Hey everyone, creating a new Pokemon clan

Well, I have found Smogon to be a respectable place for people who like Pokemon to come. I'm not selling or offering a service to anyone, just offering a group thing to people that are interested.
If this truly falls under the "advertisement" category, I'll remove the post. Otherwise, it'd just be cool to find some people to play the game with in a group.

This isn't some clique site where someone with 9 posts can come in with a gameplan and hope to recruit anyone but losers to a 'clan', where you're supposed to regularly have events and want us to be "pro-active". Pro-active like challenge some people from Pokegym and Gamefaqs? Pro-active like 'sponsor events' in person? Seriously, what? Do you have thousands of supporters? Hundreds? Ten?
How do you plan to fund something like this, with either time OR money? Unless you're a multi-billionaire with thousands of friends, i dont think you're going to find much in this thread than flames, or an eventual headache.
In what way would your "clan" have us try new things? We're on a pokemon site, so i think anything pokemon related may have a check under the 'old things' box.
Second, i doubt anyone will take you seriously if you have a myspace. (no real problem, but it isn't at all the kind of image you want. Myspace is filled with chatbots, viruses, 13 year old kids posing at 17 year olds, or sexual predators)
You may say you're not offering a service to anyone (which, by the way seems kind of bogus if you're trying to create a clan/group/site with members from another site, sometimes seen as 'advertising'), but you're asking normal people who've found a hobby to provide a service to you, by taking time out of their days/weeks to 'chat' about what pokemon they like to use.
Even if my argument is baseless, something about this isn't kosher, and will undoubtedly be ignored.

Myspace is an awkward "social networking" site, that allows you to fill a profile, and communicate with people in your area. Not in real time mind you. It's usually used by Junior High/Middle school kids who think it's cool to have ~XxX~ on the ends of their usernames.

to make sure I'm not infracted for saying this, I'll say something to add to this.
Advertisement is against he rules. try to squeeze in with the "Could nurseing be your pashion" and "free nautical game" adds.
Also, smgon is not a clan. It's a place for lifeless nerds who enjoy an RPG that involes cute "animals" beating the shit out of each other ala cockfighting. And so far, smogon has let to sacrifice a pig so it really isn't a clan.
Nothing wrong with wanting a few buddies, but you shouldn't try and pull people from an already great community.

But, more to you Siigari. It's not that it's a bad idea, it's just, you have no base here in the forums, no proof that you're worth your salt as a battler/coordinator, AND you're breaking the rules. Don't let all the Stark users get you down, you're within your rights to advertise for a Forum/Clan, just not on smogon.
