Draft Hisuian Electrode

Status
Not open for further replies.
[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 5-6 points

**Overview**: Hisuian Electrode has the unique combination of two rare attributes in its typing and Speed that can change the dynamic of a draft team at a low cost. Its Electric / Grass typing allows it to offensively and independently pick off weakened Ground-type checks better than most Electric-type counterparts, while its Speed allows it to outpace nearly the entire metagame. As a result, Hisuian Electrode has viable uses in pivoting, wallbreaking, supporting teammates, and sweeping in a way no other low-tier Pokemon offers. That being said, its low Special Attack stat and frail bulk is what keeps it from becoming a more valuable Pokemon, as it relies on stronger and bulkier teammates to pivot to.

Common Roles
========
**Fast Pivot / Cleaner**: Hisuian Electrode is primarily used to force damage and put foes in disadvantageous positions through Volt Switch and stronger STAB moves, which apply pressure for other teammates or secure KOs outright. It can then act as a useful sweeper once opposing Choice Scarf users are removed from play. Since it has similar movesets as a pivot and a sweeper, the role it has can change throughout a match.

**Fast Utility**: Hisuian Electrode can invest into its bulk while still outspeeding the entire opposing team, allowing it to reliably status opposing Pokemon and help its teammates wallbreak and clean. Thunder Wave can be used for speed control, while Taunt can be used to force switches. Reflect can also see viability , allowing teammates more potential to wallbreak, sweep, and support each other throughout a match.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Volt Switch, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain

**Setup Moves**: Charge Beam

**Utility Moves**: Taunt, Thunder Wave

**Coverage**: Tera Blast, Foul Play

Niche Moves
========
**Leech Seed**: Leech Seed has viable uses in matchups where Hisuian Electrode can invest EVs into its bulk in order to wear down bulkier Pokemon. Leech Seed pairs well with Volt Switch to force momentum in the user's favor while potentially keeping other pivots healthy.

**Reflect**: Reflect can be run on Hisuian Electrode to help teammates set up. It can be especially useful on lead sets to wear down foes for cleaning or support incoming teammates.

**Chloroblast**: Chloroblast can be used as a last resort option on certain wallbreaking sets where Hisuian Electrode needs to do as much damage as possible. It can be also used to knock itself out while dealing massive damage to bring in Pokemon that can exploit the matchup for setup.

Common Items
========
**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots ensures Hisuian Electrode can remain healthy throughout the match in order to survive an attack from most Pokemon and retaliate to secure a KO or significant damage.

**Choice Specs**: In matchups against weaker Ground-types, Choice Specs can help Hisuian Electrode wallbreak, forcing the opponent to make significantly riskier decisions when selecting a pivot against it.

**Miracle Seed / Magnet**: Miracle Seed and Magnet can be used in matchups where entry hazards are less relevant and when Hisuian Electrode requires the ability to switch moves without leaving the field.

Niche Items
========
**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack can be used with Leaf Storm for a stronger, single-use pivoting option. Eject Pack can be used to get damage on an Electric-immune Pokemon that is not weak to Grass-type moves such as Garchomp, Gliscor, and Iron Treads.

**Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet can prove to be a nuisance for foes in matchups with weaker or resisted physical attackers. Combined with Aftermath or Static, it can be used on Hisuian Electrode to quickly apply chip damage.

**Choice Scarf**: With a Choice Scarf, Hisuian Electrode outpaces the entire metagame, including opposing Choice Scarf users and a significant portion of the format with doubled speed. Choice Scarf can be a useful item to revenge kill opposing Choice Scarf, setup, or weather users.

**Life Orb**: Life Orb is viable when both Electric- and Grass-type moves need higher damage outputs, but it has diminishing returns when used against bulkier teams or in matchups where Hisuian Electrode needs to survive a strong attack to pivot.

Tera
========
Hisuian Electrode by no means requires Tera to be a key part of a successful team. However, it thrives as a Tera Captain, since it gains access to stronger STAB moves or new coverage entirely, allowing it to handle its checks and counters at a significantly greater capacity. Both Tera Electric and Grass are useful Tera types, as they provide increased pivoting damage or stronger damage against Ground-types, respectively. Tera Ice grants Hisuian Electrode BoltBeam coverage with Tera Blast, allowing it to take on Dragon- and Grass-types more effectively. If Tera Ice is not worth the increased entry hazard damage and frailer defensive typing in a particular matchup, Tera Fairy allows it to still take on Dragon- and Grass-type opposition.

