if it did it would lose me momentum. As such i considering going to magic bounce users such as Xatu and Espeon. After some consideration, i decided to use espeon as i didn't really need an ice and electric weakness on the team. I didn't want to use the calm mind set as i found i had too many set up sweepers already, so i decided to make it the dual screens set as my 2 sweepers are extremely fragile. 252 hp evs is to make it be able to take hits better, while 252 speed and timid speed is to ensure it can get screens up as fast as possible, especially when you're setting it up in front of a physical attacker as espeon has crappy def. Dual screens is standard, psychic is for stab as well as for fighting pokemon as i do not have any other psychic moves for them. Baton pass here is to retain momentum, being sort of a replacement for u-turn, as well as to be able to escape pursuit users.
Zoroark @ Life Orb
Illusion
Evs: 40 Att/ 216 Spa / 252 Spd
Timid
- Nasty Plot
- Sucker Punch
- Focus Blast
- Dark Pulse
Zoroark is one of my sweepers, focusing on the special side of the spectrum.Evs were ripped off from somewhere, 40 att is to ensure the ko on gengar and latios and the like. Nasty plot is for the insane increase in damage, after one boost zoroark can take out many pokemon with one dark pulse. Sucker Punch is stab priority, and priority is always good. Focus Blast is for coverage and Dark Pulse is for main stab attack. Normally i have this guy masquerading as Infernape, as they both take the same amount of damage from hazards and weather. Infernape can also go nasty plot, so the opponent will not suspect anything.
Heatran @ Air Balloon/ Leftovers
Flash Fire
Evs: 252 Spa / 252 Spd / 4 Hp
Timid
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Solar Beam
- Sunny Day
Heatran is here to absorb fire attacks, as well as to help control the weather. Fire blast is for stab, which hits like a truck in sun. Earth power is for opposing heatran and acts as another ground move because i only have one ground move from Landorus-T. Solar Beam is to cause trouble to opposing weather starters after using sunny day. I'm still debating between leftovers and air balloon. Air balloon gives another much needed ground immunity, albeit for a while. However leftovers gives useful recovery, especially when walling sun teams. Not to mention, when i use heatran to control the weather, there are times when he just gets his balloon popped to change to weather, which got me thinking if it wasn't suited for his role. Other items im considering would be Shuca Berry for the earth power from opposing heatran.
Infernape @ Life Orb
Iron Fist
Evs: 252 Att / 252 Spd / 4 Hp
Jolly
- Mach Punch
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
Infernape is my physical sweeper. Usually if i send out infernape first and manage to pull off a swords dance, the enemy will be surprised later on in the game when i use dark pulse as zoroark. Jolly Nature for maximum speed, Mach punch for priority such as terrakion. Flare Blitz is for stab attack, which hurts a lot in sun. However, i was thinking whether to change it to fire punch. Although the decrease in power is noticeable, it can still get an increase in power from iron fist, and it improves his lifespan as he is already insanely fragile. Coupled with life orb and recoil from flareblitz, he can be revenged easily. Close combat is for standard coverage and fighting stab, while swords dance is for boosting.
I would really appreciate any advice on my team!
