Hippowdon makes for a great mixed wall by virtue of its bulk, typing, and access to reliable recovery. Its superb bulk enables it to check some of the metagame’s most dangerous threats in Pawmot, Salamence, Tyranitar, and Sandy Shocks. It also provides value through Sand Stream to help combat rain teams if given momentum to get in freely, as it can't hard switch into Water-types. Stone Edge enables Hippowdon to pressure Flying-types like Iron Jugulis and Salamence, in addition to being able to beat Taunt Dragon Dance Tyranitar even after it Terastallizes. Roar is also an option, as it allows Hippowdon to phaze setup sweepers like Polteageist in a pinch and synergizes well with entry hazards. Leftovers is the preferred item, as its residual healing improves Hippowdon's overall longevity and preserves Slack Off's PP. The given spread with an Impish nature and Leftovers avoids a 2HKO from Life Orb Pawmot and prevents Hippowdon from being KOed by Hurricane into Draco Meteor from Salamence after Stealth Rock while avoiding a 2HKO from Sandy Shocks without Stealth Rock. Rocky Helmet is also an option to punish physical attackers, primarily U-turn users and Maushold. A specially defensive spread is an option to handle Gengar if Pawmot is less of a concern. Tera Rock pairs well with its sand, as the Special Defense boost it receives gives it a strong matchup versus special attackers like Gengar, Salamence, and Noivern. Additionally, Tera Rock boosts Hippowdon’s Stone Edge to put more pressure on targets like Salamence. After Hippowdon has Terastallized, it is threatened by Pawmot, Sandy Shocks, and Tyranitar, so be careful when Terastallizing. Tera Ghost is an option that makes Hippowdon a strong response versus Slither Wing, Lucario, and Maushold and lets it spinblock against Donphan. Tera Fairy is an option that grants Hippowdon a generally good defensive typing, including a Fighting resistance, and makes it less vulnerable to Greninja. After becoming a Fairy- or a Ghost-type, Hippowdon is unable to check Gengar, and in the case of the latter, Tyranitar sets running Crunch as well. Tera Dragon makes Hippowdon an effective answer to rain teams through the useful Water-type resistance it provides.

Hippowdon most commonly fits on bulky offense or balance teams for its walling capabilities. Talonflame and Noivern make for good partners, (AC) as they are capable of grabbing momentum with U-turn off of opposing Decidueye and Wo-Chien swapping in to exploit Hippowdon. Hippowdon can in return easily absorb Knock Off from the likes of Tinkaton in order to preserve the Heavy-Duty Boots they both depend on. Wo-Chien is also a solid pick for a partner as a nice fit on most balance teams, as well as an answer to bulky Water-types that may attempt to annoy Hippowdon. In particular, Wo-Chien’s RestTalk set is capable of swapping in on Quagsire easily, as it is able to shrug off Toxic. Wo-Chien can also relieve pressure from Hippowdon, as it can take on Sandy Shocks. Tinkaton also makes for a good partner, as it is able to take a lot of the pressure off of Hippowdon by taking hits from Gengar and specially offensive Flying-types such as Iron Jugulis, Noivern, and Salamence. Tinkaton is also capable of providing useful Knock Off support by removing opposing Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots to enable Hippowdon’s Stealth Rock and sandstorm damage to stick. In return, Hippowdon being able to carry Stealth Rock means that Tinkaton does not need to run it itself and can fit a more useful option. Assault Vest Cyclizar is able to check Greninja and Wo-Chien for Hippowdon and keep Spikes or Toxic Spikes off the field from the former.

Hippowdon makes for a great mixed wall by virtue of its bulk, typing, and access to reliable recovery. Hippowdon’s superb bulk enables it to check some of the metagame’s most dangerous threats in Pawmot, Grafaiai, Gengar, Salamence, Tyranitar and Non-Tera Ice Sandy Shocks, denying the latter’s volt switch through its ground typing. Hippowdon is a great Stealth Rock setter as it is able to set them up for free in front of the many foes it walls. Hippowdon’s fourth moveslot is generally dedicated to Stone Edge as it grants it invaluable coverage to hit Flying-types that would otherwise hard wall it, namely Salamence, Noivern, Iron Jugulis, and Talonflame. However, Roar can be a nice option as it allows Hippowdon to phase out set-up sweepers like Polteageist in a pinch and synergises with hazards albeit rendering it significantly more passive. Hippowdon’s item slot is generally dedicated to Leftovers as the residual healing is valuable in improving both its overall longevity as well as preserving crucial Slack Off PP. Rocky Helmet is also a serviceable option to punish physical attackers, most notably Pokemon carrying U-turn and Maushold. While Hippowdon isn’t a go-to Terastallisation candidate, I disagree here personally, I think Hippo is a good tera option. It has a lot of defensive teras that can swing matchups in your favour. Tera Ghost is a valuable option in certain match-ups where being able to block Rapid Spin is appreciated.