Draft Strategy
========
Hisuian Electrode is not the centerpoint of a team, nor is it generally an early pick. However, it can complement a variety of draft teams, as the Speed and reliable pivoting it offers can benefit many different Pokemon and playstyles.

**Strong Water-types**: Pokemon such as Palafin, Greninja, and Urshifu-R benefit greatly from having a fast and purposeful pivot to weaken opposing Pokemon with Electric- and Grass-type coverage, allowing for more potential for them to sweep late-game. Once Hiusian Electrode pivots in, it can wear down opposing Pokemon with its STAB coverage and status moves or use Volt Switch on the opposing check to maintain momentum.

**Bulky Offense**: Hisuian Electrode synergizes with Pokemon that function in a bulky offense playstyle, as it can make use of its STAB moves combined with Volt Switch to create advantageous positions for teammates. Pokemon such as Galarian Slowking and Heatran can pivot in from a Volt Switch and wear down teams with entry hazards and reliable coverage, while Pokemon like Dragonite and Azumarill can pivot in and start breaking teams immediately.

**Entry Hazard Setters**: Since Hisuian Electrode naturally outspeeds all Defog users and benefits greatly from entry hazards when using Volt Switch, it works well as a teammate alongside reliable hazard users. Pokemon like Hisuian Samurott, Krookodile, and Deoxys-S not only can set up hazards, but also use Knock Off to eliminate opposing Heavy-Duty Boots, which can assist Hisuian Electrode in applying pressure. Taunt can also be used to prevent opposing Defog from removing hazards.

**Priority**: The pressure Hisuian Electrode provides throughout a match can effectively put Pokemon like Kingambit, Dragonite, and Weavile in positions to pick up KOs throughout a match or sweep outright.

Checks and Counters
========
**Dragon- and Grass-types**: If Hisuian Electrode is not a Tera Captain, Dragon- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Hydrapple, Goodra, and Amoonguss can prove to be challenging or impossible to break.

**Special Walls**: Pokemon with high special bulk such as Clodsire and Galarian Slowking can prevent Hisuian Electrode from making significant progress without dramatically altering its sets from its conventional roles. In addition, many Pokemon with Assault Vest can also temper its ability to wear down the opposing team.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 5-7 points

**Overview**: Hisuian Electrode has the unique combination of two rare attributes in its typing and speed that can change the dynamic of a draft team at a low cost. Its Electric / Grass typing allows it to offensively independently handle most Ground-types, setting it apart from most fast Electric-type Pokemon, while its base 150 Speed stat allows it to outpace the entire metagame with few exceptions. As a result, Hisuian Electrode has viable uses in pivoting, breaking, supporting and sweeping in a way no other low-tier Pokemon offers.

I would change this last sentance to be more specific. Say offensively, it can slot in as an offensive pivot or even a breaker when holding a boosting item. But its speed also lets it be a fast pivoting support peices.

I would also add at least one downside (as hard as I know it might be for you to do), just something that Electrode-H might struggle doing.

Common Roles
========
**Fast Pivot**: Hisuian Electrode is primarily used to force damage and disadvantageous positions on the opponent through its combination of STAB moves. Specifically mention the move Volt Switch here.

**Sweeper**: Hisuian Electrode can act as a useful sweeper once opposing Pokemon are scouted for Choice Scarf once opposing Choice Scarf users are removed from the field. Since Hisuian Electrode will have similar movesets as a pivot and a sweeper the role it has can change throughout a match.

**Fast Utility**: Hisuian Electrode can invest the majority of its EVs into its bulk while outspeeding the entire opposing team, allowing it to reliably status opposing Pokemon and help its teammates break and clean. Thunder Wave can be used for speed control, while Taunt can be used to force switches. Add Reflect.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Volt Switch, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain

**Setup Moves**: Charge Beam

**Utility Moves**: Taunt, Thunder Wave

**Coverage**: Tera Blast, Foul Play

Niche Moves
========
**Leech Seed**: Leech Seed has viable uses in matchups where Hisuian Electrode can invest EVs into its bulk in order to wear down bulkier Pokemon. Leech Seed pairs well with Volt Switch to force momentum in the users favor while potentially keeping other pivots healthy.

**Reflect**: Reflect can be run on Hisuian Electrode as a last option to help teammates set up. Reflect can be especially useful on lead sets Hisuian Electrode now has the option to wear down Pokemon for cleaning or support incoming teammates.

