XY OU Heroes Feat. Mega-Gyarados (Peaked 1761)

HEROES!

This a team I created to beat stall and still do well against offensive and defensive teams. A lot of inspiration came from the Smogon World Cup. I am also a very big Mega-Gyarados fan. This is what came out. I hope you enjoy and I thank you in advance for your help.

A QUICK LOOK AT OUR HEROES!

AN IN DEPTH LOOK!

Terrakion_XY.gif

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

Role on this team:
Terrakion is my Hazard Control. Close Combat hits massively hard with 120 BP and STAB. Close Combat is paired with it's strongest STAB rock move, Stone Edge. I'm considering running Rock Slide, but I'm not sure, because of Stone Edge's massive power. Stealth Rock is essential for every team from breaking sashes, to weakening mons that like to switch a lot. Taunt is used to shut down Hazard Leads and Setup mons like Scolipede and Smeargle. Focus Sash guarantees that I get my rocks up and the EVs are to maximize Speed and Attack as much as possible.

Thundurus_XY.gif

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 76 Atk / 180 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Knock Off
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Role on this team:
Thundurus is my revenge killer, momentum killer, and wall-breaker. Thunderbolt has STAB, coverage, and power. Knock Off is a strong option for Lati0s and Lati@s. It knocks Eviolite off of Chansey and Porygon2 and is a great option for a predicted switch. Thunder Wave is a momentum killer. It is used to stop setup sweepers like Charizard X, Mega-Gyarados, Dragonite, and many more. Hidden Power Ice is for Landorus (I & T), Gliscor, and Garchomp. Life Orb maximizes my damage output. Prankster is essential to ensure that Thunder Wave cripples setup mons. The EVs maximize speed, while allowing Thundurus to hit hard on the special side. The 76 Atk EVs allow Thundurus to OHKO Latios after SR damage.

latias-gif.16012

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Healing Wish
- Psyshock
- Defog

Role on this team:
Latias is the support player. Latias is fast, strong, and specially bulky. It offers resistances to Water, Electric, Fire, and Grass, which are all popular in OU. Levitate offers Latias the ever so craved ground immunity. Draco Meteor is the strongest possible Dragon STAB that hits everything for solid damage that isn't Steel or Fairy. Psyshock is a strong STAB that hits specially defensive mons hard. It also does hits Mega-Gyarados counters/checks. Psyshock hits Death Horse Keldeo, Terrakion, Conkeldurr and Mega-Venusaur which can both put a stop to Gyarados. The last two moves are what set Latias apart from other dragons. Defog is essential to getting Stealth Rocks off the field. It helps Gyarados, Landorus-T and Thundurus switch in without taking damage. Lastly, Healing Wish allows me to fully restore one pokemon back to full health and status. This is perfect for healing a statused Gyarados or giving Terrakion a second shot at using it's focus sash. I only use it when I know Latias is no longer viable to the team or when healing is essential. EVs add a little bulk, maximize speed (along with a timid nature) and boost Latias's already above average special attack (along with Life Orb).

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Dragon Dance

Role on this team:
The star player. Mega-Gyarados is a monster and an awesome late game sweeper. Waterfall is a strong STAB with a small change to flinch opposing Pokemon. Earthquake offers power and strong coverage. Thanks to it's shiny new ability, Mold Breaker, Gyarados has the ability to hit what might be his biggest counter, Rotom-Wash. It also let's me hit weakened levitators such as the Lati's when I don't want to depend on Ice Fang. Ice Fang rounds out the offensive moves set which hits Dragon, Grass, and Flying types. Due to Mold Breaker, Gyarados can effectively hit Mega-Venusaur without having to worry about Thick Fat. Dragon Dance is essential to boost it's stats. I use a Jolly nature to maximize speed to ensure that Gyara outspeeds base 80s after a +1 speed boost like Dragonite. I like to use Gyarados as late in the game as possible to clean up weakened mons after at Dragon Dance :]

Landorus_Therian_Forme_XY.gif

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 8 HP / 248 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Rock Slide

Role on this team:
I chose Landorus-Therian as my my bulky ground type and electric resist. Earthquake is Catsby's most valuable STAB. I paired Earthquake with Rock Slide to gives Catsby the EdgeQuake combo with a little more reliability. U-turn gives me momentum on switches caused by intimidate and helps me scout other mons. Lastly, Knock Off helps me deal with stall and potential switches caused by Intimidate. Intimidate is key to causing switches by lowering the opponents attack stat. Scarf ensures that I outspeed most common setup sweepers after one setup move and EVs maximize speed. I'm not completely sure on the on the spread I should be running, so I figured this would work momentarily. It got me this far, but I am open to suggestions.

Clefable_XY.gif

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled

Role on this team:
I'm writing this late and I'm trying not to get lazy. I LOVE CLEFABLE. CM boosting is wonderful due to Clefable's ability, stats, and resistances due to it's fairy typing. Moonblast is a strong STAB move and Flamethrower is necessary to pick off Steel types who would otherwise dominate Clefable. Soft-Boiled is very solid recovery. EVs maximize physical bulk to give Clefable an easier time setting up.

This is my team! I'm open to all changes, for I only want this team to get better. Thank you so much for reading and happy rating :]

Hi,
I would suggest using Life Orb on clefable instead of leftovers as see the calcs
4 SpA Clefable Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Scizor: 248-296 (72 - 86%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
4 SpA Life Orb Clefable Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Scizor: 322-385 (93.6 - 111.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Without Life Orb you can't OHKO scizor on the switch in Also you miss out on the opportunity to OHKO Mawile on the switch-in after stealth rock damage is applied.

Credit goes to scrafed raptor for this idea

Hey Heroically nice team ! I tested your team and your team struggle against Fairies.
I think Suicide Lead (Terrakion) and Defogger are not compatible, so i suggest Aegislash Heatran > Terrakion. Heatran helps against Talonflamme, which is a huge threat.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 220 SpD / 40 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Protect / Roar
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic / Will-O-Wisp

Hope i helped :]

Hi :), nice team you got there, there are not much changes that could be made in this team as it's built very well but I'd like to suggest you to make one important change

Try using superpower on thundurus, I agree that with knock off thundurus can deal with a beast like latias/latios quite comfortably but with the set you are currently using, it loses to things like ferrothorn, tyranitar, excadrill, mamoswine.

Very well built team, good luck :)

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I am currently testing them all and I will make the changes (Giving credit where it is due) to the RMT when I'm finished with testing! Again, thank you so much!

hey nice team, well first thing first gyaradoa you should probably change his EV spread and nature to :216 EV's in speed with the rest dumped in attack and an Adamant nature with this youre 1)hitting everything harder and 2) at+1 you outspeed everything not scarfed up to greninja wich IMO is a great benchmark . Also you might wanna try ScarfChomp over lando-t he basically can take the hits lando-t can only with better stabs and is in a better speed tier wich takes a lot of pressure from thundy because he wont be forced to switch into everything and paralyze them then possibly take a hit(might get paralyzed on that turn) another thing is latias spread should proly be max SPA and Spe since it has healing wish it wont nessesarily need the bulk since its going to sac herself for one of your members therefor it really doesnt need the extra bulk, besides its wasting EV wich you could you to hit harder with them DRACO BOMBS and psyshock also terrakion isnt your Hazard control that would actually be latias wich has defog terra can only taunt but is basically a suicide lead(though it could help you vs sand teams with ttar) thatll be it GL HF
