SS OU Hexer team

Hi since sword and shield became the new metagame there were some changes that made me consider making this team. First of all entry hazards became less hazardous, secondly speed tier is less defined and lastly not a lot of mons run knock off. The main focus of this team is statusing and utilizing the doubled power of hex.

Jellicent (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Recover

The main role of Jellicent is tanking hits and especially countering dracovish. It ev spread and leftovers maximises its survivability. Hex is the only damaging move,
will-o-wisp helps improve furthermore physical bulk, taunt prevents posibility of setting up on her and statusing.

Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Cursed Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Hex
- Sludge Wave
- Will-O-Wisp

Gengar is a good lead thanks to its speed and good matchup against a lot of pokemon. Substitute protects it from status and helps burning your oponent. Hex is the main damage move provided that enemy is statused. Sluge wave is an option when foregoing requierment isn't met.

Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Blaze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Court Change
- Pyro Ball
- U-turn
- Taunt

Cinderace is a good option on almost any team thanks to its disgustingly good singature moves. U-turn lets Cinderace keep momentum by pivoting out of unfavorable matchups. Taunt prevent the opponent from defoging, setting up hazards and poisoning.

Dragapult @ Spell Tag
Ability: Infiltrator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hex
- Thunder Wave
- Draco Meteor
- U-turn

Through the use of Hex and status ailments, Dragapult achieves potent wallbreaking capabilities while simultaneously providing more utility for its team. Thunder Wave is preferred as a status infliction, since this team already has two of those. U-turn allows Dragapult to also act as a pivot, generating momentum for the team by switching out on checks. While Hex is the primary attack on this set. Draco Meteor is a necessary secondary move for the times when the opponent isn't statused.

Rotom-Heat @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Overheat
- Hex
- Thunder Wave

Rotom-H's combination of typing, utility, and offensive prowess has made it one of the most applicable Pokemon in OU. Levitate is an incredibly useful ability, patching up Rotom-H's 4x weakness to Ground-type moves. Nasty Plot pressures defensive Pokemon and also helps offset the Special Attack drops from Overheat. Hex is actually a good option, because overheat can damage most of the pokemon that discharge would.

Conkeldurr @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Knock Off
- Facade

Conkeldurr is one of the most potent wallbreakers in the tier thanks to its sky-high Attack stat, decent bulk, and ability Guts, which not only enhances its offensive potential but also allows it to absorb status conditions for its teammates. In this team in particular it counters dark and ice types. rain Punch is the STAB move of choice as it increases Conkeldurr's longevity. Mach Punch provides some very useful priority, which allows Conkeldurr to effectively revenge kill numerous threats. Facade allows Conkeldurr to do considerable damage to Fairy-types.

Hope you like my team, any suggestion for improvements are welcome.

hey man cool team really like the idea of ghost spam. one thing i noticed a lot is that this team has a very hard time dealing with opposing dragapult. the only way your team can really deal with it is winning the 50/50 speed tie with your own dragapult, which isnt that reliable. scarf gengar can be really annoying as this team honestly has no good answers for it. another thing that really bothers this team are setup pokemon, such as hawlucha, and mimikyu. mimikyu is especially threatening as your only way of really checking it is giving up a mon to break disguise and then revenge killing with cinderace or rotom. these also arent that reliable as they can get chipped down throughout the game and it always requires you to lose a mon everytime mimikyu comes in. zeraora can also be troublesome because rotom-heat gets knocked off, and then has to switch into stealth rocks which you have no removal for.

:jellicent: --> :toxapex: the first change i suggest is changing jellicent to toxapex. toxapex helps this team in numerous ways, mainly providing toxic spikes, and haze, while retaining a good water resist. while losing out on a hex mon, toxic spikes allows a lot of grounded mons to get statused without having to waste an extra turn. this can help a lot with things like dracovish or seismitoad which really threaten all of your status users. haze is really important for this team as it can stop a lot of setup pokemon from wrecking havoc on this team. you can come in on things like cloyster shell smash, mimikyu swords dance and sponge the next hit and haze them. hawlucha is situational as sky attack can do a lot of damage, but you can sponge acrobatics and hit them with haze. losing out on water absorb wont be too bad as with toxapex +another change i will suggest, you can deal with dracovish quite well.

:cinderace: --> :mandibuzz: my second suggestion would be to change cinderace to mandibuzz. mandibuzz is one of the best dragapult / gengar switchins in the game. sponging all of their attacks, baring nasty plot thunderbolt gengar, mandibuzz is a great way to switchin and roost of any type of damage. the reason nasty plot thunderbolt isnt as threatening as scarf, is that dragapult outspeeds, and toxapex can also switchin quite easily. mandibuzz also provides defog which this team really needs as opposing hazards can be really annoying. u-turning out into your hex abusers / conkeldurr is also a great way to get them in.

:rotom-heat: --> :ferrothorn: another thing i noticed about this team was the lack of stealth rocks. stealth rocks is really a necessity for every team, and i think changing rotom-heat to a ferrothorn helps. i think changing another one of your offensive based mons to another fat mon really helps this team become more stable in the current metagame. ferrothorn can really chip zeraora down with rocky helmet coming in on plasma fists and such. knock off can help this teams matchup vs a lot of things like toxapex / clefable, as those mons without leftovers become a lot easier to deal with, with your main offensive threats gengar and dragapult. also body press helps with bisharp which can threaten your hex abusers.

aside from that cool team bro, i tried my best to help you retain the idea of hex spam, but changed a few things to help you succeed more in the current meta.
