ORAS OU Here is this team I laddered up to 1730. Its pretty decent Imo

If you would like to try out my team it would be much appreciated! Hey my name is Patrick and I have been in the Competitive Pokemon scene for a solid two years now. I Have a very good insight on the game in almost every tier, but i'm a bit rusty as of late due to irl stuff. I have decided to do a RMT because I have done really good with this team in the past. I got up to at least 1700 on the ladder. I wanted to know what was missing in terms of team synergy. I wanted to use standard mons because they are standard for a reason. I dont have exact reasons for these pokemon but it opened my eyes that some weird sets throw people off. Lets get into it.

Big Bird (Tornadus-Therian) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 63 HP / 63 Atk / 4 Def / 126 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
I like Torn-T as a lead because it U-turns on almost everything. Its a good swap into an obvious rapid spinning Starmie, Out speeds Keldeo and hits it with a hurricane, Heatwave allows Ferro and scizor be scared so you can pivot on the rest of their team. He has enough attack EV's to OHKO Gengar with a knock off after rocks. With Ass. Vest it switches well into Serpeior which my team in Starmie and Azumarill can't deal with toO well.
Hsien-Ko (Heatran) @ Power Herb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Solar Beam
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
I absolutley LOVE this Heatran set. For starters you can use this as a lead against slower lead hazard setters. Catch any Water/Ground types with Solar Beam. I chose Solar Beam because things like Rotom-W, Manaphy, and Keldeo like to switch in on it. Solar Beam OHKO's Phisically defensive Rotom-W after rocks. This Set completley shuts down standard set Clefable. Taunt on the rock or T-wave and magma storm until it dies while it can only hit you with moonblasts. Earth power is for Mega Manectric, Diance, and other heatran that are generally bulkier and slower.
Nexus (Azumarill) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower
Choice Band Azu Hits Like a truck!!! I like Ass. Vest and Belly Drum but in my opinion Choice Banded fits better. It is a good revenge killer. It OHKO's Life Orb Excadrill, Waterfall kills Hippo and Defensive Lando-T after a few rock switch ins. It does 50 to 75% to really fast wall breakers like Mega Medicham,Mega Loppunny and Mega Gardevoir (I know gardevoir isn't fast)
Trinity (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- iron Head
- Heart Stamp
- Healing Wish
EAT...SLEEP...FLINCH...REPEAT... When in doubt Jirachi always tends to come through. This is a nice U-turner that can phase a majority of mons out. This takes on ALL Fairys exept for the rare shadow ball on Gardevoir and a Specs Fire Blast Clef. Heart Stamp is a nice stab move that has a chance to flinch and its nice to use on incomoing all incoming water types but slowbro. Healing Wish is for my priotity users like Azu or to bring up anything essential to the battle to full. Overall it is a great pivoter and vital to the team.
Chaos (Starmie) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
I originally ahd Rotom-W but I desperatly needed a spinner. I didn't want and analytic starmie becasue I dont want to get my starmie to be statused. It is a nice switch to Gengar's hypnosis and any spore users. Then it can swap out and you don't have to worry about it being asleep later on in the battle. Scald is the best move in the game and is a safe move to go for on any switch and psychic is nice to catch Loppunny, Conk, and Keldeo.
Tectonic (Landorus-Therian) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock
Defensive Lando-T is nice because it eats up any physical attack barring an icicle crash from a Weavile, it can bluff the scarf and scare things out while you phase things out, you can set up rocks. It has U-Turn initiative and knock off to take off crazy items while taking a hit. This mon is used to set up hazards, Pivot, Take hits, and to knock off scary items.

After taking an hour or so to do this description I realized Keldeo isn't a problem for this team lmao, but it does get destroyed by My mascot, Weavile. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Im sorry if the end got sloppy, i"m tired and its really late. Thank you!!!

There are wasted EVs and non-ideal nature on Tornadus. Putting 63 or 126 does nothing more than 60 or 124 respectively. Using 60, 64 or 68 EVs in Atk will grant you the same chance to KO Gengar with Knock Off (factoring in SR), so the Atk EVs you can aim for are 0 (not aiming for the 1HKO), 60 (almost perfect chance to KO) or 72 (guaranteed KO).
Naive nature and Assault Vest together are a waste; use Hasty instead.

Big Bird (Tornadus-Therian) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 72 HP / 60 Atk / 124 SpA / 252 Spe (or move the HP into the offensive stats)
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave

Use this if you want to keep the same Knock Off damage. Alternatively, consider moving all the HP EVs to SpA or Atk, since you're not really aiming to survive any specific 1HKO/2HKOs with the HP investment.

What's up with the Rocky Helmet on Landorus? I don't understand what you have it for, so I can't comment on it.

Alright, I might take that Torn-T into consideration. I have rocky helmet on Lando to mainly come in on physically offensive life orb sweepers like bisharp or Breloom. It is also nice when your opponent is going to go for the U-turn. It's not going to do much and they will probably take more damage from rocky helmet then they did to me. It's nice for chip damage essentially.

Lando usually run 16 spdef to live hp ice from manectric or something iirc .also you very weak to mega manectric I'd change heatran to 248 hp 68 speed and rest in spdef and change the item to leftovers

Hope this helps

Hello, decent team but it has some improvements to make.
I don't really understand the Atk EV's on Torn, you don't really need the extra Atk for anything really. I would suggest using the standard AV Torn set

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 96 HP / 160 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Heat Wave
- Hurricane

I recommend using Timid nature on Heatran to outspeed Max Speed Jolly Mega-sciz otherwise the set it fine.

Please use Stone Edge instead of Knock Off on Lando-T so you don't lose to Talon.

Lastly I'm kinda confused by that Starmie set, it's like the defensive set and the offensive set combined. I would recommend using Recover instead of Ice Beam and changing Orb to Lefties as Lati's and grass types aren't really a problem to the team and to better take on opposing Keldeo's (Azu isn't really a good switch in cause of Scald)

Hopfully I was helpful
