Help with first OU Team

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Shadow Sneak
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance

Aegislash is one of my two physical sweepers. He eats toxic, sets up on a lot of defensively invested pokemon with swords dance and goes to work. I don't really know what else there is to say he's pretty straightforward. The fact that I have Azumarill means I also have an easy method to deal with his Fire Weakness

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Thunder Wave
- Stone Edge

Stealth Rock Setter, Phases set ups, Has Thunderwave to bring more utility and Stone Edge to 1hko Galvantula leads and do serious damage in general. Currently leading with him unless I expect a counter or I can force a switch for a free Dance with Volc or Aegi. Has SpD EVs for greater versatility since his DEF is already solid enough to take hits.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Leech Seed
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis

Mega Venausaur is the true wall on my team. Runs a standard set and can switch into tons of things. Tanks a huge number of mons, hits fairy types hard, and is a pain to deal with in general. The only thing I'm seeing that hits him hard are Earthquake users and boosted mons so I'm finding him really easy to just put in at any time.
250px-637Volcarona.png

Volcarona @ Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Fiery Dance
- Quiver Dance
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz

My go to special sweeper right now. Fiery dance is standard stab, Giga drain is for when I predict a swap into a ground or water type that would resist fiery dance. Bug Buzz is a useful STAB that destroys psychics and dark types, and Quiver Dance is for when I force a switch into someone who takes my attacking moves neutrally. The stealth rock weakness hurts though.

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 168 HP / 84 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower

My other physical sweeper. Finishes off weakened foes with Aqua Jet. Has Play Rough and Waterfall for the insane STAB damage, and Superpower to instagib vulnerable mons. Bulk and good typing lets me switch into a variety of things just poke holes in people.

My last slot is where I'm not sure who I should put in. Currently I've been testing:
250px-380Latias.png

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Psyshock

In general it's going okay as Defog lets me get Volcarona into fights later in the game and Latias can hit pretty hard but I'm not really satisfied with it in general. I've also tested Deoxys-S and Jolteon, neither of which I ended up liking at all. I don't have a physical wall right now(since my Tyranitar is SpD invested so he can lead more reliably), maybe I should get one with rapid spin for my last slot? Any suggestions? I'm pretty new to this in general.

Hey there,

This team could definitely use some more offensive power; the team fails to cover some significant type combinations, leaving you susceptible to being "walled" purely by type advantage and unable to break past even offensive teams. In this regard, Flying-types seem really threatening. Mega Pinsir / Mega Charizard Y / Gyarados could easily land huge blows in this team not only because they hit your Pokemon super effectively but because you also lack specific coverage to target and handle those threats. Volcarona also gets a lot more breathing room with the removal of those threats, and the team in general works a lot more efficiently.

The best you can do here is change Latias into LO Latios.

Latios @ Life Orb
Timid nature
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Defog

Latias's main function really compounds with that of Mega Venusaur in your team. Most special attackers are covered by Mega Venusaur, and the rest are covered by Tyranitar. Because of this, you won't lose much defensive backbone by making the switch from defensive to offensive. The biggest and most important difference is that of offensive power and coverage; LO Latios poses significant offensive pressure and can easily serve as a cleaner late game or a wallbreaker during the early stages. Thunderbolt here helps solve your Flying-type problems a lot, as it lets Latios easily check Mega Charizard Y and Mega Pinsir, both of which are outsped and OHKOd by the move. Draco Meteor and Psyshock then also become a lot more powerful, helping Latios clean up after Volcarona sweeps. Defog stays to remove Stealth Rock that threatens Volcarona.

Tyranitar I think could also definitely use a bit more offensive power. Mega V handles a lot of the special attackers that Tyranitar handles, so you can definitely use a more offensive spread of 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDef Adamant on Tyranitar and not suffer from being overpowered. I would definitely try Rock Slide over Stone Edge just to have extra assurance against Talonflame, who is otherwise really threatening to the team. Crunch and Pursuit over Roar / TWave is also extremely necessary just so that you can nail Psychic- and Ghost-types.

Aegislash would probably be better off as just a regular attack in my opinion. Your team doesn't create enough offensive openings for something as slow as Aegislash to come in and set up, especially since Aegislash has such a key role in absorbing Flying-type attacks and walling Terrakion. Try Shadow Ball and Spooky Plate instead of Swords Dance / Lefties on Aegislash; Shadow Ball hits really hard and is perfect for smashing those glass cannons that are going to be coming in to stop Volc. It's a more consistent form of damage and doesn't require setup in order to use well. Obviously, a spread investing in SpA instead of Atk would be preferable as well, though you could also keep your current spread with just Brave instead of Adamant to keep power for Shadow Ball.

Finally, Leftovers instead of Life Orb on Volc because Sand will wear you down and Volc needs to be able to recover from attacks that it sponges as it sets up.

Good luck!

Try Shadow Ball, Flash Cannon, and Spooky Plate instead of Swords Dance / Sacred Sword / Lefties on Aegislash; Shadow Ball hits really hard and is perfect for smashing those glass cannons that are going to be coming in to stop Volc, and Flash Cannon hits Fairies and Rock types much harder. Good luck!

How much SpA investment would I need in that situation and what threats would I be looking to tag with Shadow Ball?

I thought it over, Sacred Sword is actually definitely a thing to keep, especially since it hits Rock-types and Bisharp harder, which is way more important.

So to answer your question, 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpA Brave is best with Shadow Ball over Swords Dance. Basically just use Shadow Ball as reliable STAB; it hits real hard without requiring boosts and deals solid damage to everything (Thundy, Rotom, Lati@s, Keldeo) Sacred Sword should be used to nail Rock-types and Bisharp.

You could also use 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA Quiet to power up Shadow Ball, as Sacred Sword still OHKOs Terrakion iirc I'll have to check
