I needed a little help with my "6th gen team" (No 6th gen pokemon, but playing vs 6th gen). All help appreciated!
Core:
Rotom wash, Modest @choice scarf
ability: levitation
100 EV HP ; 252 EV sp att ; 156 EV speed
Scizor, Adamant Choice Band
Ability: technician
248 EV HP ; 252 EV att ; 8 EV Speed
So I chose this core because they have great offensive a defensive synergy. Scizor is a great pokemon for attack, and has some pretty good typing (bar the 4 time fire weakness) defensively. Rotom takes care of Scizor's fire weakness, and Scizor takes care of Rotom's grass weakness. Volt switch and U-Turn are both here to run the opponents around in circles, forcing switches and taking entry hazards damage. Rotom's Trick blocks an opponent on one move, forcing the opponent to switch or leaving me the possibility to switch with minimal/ no damage. Bullet punch double stab does some serious damage and is a priority move, taking care of most of those pesky fairies. Pursuit if the switch can be anticipated (works very well after Rotom uses trick to give opponent choice band). Hydro pump is the base stab for Rotom, and will-o-wisp halves the attacking power off a powerful physical attacker. Is it a good idea to remove hydro pump and will-o-wisp and replace with scald, giving me another free slot?
Okay, that's for the core.
Walls:
Nothing too original here!
Skarmory, Impish Leftovers
Ability: sturdy
224 HP / 252 Def / 32 SpD
Chansey, Bold, @eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Well, not much to say is there?... Spikes for additional entry hazards damage, Roost to heal up, whirlwind is there to get a threat/boosted/baton passed Pokemon away, and Chansey covers for Skarmory, and vice versa. Chansey is chosen over Blissey because it has higher defense with the eviolite. With abysmal offensive slots, seismic toss is an obvious choice for hitting, though I am thinking of replacing it with counter? Low defense + high HP + counter = massive damage and a lot of OHKOs! Brave bird is the obvious offensive move for Skarmory, as can heal itself with roost and leftovers, and does decent damage without investing any EVs.
Sweeper:
Garchomp, Jolly @garchompite/Life orb
Ability: Rough skin
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Then is the question of the mega evo... Is it really damaging the loss of 10 base speed? Should I run life orb instead to still hit hard but maintain good speed? And then give mega evo to Scizor?
And lastly (but most important) I don't know who to put up as a last Pokemon... I had these thoughts/options:
Tyranitar, Adamant hard stone
Ability: sand stream
252 EV HP ; 32 EV att; 224 EV sp def
a) no spinner
b)no special sweeper (even though Rotom is special it isn't exactly a sweeper...)
c) it shares a lot of attacks with Garchomp, seems almost redundant. I could place stone edge on Garchomp, and then the only interesting part of this is SR...
d)My team is too offensive oriented. If the opponent comes out with a physical wall resisting Rotom (or Rotom is down) I'm screwed...
Starmie, timid @leftovers/ life orb
Ability: natural cure
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe (I may want to take a bit off the special attack and put in bulk?)
Volcarona, Timid Lum Berry
Ability: flame body
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
So that would be the special sweeper, and is hindered by one huge thing: damage to SR. and without a spinner it is barely playable.... Although I could baton pass to Rotom for added defense speed and damage, or to Garchomp for just using the speed given the needs. It would also put a second fire move in my team, and put a first grass move, also allowing it to heal itself to some extent.
Greninja, Protean.
So this is the one Pokemon I haven't tested in my team, so I have no idea how I would run it, except I would do a special sweeper. Having a stab to every move could potentially be useful, as well as keep the opponent guessing in terms of typing. However, it is very frail, and I have no idea to any movesets...
Problems Summary: No fairy type or even fairy attacks, only one grass move, no designated special sweeper.
So that's it for my ideas, if you see something horribly wrong and/ or something I could change, let me know! All advice is welcome! :) Thanks a lot for helping!
