I'm new here obviously do to this being my first post here. I've always known and used Smogon for making my different teams in the past, singles strictly. Now though with the new year of VGC coming up and once again it's doubles, so I need help with making a doubles team. This is what I have so far and I've tried at least to compile two teams out of the six pokes allowed.

Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability:Drizzle
EVs:252SpAtk/252Hp/4Def
Nature:Modest
- Water Spout
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Thunder Wave
This Kyogre is basically a lead get the drizzle up and help out my two other pokes that go with him.

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Ability:Dry Skin
EVs:252Atk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Jolly
- Cross Chop
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out
- Protect
Kyogre's and Mewtwo's partner in crime fake out major threats and Kyogre hits them were it hurts t-wave or waterspout and Mewtwo can safely taunt with out worry. Then he can do whatever he wants from there.

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability:Swift Swim
EVs:80Atk/252Spa/176Spe
Nature:Mild
- Surf
- Waterfall
- Draco Meteor
- Outrage
Finishes whats left i would suppose.

Mewtwo @ Leftovers
Ability:Pressure
EVs:252SpAtk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Timid
- Taunt
- Psychic
- Aura Sphere
- Ice Beam
Focus on those that I know will try to trick room or some other crap. After that task just totally let him loose on whoever and whomever.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Ability:Levitate
EVs:252Spatk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Modest
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Explosion
Just a filler for the fourth spot I need to fill.

No Final spot cause I honestly don't know what to put there to be honest with you all. I need a lot of help here if I need to take a poke out and put one in then by all means tell me cause I have no problem changing Pokemon for a better one.

The team should be setup as
Kyogre/Toxicroak/Kingdra/Gengar or Other
Mewtwo/Toxicroak/Gengar/Other

Thanks to all that can help me and hopefully I don't have to meet any of you guys at the tournament.

If you don't like the low speed battle between you rself and groudon (esp) then your offensive kyogre lead is perfectly viable. However, I advice you have protect over thunder wave. As for toxicroak, it makes a very nice lead so I am happy with this particular pokemon. Mixed kingdra is nice...due to his incredibly fast speed, I guess protect may not be needed (though it isn't a bad idea to always have protect on pretty much every teammate). Mewtwo...I understand that your idea of anti-trick room act but I feel like this uber spot can be really be used for the better. I would say at this point, it may not be a bad idea to have taunt on toxicroak and not fake out (hell be fast enough to taunt out the trick room abusers). And then, I would advice you to have mewtwo switch out for Palkia, who is really imho a must on rain teams.

EDIT: Ah and surf instead of water sprout (you don't have scarf...surf will be much better) Oh and you can even have a wacan berry...actually, I believe wacan would be much better esp without water sprout and 2 turn thing in the vgc. Outrage sucks in VGC btw :D so replace outrage for kingdra

Changes in bold, explanations follow. Btw, VGC enforces Item Clause, so keep that in mind.

Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability:Drizzle
EVs:252SpAtk/252Hp/4Def
Nature:Modest
- Surf - I'm not a fan of Water Spout, since it's dependent on your HP. With Croak, you get extra longevity with Dry Skin.
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Protect - Thunder has a 30% chance to Paralyze, so you don't need T-Wave. Lead Ogre is also a prime target for Fake Out, so be careful of that if you use Water Spout
This Kyogre is basically a lead get the drizzle up and help out my two other pokes that go with him.

Toxicroak @ Life Orb

- Protect

Pretty standard IMO

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability:Swift Swim
EVs:80Atk/252Spa/176Spe
Nature:Mild
- Surf
- Waterfall
- Draco Meteor
- Protect
Finishes whats left i would suppose.

This looks good too - you don't need two of the same type of move though; Waterfall and Surf are fine since they both have a role on a Kingdra. Outrage randomly targets one of your opponent's Pokemon, so don't count on it giving you the KO you need.

Mewtwo @ Leftovers
Ability:Pressure
EVs:252SpAtk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Timid
- Protect
- Psychic
- Aura Sphere
- Ice Beam
Focus on those that I know will try to trick room or some other crap. After that task just totally let him loose on whoever and whomever.

Protect over Taunt - if you want something to stop Trick Room with Taunt, Mewtwo would be better off as a lead. Your best chance is trying to kill the Trick Room user early though, but that assumes your opponents don't use Follow Me. Dunno about Psychic, but I can't think of anything to replace it.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Ability:Levitate
EVs:252Spatk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Modest
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Thunderbolt
- Explosion
Just a filler for the fourth spot I need to fill.

Looks good. Sludge Bomb over Focus Blast IMO - it'll allow you to hit the very common Ludicolo

No Final spot cause I honestly don't know what to put there to be honest with you all. I need a lot of help here if I need to take a poke out and put one in then by all means tell me cause I have no problem changing Pokemon for a better one.

