This is an ubers team I've been fiddling with since the start of XY. Actually, that's a lie, it's a second team I tried. Last gen, I used a stall team based on the theme of spamming dragon tail onto hazards. I tried it this gen but it just wasn't as fun. A couple of tweaks later, I had a team of sweepers with a couple of bulky walls and then a couple of bulky attackers turned the team from hyper offense to bulky offense. This team covers most threats, and usually one or two can stack some KO's and pull off a win.
Dialga @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Flash Cannon
This is my lead, merely because of it has awesome stab typing against large parts of the ubers tier. coverage. It has one purpose in the fight, KO the opponent's lead. More and more lately I've been seeing taunt leads, this thing just laughs in their face and fires off a stab dragon pulse or flash cannon off a 650 odd attack stat with the choice specs and it's goodnight lead, barring sash. The only real threat it faces as a lead is a max speed Groudon and Blaziken (that I've come across). Whether it uses flash cannon or dragon pulse depends on what I think the opponent will send in next. It is not vital to my team, so I'm more than happy to let it soak up sleep. If I can switch it out and have it come back later to wreak more havoc, then that's great, but I never bank on it.
Arceus @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Recover
- Shadow Claw
- Swords Dance
I love E-killer, I've been using it since last gen and steel becoming neutral to ghost was nothing but a blessing. 444 hp means it can take quite a few hits, and recover means it just won't die easily. Swords dance and extreme speed means I can hit most things like a truck, and shadow claw means I show ghost types a horrible time. I'm using a silk scarf over a life orb because longevity is nice.
Mewtwo-Mega-Y @ Mewtwonite Y
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psystrike
- Ice Beam
- Aura Sphere
Now, I could have used a life orb, and had it hit slightly harder, but those few extra hit points can make a difference, and it's a little quicker. Calm mind isn't used often, but when it fires one off it becomes a complete monster capable of OHKOing everything but the strongest special walls. Wide coverage between it's moves means it doesn't have many safe switch ins.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 200 HP / 252 SDef / 56 Def
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
This set is my own creation, as far as I can tell, and I am so blinded by pride that I can't see a single fault with it. There was a point in time where Xerneas would set up and sweep my entire team, every time, and I got frustrated. Specially defensive Ferrothorn can survive 2 +2 Moonblasts with about 16% hp left, as well 2KO Xerneas with Gyro Ball. Hazards are nice, they make KO's that much easier to grab. Power whip hits other things hard. Rocky helm + iron barbs means I can put a nice dent in a few things, kind of like an aftermath but Ferro might survive.
Ho-Oh @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sacred Fire
- Earthquake
- Roost
Don't knock all the EV's being in SDef, they have saved my bacon. It survived a Palkia's surf after and still had enough HP to KO it with brave bird (it had like 20 something percent health left). This thing hardly gets dented by most special sweepers and hits them like a truck. Regenerator means it's a pain to kill, leftovers because HP is important. I bought this thing in because I'm sick of Aegislash being a pain after all my other counters (Diagla) had been KO'd.
Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Thunderbolt
- Psyshock
I've complained about this thing a couple of times, and it's so broken that it's fun to use. Remove phazers and counters, switch in on a dragon move, set up Geomancy, sweep teams. It's not complicated, moonblast damages everything, thunderbolt hits steels and Psyshock is for the rare pink blob. If it gets switched, it's not completely ruined, but it becomes mediocre.
So that's my team. It's been near the 1800 mark on showdown, I want it to be higher. Help would be appreciated.
