I'm completely new to this site and all of it's principles.
I was only drawn here by the prospects of having my first wi-fi battle with a stranger and the idea of being in a tournament.

The problem is I don't know where to look or where to start, I either need a friend or some sound advice, I feel like a lost puppy...

Start by looking at the Announcements at the top of the page. Like this one: http://www.smogon.com/forums/announcement.php?f=25&a=42

Then read the Rules stickies so you know the rules of the individual sub-forum.

Look for where you might need to post by the description of the sub-forum. For example, you're probably looking for "Wi-Fi".
