Hey you! Yes, you! Come look at my team!

Hello everybody, this here is my second rmt its been able to provide me with a good amount of wins but i feel like it lacks something. If I were to post a complete team building process it would just be ridiculously huge, this team started out as an all bl/uu/nu team that i intended to use for ou and as i would use that I slowly would start adding ou pokemon that would be better for the team and then those ou pokemon changed to other pokemon and so on.

Anyways, here is the team in its current state.

There it is in all its mighty glory. So now it is time for the all important in depth look!

Breloom @ choice scarf
ability: poison heal
EVs: 4 HP/252 ATK/ 252 SPD
Jolly nature
-Spore
-Superpower
-Seed Bomb
-Stone Edge

The lead position started out being filled with a choice band dugtrio that work horribly but it got me interested in choice leads. After going through several pokemon including a specs Alakazam I have found this Breloom and it is an amazing pokemon. If I think i will be able to ohko or 2hko the opposing lead i will use one of my offensive moves and if not i can always get out a super fast spore. It can have trouble with Metagross leads that have a lum berry because breloom is 2hko by meteor mash then bullet punch but most other leads it has turned out to be very successful and more often than not he is able to switch out and come back later for more owning. (also, just a neat thing, all the moves start with s, just wanted to take note of that).

Gliscor @ Leftovers
ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/40 DEF/ 216 SPD
Jolly nature
-Earthquake
-Taunt
-Roost
-Stealth Rock

So this Gliscor was added for several reasons, he provides a electric immunity that I wanted to help out vaporeon, taunt (which I had great success with when i had an umbreon forever ago on the team), and stealth rock which I have never had previously on the team but wanted to include for a while, (and the final straw was when I got 6-0ed by a sd lucario >.<). But I would probably say that Gliscor has turned out to be my least favorite member and seems to be ineffective for what I envisioned it would be able to do.

Shiny_Porygon2_by_Zaikudo.png

Porygon2 @ Leftovers
ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP/216 DEF/ 216 SATK
Bold nature
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
-Thunder Wave

Trace is such just such a wonderful ability, combined with boltbeam it allows me to easily counter dragon dancing Salamence and Gyarados in addition to easily switching into pokemon such as Heatran due to flash fire and possibly force then to switch out if they happen to be locked into their move via a choice item. Other than that Porygon2 also provides paralysis support for the team while also being fairly bulky. Porygon2 is actually one of the original members of the team and has maintained the same moveset and Evs, I have been pretty happy with what he has been able to provide for a while now.

Cresselia_Practice_by_Cresselia_ROX.png

Cresselia @ Light Clay
ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/ 148 DEF/ 68 SPD/40 SPDEF
Bold nature
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Ice Beam
-Lunar Dance

Here we have a dual screen Cresselia, it is usually successful in setting up screens but I feel like lunar dance is rarely advantageous for me, and i might try out psychic rather than ice beam because Porygon2 already has ice beam. Cresselia also was one of the original members but for a long time it was a calm mind sweeper that i had a lot of success with but i wanted to try this out in order to support the scizor that is coming up next!

212_Scizor_by_Skitteeh.jpg

Scizor @ Leftovers
ability: Technician
EVs: 196 HP/ 252 ATK/ 60 SPD
Adamant nature
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Brick Break
-Roost

Here it is as promised, bulky sd Scizor has been working very well especially when it can set up behind dual screens. I had tried out a sd Lucario but i had no success with that and then after testing this set out it has been able to set up and sweep fairly easily. I might consider changing brick break for bug bite or quick attack but for the time being brick break works well, have not tested the other attacks though.

Shiny_Vaporeon_by_ValiChan.jpg

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/ 252 DEF/ 68 SPD
Bold nature
-Wish
-Protect
-Surf
-Toxic

<3 Vaporeon. It is just so bulky and is so good at toxic stalling and it can heal the team with wish and omg have you seen it, it is just the cutest little thing. Anyways, yeah so Vaporeon has become my favorite pokemon since I started using it on this team, of the the bonuses of wish is that you can pass it but I actually rarely use it to heal the other pokemon, they can go screw themselves Vaporeon getz all teh healz <3. Toxic is just amazing along with wish and protect in order to stall out basically anything that doesnt have thunderbolt, and steels typically can be brought down via surf.

Breloom is a fail lead, if you leave it like that. Choice Scarf will lock it into Spore. You will be forced to use Spore over and over until you switch. Get it off. I say send out Gliscor first so you can lay Stealth Rock and then switch out for Cress if you need to set up Screens. Also, beware of Magnezone. He might be able to take out Vap if you're not careful, as his T-bolt hurts and Surf is meh against him. You have too many walls. Make Scizor a sweeper with B Punch, SD, Pursuit, and Brick Break. Porygon 2 is unneeded: Porygon-Z is better for sweeping: faster and stronger. Give Z Tri-attack, Boltbeam, and Thunder Wave/Recover.