**Chloroblast**: Chloroblast can be used as a last resort option on certain breaking sets where Hisuian Electrode needs to do as much damage as possible. Similar to Volt Switch, Chloroblast can also be used to force a difficult matchup for opposing Pokemon, assuming Hisuian Electrode has lost half of its health. Would also just add that it can be used to feint in front of a specific opposing mon to enable a setup sweeper.

Common Items
========
**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots ensures Hisuian Electrode can remain healthy throughout the match in order to survive an attack from most Pokemon and retaliate to secure a KO or significant damage.

**Resistance Berries**: Resistance Berries can be useful in ensuring Hisuian Electrode survives an opposing attack and retaliates for important damage or a KO. would move this to niche

**Choice Specs**: In matchups against weaker Ground-types Choice Specs can help Hisuian Electrode break as the opponent now has to make significantly riskier decisions when selecting a pivot against Hisuian Electrode.

Niche Items
========
**Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet Hisuian Electrode can prove to be a nuisance in matchups with weaker or resisted physical attackers. Combined with Aftermath or Static, Rocky Helmet can be used on Hisuian Electrode to quickly apply chip

**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack can be used with Leaf Storm for a stronger, Grass-type Volt Switch. would move this to top of niche, and also explain that its a way for electrode-h to pivot against potential incoming ground types like Landorus-T and Garchomp.

**Choice Scarf**: With a Choice Scarf Hisuian Electrode outpaces the entire metagame including Choice Scarf users (barring Regieleki) and a significant portion of the format with doubled speed. Choice Scarf can be a useful item to revenge kill opposing Choice Scarf, setup, or weather users.

**Miracle Seed / Magnet Damage-Boosting Items**: Miracle Seed or Magnet can be used in matchups where hazards are less relevant, and Hisuian Electrode requires the ability to switch moves without leaving the field. Would move this to bottom of Common and would also add a section on Life Orb

Tera
========
Hisuian Electrode by no means requires Tera to be a key part of a successful team. However, Hisuian Electrode thrives as a Tera Captain since it gains access to stronger STAB coverage, or new coverage entirely, allowing it to handle its check and counters at a significantly greater capacity. Both Electric and Grass-types are useful Tera types as they provide Hisuian Electrode with increased pivoting damage or stronger Ground-type coverage respectively. If Tera Ice is not worth the increased hazard damage and frailer defensive typing in a particular matchup, Tera Fairy allows Hisuian Electrode to still take on Dragon- and Grass-type opposition while at the same time becoming a better defensive type.

Draft Strategy
========
Hisuian Electrode is not the centerpoint of a team, nor is it generally an early pick, meaning the focus of draft strategy will have already been placed on more valuable Pokemon and greater overarching strategies. However, Hisuian Electrode can complement a variety of draft teams as the speed and reliable pivoting it offers can benefit a wide variety of Pokemon and playstyles.

**Strong Water-Type**: Pokemon such as Palafin and Hisuian Samurott benefit greatly from having a fast and purposeful pivot to weaken opposing Pokemon with Electric and Grass-type coverage, allowing for more potential for them to sweep later in the game. Once Hiusian Electrode pivots in it can wear down opposing Pokemon with its STAB coverage and status moves, or Volt Switch on the opposing check to maintain momentum.

**Bulky Offense**: Hisuian Electrode synergizes with Pokemon who function in a bulky offense playstyle as Hisuian Electrode can make use of its STAB offenses, combined with Volt Switch to create advantageous positions for teammates. Pokemon such as Galarian Slowking and Heatran can pivot in from a Volt Switch and wear down teams with hazards and reliable coverage, while Pokemon like Dragonite and Azumarill can pivot in and start breaking teams immediately.

**Anti-Grass-Type Breakers**: (or however you wanna phrase it), mons like Chi-Yu, Torn, Kyurem who punish the grass types that commonly come in on electrode's volt switch

**Hazard Stacking**: Since Hisuian Electrode naturally outspeeds all Defog users, and benefits greatly from hazards when using Volt Switch, Hisuian Electrode works well as a teammate alongside reliable hazard users. Pokemon like Mew or Krookodile not only can set up hazards but use Knock Off to eliminate opposing Heavy-Duty Boots which can assist Hisuian Electrode in applying pressure. **Priority**: The pressure Hisuian Electrode provides throughout a match can effectively put Pokemon like Kingambit, Dragonite and other priority users in positions to pick up KOs throughout a match or sweep outright.

