Hidden Power in DP

Sorry if it's any, but i've searched and found no topics about it. So...

How do HP work in DP? Is it physical or special? How is it calculed?

Its all special now champ, although it's calculated the same way.

However, i'm sure that HP's use on wi-fi will be significantly less than you've seen on netbattle. You don't get to set your IVs and stuff at the push of a button while raising an in-game pokemon. It's possible, but difficult and time-consuming.

This is especially true with legends that rely on their Hidden Powers. The odds of catching a good natured, good IVed Zapdos with a high-powered hidden power ice or grass is like 1 in 17 gazillion.

Yeah. On wi-fi I expect little to no HP, which I think will be pretty nice, since the move was never designed to be the sort of trump card it is on netbattle.

One notable difference is that you can't Counter Hidden Power anymore; in Advance you could always Counter it as it was technically normal-typed.

You wouldn't beleive how many hackers there are on wifi. Hidden power ice seems to be everywhere. Finally garchomp has died down though. Meaning HP grass will become more popular as it should be. But I fear that AGmence's raise in popularity shall not make people think twice about using HP ice. ALso, if you really need something to have a HP, it's not that hard to get. It just takes time and patience, plus there are a lot of people whom will clone to give you those pokes.

I don't know about you, but I fear Land Shark and Sala a LOT more than I do Pert. I think sticking with HP Ice is the way to go unless you have a lot of IB/IP users on the rest of your team.

Usually, some teams are so afraid of garchomp (whom is not nearly as good as some of you are making him out to be, but dont get me wrong, he's still amazing) that they pack enough IB's to get rid of the dragons. Who would move in a garchomp or mence vs a jolteon? I am so confidant people are using HP ice that my swampert gets to move safely in on so many more pokes now. Swampert is better than he ever was.

True, it may be hard to find a high-powered Hidden Power, but it does give more versatility to the move. Now that it is special, any Special Pokemon could benefit from it's effects (unless it was the same type). I see it more as a suprising move you can use to shock someone, providing a few holes in the OU factor. Besides, you know you'll have a few people cheat it in for advantages when needed.