While this is true to some extent (You don't really do anything against most spinners besides Tatsugiri, as Tsareena and Bramble resist EQ anyways with Edge not being too strong) the main appeal is you become a better Slither, Lucario, and Maushold check. Make this the main point, worth mentioning it cannot be a Gengar response if you commit this tera.

Add Tera Fairy, Steel, and Rock in the order I put them in above.

Give a mention to a more physically defensive spread to better check CB Tyranitar and LO Pawmot.

Hippowdon most commonly fits on bulky offense or balance teams for its walling capabilities. Talonflame and Noivern make for good partners as they are capable of grabbing momentum with U-turn off of opposing Tsareena and Wo-Chien swapping in to exploit Hippowdon. Hippowdon can in return easily absorb Knock Off from the likes of Tinkaton in order to preserve the Heavy-Duty Boots they both depend on. Wo-Chien is also a solid pick for a partner as a nice fit on most balance teams as well as an answer to bulky Water-types that may attempt to annoy Hippowdon such as Slowking. In particular, Wo-Chien’s RestTalk set is capable of swapping in on Quagsire easily as it is able to shrug off Toxic. Hippowdon ultimately faces stiff competition as a bulky Ground-type from the likes of Quagsire and Gastrodon but its unique tools enable it to be a potent option on the right team nonetheless.

Add a mention of Tink as it can help check Flying-types like Jugulis and Noivern better without Hippo needing to be forced to Tera defensively. Tink can also help check Gengar taking more pressure off Hippo. In return, Hippo can free up a slot on Tink to run another move over Stealth Rock.

Nature was missing on the original spread. We are also changing this spread to a more mixed spread that prioritises dealing with Pawmot properly as its one of the biggest advantages of the pokemon to begin with atm, so sureing up your LO pawmot mu is often more important.

EV spread explanation:

Defense lets you avoid 2HKO from LO Pawmot after rocks if leftovers, minimises chance after rocks if helmet. Spdef lets you avoid sandy shocks 2HKO with leftovers without rocks, and lets you avoid Hurricane -> Draco 2hko from Salamence (after rocks if leftovers).

In general you'll want to mention in prose instead that you can run more spdef investment to improve your sandy shocks, mence, and gengar matchups if you are running a team that gives Pawmot less entry points.

Hippowdon makes for a great mixed wall by virtue of its bulk, typing, and access to reliable recovery. Hippowdon’s superb bulk enables it to check some of the metagame’s most dangerous threats in Pawmot, Grafaiai, Gengar, removing this since list was already quite long and the pdef spreads arent as good into it, you can just mention it lower down instead when you bring up spdef. Salamence, Tyranitar and Non-Tera Ice Sandy Shocks, denying the latter’s volt switch through its ground typing. section is very long so i felt this sorta info wasnt necessary, all tera types can still break hippo anyway including grass and ground and the volt blocking is a little obvious. Hippowdon is a great Stealth Rock setter as it is able to set them up for free in front of the many foes it walls. fluff Hippowdon’s fourth moveslot is generally dedicated to Stone Edge as it grants it invaluable coverage to hit Flying-types that would otherwise hard wall it, namely Salamence, Noivern, Iron Jugulis, and Talonflame. mention how it lets you beat taunt dd tera flying ttar. Hippowdon’s item slot is generally dedicated to Leftovers as the residual healing is valuable in improving both its overall longevity as well as preserving crucial slack off PP. any 2hkos it specifically helps with? can bring up things like sandy shocks here Rocky Helmet is also a serviceable option to punish physical attackers, most notably Pokemon carrying U-turn and Maushold. While Hippowdon isn’t a prime abuser of Tera offensively, it can make good use of the mechanic to swing match-ups defensively. Tera ghost is a valuable option in certain match-ups to make Hippowdon a strong response versus Slither Wing, Lucario, and Maushold. The Ghost Tera Type also enables Hippowdon to spinblock versus Tatsugiri that would otherwise threaten it. dont like the wording on this one, if you get NPd on as you switch in its kinda shitty for you in general, can phrase this around stopping it trying to directly switch into you and keep off though, and mention tsareena too there. Tera Fairy is another viable option that grants Hippowdon a generally great defensive typing including a resist to both of Slither Wing’s STABs. However, after becoming a Fairy or a Ghost it should be noted that Hippowdon is unable to check Gengar. Tera Steel and Tera Rock are both options that maintain Hippowdon’s immunity to sandstorm damage as well as granting it a resist to Staraptor’s STAB moves in addition to bolstering its ability to take on Draco Meteors and Maushold’s Population Bomb. In particular the latter grants Hippowdon a Special Defense boost from the sand it sets for its self along with maintaining its ability to check Gengar. this is the major aspect of tera rock not staraptor who isn't immensely relevant, its the ability for it to much better check things like gengar, salamence etc (the stab stone edge is also relevant into mence a little too since it can no longer safely eat hits so well to pressure you) It should be noted that after Hippowdon has become a Steel type or a Rock type that it will now be weak to strong Close Combats from Slither Wing, Pawmot, Lucario and Lycanroc-Dusk as well as Donphan’s Earthquake. not checking ttar too well and sandy should have been one of the biggest things brought up here for doing those teras. A physically defensive spread is also serviceable to match up better into Choice Band Tyranitar and Life Orb Pawmot.