Checks and Counters
========
**Dragon- & Grass-types**: If Hisuian Electrode is not a Tera Captain Dragon- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Hydrapple, Goodra, Amoonguss can prove to be challenging or impossible to break. However Hisuian Electrode can outspeed and Volt Switch on the majority of its checks, providing some chip for the incoming pivot.

**Special Walls**: Pokemon with high special bulk can prevent Hisuian Electrode from making significant progress without dramatically altering its sets from its conventional roles. Against Pokemon such as Blissey and Chansey, Hisuian Electrode can use a combination of Leech Seed and Taunt to pester its walls, but in most cases it will be forced to Volt Switch into a breaker. In addition, any Pokemon with Assault Vest will also temper Hisuian Electrode's ability to wear down the opposing team. Be sure to scout for Assault Vest users or Pokemon invested in special bulk with Volt Switch if possible.

**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 5-76 points just feels a little outdated

**Overview**: Hisuian Electrode has the unique combination of two rare attributes in its typing and speed that can change the dynamic of a draft team at a low cost. Its Electric / Grass typing allows it to offensively independently handle most Ground-types, setting it apart from most fast Electric-type Pokemon, while its base 150 Speed stat allows it to outpace the entire metagame with few exceptions. As a result, Hisuian Electrode has viable uses in pivoting, breaking, supporting and sweeping in a way no other low-tier Pokemon offers. This doesn’t discuss the negatives, why’s it only 5-6pts? The first sentence feels like fluff tho but maybe that’s just me, I’ll let gp decide

Common Roles
========
**Fast Pivot**: Hisuian Electrode is primarily used to force damage and disadvantageous positions on the opponent through its combination of STAB moves.

**Sweeper**: Hisuian Electrode can act as a useful sweeper once opposing Pokemon are scouted for Choice Scarf. Since Hisuian Electrode will have similar movesets as a pivot and a sweeper the role it has can change throughout a match. Could these roles merge into one? As in Fast Pivot / Cleaner, seems better than way imo

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Volt Switch, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Grass Knot

**Setup Moves**: Charge Beam

**Utility Moves**: Taunt, Thunder Wave

**Coverage**: Tera Blast, Foul Play

Niche Moves
========

**Resistance Berries**: Resistance Berries can be useful in ensuring Hisuian Electrode survives an opposing attack and retaliates for important damage or a KO. I don’t rly understand this, the implication is ur meant to be faster in the first place no? Would need rewording and id deffo move it below specs/top of niche even then

**Choice Specs**: In matchups against weaker Ground-types Choice Specs can help Hisuian Electrode break as the opponent now has to make significantly riskier decisions when selecting a pivot against Hisuian Electrode.

Niche Items
========

Would mention that it’s one time use

You’re forgetting deo speed too so maybe change this to almost all choice Scarf users

**Miracle Seed / Magnet**: Miracle Seed or Magnet can be used in matchups where hazards are less relevant, and Hisuian Electrode requires the ability to switch moves without leaving the field.

Tera
========
Hisuian Electrode by no means requires Tera to be a key part of a successful team. However, Hisuian Electrode thrives as a secondary Tera Captain since it gains access to stronger STAB coverage, or new coverage entirely, allowing it to handle its check and counters at a significantly greater capacity. Both Electric and Grass-types are useful Tera types as they provide Hisuian Electrode with increased pivoting damage or stronger Ground-type coverage respectively.

Needs a third example, maybe gren?

**Bulky Offense**: Hisuian Electrode synergizes with Pokemon who function in a bulky offense playstyle as Hisuian Electrode can make use of its STAB offenses, combined with Volt Switch to create advantageous positions for teammates. Pokemon such as Galarian Slowking and Heatran can pivot in from a Volt Switch and wear down teams with hazards and reliable coverage, while Pokemon like Dragonite and Azumarill can pivot in and start breaking teams immediately.