I feel the above posts fail to realize that this is a defensive team.

Gliscor looks like a more viable lead than Breloom. I would give it a shot. Your moveset is fine on Gliscor.

Breloom, now out of the lead spot, needs a little work. Spore is a must. So are Seed Bomb and Superpower. Now we look at the rest of your team. You seem to have a knack for walling the opposition. I feel another priority attack would suit you well. I run Mach Punch on my Breloom set with a Jolly nature (yeah I'm weird). You could keep Stone Edge if you wanted, I guess. But Breloom is much more effective without a Scarf.

Scizor: fine.

Porygon2: fine.

Vaporeon: I like Roar over Toxic but that's your choice.

Cresselia is not as useful as she once was. I've found the most effective set to be Ice Beam / Reflect / Hidden Power: Fighting / Rest, but that was on my dedicated stall team where she had a very specific job (deal with Salamence and Dragonite and present a check to Lucario and some other stuff). I recommend switching walls. Skarmory? I'm bad at suggesting new pokemon but you need something to help you wall and wear down your opponent. Spikes is a powerful tool and I would give Skarmory some serious thought.

You're going to get bored of this, but I agree with others. Gliscor as a lead would be more effective. You said he's your least favourite, this may be the reason. It's more suited for that lead role than that Breloom.

Porygon2 works well, as you should know by now, at handling Salamence, Gyarados etc. Although you really don't need to, HP Ground would handle Heatran and Magnezone who want to deal with the Scizor. But Heatran doesn't look like it will be a major threat to you.

Cresselia... I'm using opinion here. I just don't like the Dual Screen and die set. I know it's to support Scizor, as you said, but if that's the case the team could use some tweaking there, anyway.

Currently Magnezone only fears your Gliscor, and if it Magnet Rises, as some do, it'll be free to sub up and annoy the hell out of you, even more so if it has Hidden Power Ice instead of Fire. I know a lot of Magnezone carry a Choice Scarf, but I've seen several Magnet Rising variants recently.

If you want to keep Breloom in, I suggest a completely different set. The standard Breloom could work, but I've known the SubSeed set to work wonders.

Your Scizor hates the Rotom Formes, that can't be denied, and you don't really do too well in handling them. I'd suggest looking at the many viable Pokemon that handle them and considering what to put into this team. Tyranitar usually does well, if you watch out for Will-O-Wisp, but there are many others, I'm just going off the top of my head, here.

I'll try to be a little more helpful sometime later, I'm in a rush at the moment, sorry.

Like a lot of the other people, Breloom isn't a very good lead. Although you can put to sleep, you're locked into that, and because of that you'll have to switch. If you want to, you can keep CS with Breloom just in case you have to shut down a particularly dangerous sweeper with Spore, or get a quick kill with one of his attacks, but the SubSeeder set would work well. You could stall out other walls with Leech Seed, Sub, and Spore, and force a lot of switches. Usually, I go in on a pokemon that can't do much damage to me, use Spore, throw up a sub, and use Leech Seed or Focus Punch depending on the situation. You could use Impish to survive a few more attacks, making Breloom a little more bulky, but I usually find the given EVs are enough to survive most attacks that come Breloom's way, so instead I opt for Jolly for a small speed boost.

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
EVs : 236 HP / 248 Def / 24 Spe
Ability : Poison Heal
Nature : Impish/Jolly

-Substitute
-Spore
-Leech Seed
-Focus Punch

And yes, Gliscor would make a pretty good lead, being able to taunt slower leads, as well as throw up SR early.

You could just give your Breloom a Life Orb and it could sweep and go:

Breloom @ Life Orb
Adamant / Jolly 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Spore
-Superpower
-Seed Bomb
-Stone Edge / Mach Punch

This is still basically your original set but without the Scarf so it can Spore and then actually do something! Superpower and Seed Bomb for STAB and to wreck lots of stuff with Breloom's awesome Attack. Stone Edge for coverage or Mach Punch for priority, I would recommend Mach Punch because Breloom is realitively slow and it could make it a decent revenge killer.

Good RMT. I like the stall, you don't see a lot of that anymore. Good luck on your future laddering/posting!

Regarding Porygon2, you could free up a moveslot by changing Thunderbolt to Discharge and dropping ThunderWave. This would allow an open slot for a move such as HP Ground or Recover

thank you all for your contributions tomorrow im going to test out a couple things
1. while i do love the scarf breloom lead, i will use gliscor for the lead and switch to the subseed set as so heavily suggested
2. going to try out switching discharge with tbolt and giving porygon2 hp ground rather than thunder wave

and if anyone has any input on cresselia and if there would be a better dual screener for the team or maybe a dif cress set because as shadow tectike said it just feels bad getting screens up and having cress die
