Here's my team

I had the time to compose my team today for Pearl, so here it is. There's only five Pokemon though, since I didn't know who else to use. I really need suggestions and tips to improve it.

Staraptor - Adamant
Metronome
(252 HP, 252 Att, 4 SpDef)

Fly (Sadly, I need this move here. This is my in-game party, meaning I don't want to walk around everywhere )
Brave Bird
U-turn
Whirlwind (Pseudo-hazer)
He's my physical sweeper. Whirlwind is there for stat-uppers.

Machamp - Adamant
Toxic Orb (Poisons my Machamp to boost its attack and Facade)
(252 HP, 252 Att, 4 Spd)

Facade (Combined with Guts and double the power of Facade from my Toxic Orb, this move will pack a punch)
Earthquake
Cross Chop
Bulk Up

Thanks to Toxic Orb, I get a very strong attack from Facade

Glaceon - Modest
Life Orb
(252 SpAtt, 64 SpDef, 192 Spd,)

Ice Beam
Hidden Power Water (Counters fire Pokemon)
Wish (Heals party and damage caused by Life Orb)
Hail (Used with Snow Cloak ability to raise evasion)

With a high special attack, I can use him for special sweeping.

Forretress - Bold
Leftovers
(252 HP, 192 Def, 64 SpDef)

Flash Cannon
Rapid Spin (Counters Spikes)
Spikes (What's a team without Spikes? )
Explosion (Last resort)

I use him for spiking and countering spikes.

Dusknoir - Calm
Leftovers
(252 HP, 4 SpAtt, 252 Def,)

Shadow Ball
Confuse Ray
Will-o-Wisp
Pain Split

He's my wall/annoyer. Hopefully, these moves will help stall the opponent.

for machamp with the toxic orb and facade and guts.
besides the movepool, swellow does this better, with the added speed, and it gets STAB from facade, the guts boost and the facade boost itself.

It'd be helpful if you added a threat checklist. You also need to read Surgo's post, it really is helpful.

Also, format your team like this (or something close to it)

Pokemon @ Item
Trait:
EVs:
Nature:
- Move
- Move
- Move
- Move

I'll help you with your team later or tommorow.

Even though I'm not experienced, in general anything can work in-game. If you are going to use this in competitive play, then it won't work there. I will leave to let someone experienced rate this if they want to

Fly (Sadly, I need this move here. This is my in-game party, meaning I don't want to walk around everywhere )

Posts like this are annoying. If you have to keep it, then that means you don't know what the meaning of "HM Slave" is. Get a goddamn Pelipper and put 3 HMs on it. Problem solved. And you shouldn't be mixing your ingame party pokemon with your battling team, since they usually have mixed EVs and sucky movesets.

I just realized that your Straptor doesn't have Close Combat. What the hell man? That's the first move it learns when it evolves, and is the reason why it's better than the other physical Normal/Fly birds(other than pure stats).

Staraptor NEEDS close combat. If you're going plain in game you don't need team rating. If you're going to use it in the Battle Tower, remove fly and use someone else as a temporary slave. Same goes to WiFi.

Machamp - Adamant
Toxic Orb (Poisons my Machamp to boost its attack and Facade)
(252 HP, 252 Att, 4 Spd)

Facade (Combined with Guts and double the power of Facade from my Toxic Orb, this move will pack a punch)
Earthquake
Cross Chop
Bulk Up

Thanks to Toxic Orb, I get a very strong attack from Facade. Toxic Orbing your Machamp isn't a very bright idea, even with Guts into account. While you don't have the Attack restriction of CB, you lose health every turn in which prevents Machamp from even setting up with Bulk Up. Earthquake is useless. Stone Edge will do better

Glaceon - Modest
Life Orb
(252 SpAtt, 64 SpDef, 192 Spd,)

Ice Beam
Hidden Power Water (Counters fire Pokemon)
Wish (Heals party and damage caused by Life Orb)
Hail (Used with Snow Cloak ability to raise evasion)

Hail is terrible. Leftovers > Life Orb, since Glaceon isn't gonna live long and he isn't fast either unlike Persian.

Forretress - Bold
Leftovers
(252 HP, 192 Def, 64 SpDef)

Flash Cannon
Rapid Spin (Counters Spikes)
Spikes (What's a team without Spikes? )
Explosion (Last resort)

I use him for spiking and countering spikes. DUnno

Dusknoir - Calm

Shadow Ball
Confuse Ray
Will-o-Wisp
Pain Split

You'd want Thunderpunch considering the HUGE Gyarados weakness you have
I'll just rate it for now. I don't exactly have an idea for your 6th guy since you have quite a number of weaknesses

Since it's in-game what you use REALLY doesn't matter, but the main thing I noticed was that since you have Fly and don't want to drop it I'd say swap Brave Bird for In Fight just for better type coverage. (Sad to lose it though...)

I guess I'll consider taking away Fly after reading some of the posts above. Also, I noticed one of you say that it'll be better if I removed Life Orb from my Glaceon and put in Leftovers. Any idea who I should equip the Life Orb on, or should I not bother with it?

In-game rates are pointless, as are rates with less than six pokemon. One point of the threat list is to help see what you should add. Please read the rules and post a complete, non-ingame team next time.