If you have a Ghost type, use something like Metagross as a partner. The resistance to Explosion it provides will deter your opponent from using it, since they won't want to sacrifice one of theirs and fail to kill one/both of yours (depending on leads)

The team should be setup as
Kyogre/Toxicroak/Kingdra/Gengar or Other
Mewtwo/Toxicroak/Gengar/Other

Some things I would look at for this team are Resist Berries. Rain is going to be quite popular IMO, since it's so easy to build. I've found that Kyogre/Dialga/Palkia/Groudon are the top used Ubers (at least, from the tourneys I've played on Skarmbliss and smogonwifi.) This year, the Ubers are going to be the main focus of the team, and the other spots are going to be filled by support Pokemon or Pokemon that check common strats (like using a Steel or Ghost type against the opponent's Explosion+Ghost/Explosion+Steel)

I would recommend putting Grass Knot on Mewtwo. If you make Mewtwo your lead, you can taunt TR users and Grass Knot T-Tar/Groudon/Kyogre who try to set up weather. Ice Beam has more coverage, but not too many Pokemon used in VGC are weak to ice (most dragons bar Ray have a second type that nullifies it). Psychic can also be removed, but STAB from 150 Sp Attack will hurt more. Don't bother w/ status, as VGC is very fast paced, and while you set it up, your Kyogre will ahve lost a nice chunk of HP.

Ive made some following changes to the team after hearing the comments, changes in bold.

Kyogre @ Wacan Berry
Ability:Drizzle
EVs:252SpAtk/252Hp/4Def
Nature:Modest
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Protect
Wacan over leftovers since I need to get rid of some stuff

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Ability:Dry Skin
EVs:252Atk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Jolly
- Cross Chop
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out/Taunt
- Protect
Fake out or taunt goes on if I choose Mewtwo or Palkia

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability:Swift Swim
EVs:80Atk/252Spa/176Spe
Nature:Mild
- Surf
- Waterfall
- Draco Meteor
- Protect
Didn't know outrage chose at random, so I'll go with protect here.

Mewtwo @ Leftovers
Ability:Pressure
EVs:252SpAtk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Timid
- Protect
- Psychic
- Aura Sphere/Grass Knot
- Ice Beam
I like croak as a taunter better since most will focus attacks on Mewtwo here, Palkia sounds like a really nice addition. An aura sphere call me crazy, but the only poke it hits hard is maybe smeargle call me crazy though.

OR

Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Ability:Pressure
EVs:252Spatk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Timid
- Surf
- Special Rend
- Thunder
- Fire Blast???????

Simple and common I guess though fire blast is dangerous I know with rain up but i can see some trouble with zongs. Any suggestions on this one.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Ability:Levitate
EVs:252Spatk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Modest
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Thunderbolt
- Explosion
I like the idea of sludge bomb over focus punch and from past experience focus blast always lets me down lol

I did some research and found that these three steels could do pretty nicely.

Scizor/Metagross/Magnezone

I didn't post a moveset cause I'm not sure who i should pick. I like Scizor cause i feel he loves the rain the most, but he can't really be as strong though since their is little time for him to sword dance up and what not.

I still need to get rid of some items and change them to comply with item clause

Going to italicize my thoughts/explanations

Ive made some following changes to the team after hearing the comments, changes in bold.

Kyogre @ Wacan Berry
Ability:Drizzle
EVs:252SpAtk/252Hp/4Def
Nature:Modest
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Protect
Wacan over leftovers since I need to get rid of some stuff

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Ability:Dry Skin
EVs:252Atk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Jolly
- Cross Chop - You can't get it yet unless you trade with someone who has a Japanese cart, but once you get HG/SS, replace this with Low Kick to lol @ Dialga.
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out/Taunt
- Protect
Fake out or taunt goes on if I choose Mewtwo or Palkia

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability:Swift Swim
EVs:80Atk/252Spa/176Spe
Nature:Mild
- Surf
- Waterfall
- Draco Meteor
- Protect
Didn't know outrage chose at random, so I'll go with protect here.

Mewtwo @ Leftovers
Ability:Pressure
EVs:252SpAtk/252Spd/4Hp
Nature:Timid
- Protect
- Psychic - If you can get your hands on a 3rd Gen Mewtwo with good IV's, I'd give it SelfDestruct over Psychic - as an offensive typing, Psychic sucks...though you're guaranteed to OHKO toxicroak with Psychic. :)
- Aura Sphere/Grass Knot - I'd try Aura Sphere AND Grass Knot. Aura Sphere can hit Dialga/Smeargle, and Ice Beam works for Giratina.
- Ice Beam
I like croak as a taunter better since most will focus attacks on Mewtwo here, Palkia sounds like a really nice addition. An aura sphere call me crazy, but the only poke it hits hard is maybe smeargle call me crazy though.

OR

Palkia @ Lustrous Orb - Haban Berry IMO; Palkia's a beast, yes, but if it doesn't get to do anything, it's useless. Palkia's only got one weakness, and Haban covers it. :)
Ability:Pressure
EVs:252Spatk/252Spd/4Hp

Rule 3 said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

You need to improve on your descriptions. Have a look at some of the teams in the RMT archive to see what is expected. Try and stay away from 1-2 line descriptions. Explain why you chose a Pokemon, what it does, how does it contribute to the success of the team, etc. If you fix the descriptions properly, PM me the changes and I'll unlock your thread.
