Bug/Fighting

Ah yes Heracross one of the most whored pokemon of advanced gen
with its ablity to hurt stuff badly with powerful stabbed fighting moves and Megahorn coming from a massive attack that could be boosted by guts with swords dance and being able to nuke skarm with a focus punch after a SD and/or a guts boost is always a plus.

What does the future hold for this mighty bug?

notable learned move changes

Pursuit: becoming physcial means if you switch-out heracross can have 80 BP move to use on you making switching to a counter more risky has it could take a poke before you stop it.

hidden power: already rare to see on heracross due to getting decent moves for coverage it being special now means you won't see it ever.

Notable movepool options
Physcial:
all of its options it got in advance not listing them because nothing old that was vital to heracross changes in DP.

Stone edge: a option over rockslide for power and base damage a CH will spell certain death to most pokemon not resistant to it its on bit in acc but that doesn't stop hydro pump from being used now does it?

Shadow claw/Blade test: you'll want these to deal with Yonowaaru (aka dusclops2) because it's immune to your fighting move and will hardly feel megahorn and stone edge won't really hurt it if its EVed properly shadow claw could be used to form the fighting/ghost combo that nothing resists but blade test hits normals although they already die to your fighting moves.

Infight: basiclty is superpower but it lowers only the defenses i'd suggest it on a CB set sort of a middleman move between focus punch and brick break

special: please are you kidding me heracross doesn't have the movepool or special attack for this X)

misc:
swords dance
endure
substuite
bulk up

very narrow but it supports what it does best Physcial sweeping.

hell i really don't wanna bother making a set since all of heracrosses standard ADV sets will work in DP but here it goes anyways

i dent so you bad set
Heracross@Adherence Scarf
Adamant nature
Guts
max attack enough 232 speed rest in HP
Megahorn
Infight/brickbreak/focus punch
Stone edge/Shadow Claw/Blade Test
Pursuit

basic idea with AS scarf you outspeed everything other than Ninjask deoxys-e and the odd electrode while denting the crap outta stuff with megahorn your fighting move and dealing with yono with stone edge or blade test/shadowclaw and pursuiting anything that would run from you

AScarf Hera gets you walled by Skarm (2HKOing Skarmory is what makes it a really big monster in D/P). I prefer CB.

AJC why are your Discussion Topics always so hard to read ;.;

I hear Pursuit with Adherance Scarf is causing Gengar and Yonowaaru seizures on Wifi, which is quite a cool change. I don't mind using Adherance Scarf on this monster at all, In Fight does reasonable damage to Skarmory, not to mention Focus Punch.

CB set gives you guaranteed power, but I'm leaning more towards the Scarf. You just need to catch a WoW from something and you've got your CB power with the speed to cause some real problems.

Even you don't catch a burn, I can't see 383 Attack 400+ speed and two 120 BP STAB moves being a liability.

I would rather stick with the CB set Dusclops evo is not gonna beat you either way and cross can take a couple of gengar hits the adherence scarf isn't really needed.

I think the new standard cross has been established as:

Heracross@Choice Band

Megahorn
In Fight
Stone Edge
Pursuit

Sleep talk is an option due to all the whoring of life orbing hypnosis gengar on wifi atm, the sleep talk set is pretty redundant now due to the offensive metagame.

Messed up in what way? It picks rest or focus punch and fails? If its that I can confirm that rest fails, and focus punch doesnt get picked.

Could it be possible that The only reason sleep talk doesn't work is because it didn't pick the first attack it used? Let's say you have Choice Band with Sleep Talk and In fight and no other attacks, could it possibly continue to use In Fight? not that this would be a good tactic or anything but it's just a thought.

Needs more underlines and 2x spacing between paragraphs.
Actually, his discussion topics are so hard to read because he doesn't use punctuation. At all.

I think that drain punch deserves a mention here, due to it being the only (is it?) move that Heracross posseses that heals him (other than rest, of course).

Heracross (M) @ Leftovers ** Stalkcross
Trait: Guts
EVs: Somewhat bulky
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Megahorn
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Stone Edge

Heracross (M) @ Salac Berry ** EndRev
Trait: Swarm
EVs: Anything with 264 speed
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Endure
- Megahorn
- Reversal
- Swords Dance / Rain Dance

can be used.

i think its safe to say the era of reversal sets has died with what seems to be even more use of tyranitar, ice pebble and kaburdon. The only reversal set i see being used is by a certain lucario.

I Could not read that Posts seriously Please put some Thought into it. ):

A defensive Heracross with Rest/Sleep Talk could work, it does resist Tyranitar Crunch. It does lose the awesome power edge though. ):

I find Pursuit on CB Heracross dead sexy, nothing can safely switch out against it with that.

Heracross @ Choice Band
Adamant: 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 6HP
-In Fight
-Megahorn
-Pursuit
-Stone Edge

Very little that can counter Heracross decently can come in (or get out) on this guy. Moltres can take anything but Stone Edge decently though and OHKO with either of its STABs. Also notable is that Somersault makes Pursuit Heracross sad.

TBH, I've considered building a team around Gliscor just to ward off Heracles whoring. Other than that, the only way to assassinate the thing is to predict what move they're Choosing.