Re-order these tera explanations to match the slash order on the set.

Hippowdon most commonly fits on bulky offense or balance teams for its walling capabilities. Talonflame and Noivern make for good partners as they are capable of grabbing momentum with U-turn off of opposing Tsareena and Wo-Chien swapping in to exploit Hippowdon. Tinkaton also makes for a good partner as it is able to take a lot of the pressure off of Hippowdon by taking hits from Gengar and Flying-types that may force it to tera. Tinkaton is also capable of providing useful Knock Off support by removing opposing Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots to enable Hippowdon’s Stealth Rocks and sandstorm damage to stick. In return Hippowdon being able to carry Stealth Rock means that Tinkaton does not need to run it itself and can fit a more useful option.

To reflect the spread change can mention how wo chien and tinkaton can help take pressure off vs things like sandy shocks, gengar, jugulis etc.

Ended up making a big spread change here that does change some of the content. Gone through the first paragraph to help trim it down since it was far too long and make some general comments. Please implement this and readjust anything else that needs to be adjusted due to the spread change and i will give this another look and look at team options before stamping it.

Lunaflare overall your use of commas has improved a lot, and that was a really good part of the check. Try to focus on other objective errors too liek setup vs set up, capitalisation etc too.
- The term phaze (phazer, phazing, phazed), NOT "phaze out", is accepted as meaning "to pseudo-haze," which in turn describes forcing a switch with a move such as Whirlwind. As such, 'phase out' should be changed to 'phaze.'
- Set-up sweeper -> setup sweeper because setup is the noun. Set up is the verb (to set up).
- The first mention of 'hazards' in each paragraph should be 'entry hazards,' and then after that just 'hazards' is fine.
- I added the 'prevents Hippowdon being KOed by' part because its not a 2HKO in the typical sense (2 hits of the same move), so I made the prose clearer.
- Stats (HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed) should always be capitalised. As such 'special defense boost' -> 'Special Defense boost.'
- Matchup (and matchups) is one word, not two.
- Structures like 'After Hippowdon has Terastallized, (AC) it is threatened by Pawmot, Sandy Shocks, and Tyranitar' and 'After becoming a Fairy- or a Ghost-type, (AC) Hippowdon is unable to check Gengar,' a comma is needed to separate the two clauses (added here).
- The comma before as was missed on 'Tinkaton also makes for a good partner, (AC) as it is able to take a lot of the pressure off of Hippowdon' but teh rest are all really good.
- You've made a content change on the last sentence. The original is saying that AV Cyclizar can keep hazards off for Greninja to be able to help, while your change just says that Greninja needs hazards off the field to help, removing the link between Cyclizar as removal. Changing and -> but changes the meaning of the sentence; 'and' suggests it's an additional thing, while 'but' suggests contrast. In general, avoid rewriting sentences unless there are actual errors in them to avoid accidentally misinterpreting content.