Taunt can also be used to prevent opposing Defog from removing hazards. Mew is rarely a hazard mon anymore, it’s primarily a sweeper in SV so id change it. Again also needs a third example

**Priority**: The pressure Hisuian Electrode provides throughout a match can effectively put Pokemon like Kingambit, Dragonite and other priority users in positions to pick up KOs throughout a match or sweep outright. 3rd example, would make mention of ice shard specifically to here so if you wanted you could swap a third example to mention ice shard and users such as weav bax

Checks and Counters
========

In addition, any Pokemon with Assault Vest will also temper Hisuian Electrode's ability to wear down the opposing team. Be sure to scout for Assault Vest users or Pokemon invested in special bulk with Volt Switch if possible. Blissey and chansey feel like bad examples since they 5/7pt Undrafted mons usually, needs 3 again, id use mons like fez, deo d, scream tail

Stamping this as QC1. sqoiche you can implement these changes and then update to QC 1/2

Thanks. I've gone through the post and I've been working on changes bit by bit over the week. There are a couple things that I will edit with the QC comments (Lando-T under the Eject Pack section is not an example of using Eject Pack+Leaf Storm [ik you still switch just not with damage], Life Orb is niche compared to the other two stab-boosting items imo because keeping the ball healthy to take one hit is crucial) but everything else I think is a great addition to the article.

========

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Volt Switch, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Grass Knot

**Setup Moves**: Charge Beam

**Utility Moves**: Taunt, Thunder Wave

**Coverage**: Tera Blast, Foul Play

Niche Moves
========

Common Items
========

Niche Items
========

Would mention that it’s one time use

Tera
========
Ice is another natural Tera type option as it grants Hisuian Electrode BoltBeam coverage with Tera Blast, allowing it to take on Dragon- and Grass-types more effectively. If Tera Ice is not worth the increased hazard damage and frailer defensive typing in a particular matchup, Tera Fairy allows Hisuian Electrode to still take on Dragon- and Grass-type opposition while at the same time becoming a better defensive type.

Draft Strategy
========

========

Blissey and chansey feel like bad examples since they 5/7pt Undrafted mons usually, needs 3 again, id use mons like fez, deo d, scream tail

Added your edits and Addi's edits too. I didn't change the initial sentence in the overview because I feel like if that's the only sentence someone reads in the article an inexperienced player can get a general understanding of why the Pokemon has a reason to be used. I'm not sure if it is too fluffy but I can modify it down the line if gp decides. Also I'll axe the resist berries section. I was trying (and failing) to say that it could be used to pivot into a move and then attack the next turn, or if electrode needs two turns it can hit then resist a move then hit back next turn. Seems too much and honestly in my HE runs I even used helmet and way nicher items more.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 5-6 points

**Overview**: Hisuian Electrode has the unique combination of two rare attributes in its typing and speed that can change the dynamic of a draft team at a low cost. Its Electric / Grass typing allows it to offensively independently handle most Ground-types this isn’t rly true, tmk every ground between tusk and krook (chomp treads landot landoi drill gliscor) can handle it consistently, some even handling specs to the point where id focus less on the fact that it handles ground types and that it can pick off weakened ones OR that the typing allows it to handle some ground types that others can’t, because smth like thundy unironically handles those mons better than a to focus blast, setting it apart from most fast Electric-type Pokemon, while its base 150 Speed stat allows it to outpace the entire metagame with few exceptions. As a result, Hisuian Electrode has viable uses in pivoting, breaking, supporting and sweeping in a way no other low-tier Pokemon offers. That being said, Hisuian Electrode's low Special Attack stat and frail bulk is what keeps it from becoming a more valuable Pokemon as it relies on stronger and bulkier teammates to pivot into.

Common Roles
========
**Fast Pivot / Cleaner**: Hisuian Electrode is primarily used to force damage and disadvantageous positions on the opponent through Volt Switch, alongside stronger STAB moves which apply pressure for other teammates or secure KOs outright. Hisuian Electrode can then act as a useful sweeper once opposing Choice Scarf users are removed from play.

Reflect can also see viability as Hisuian Electrode can better support other teammates from physical moves, allowing teammates more potential to break, sweep or support throughout a match.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Volt Switch, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain

**Setup Moves**: Charge Beam

**Utility Moves**: Taunt, Thunder Wave

**Coverage**: Tera Blast, Foul Play

Niche Moves
========

Similar to Volt Switch, Chloroblast can also be used to force a difficult matchup for opposing Pokemon. Assuming Hisuian Electrode has lost half of its health, Chloroblast can be used to deal massive damage while at the same time fainting to bring in Pokemon that can exploit the matchup for setup.

Common Items
========
**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots ensures Hisuian Electrode can remain healthy throughout the match in order to survive an attack from most Pokemon and retaliate to secure a KO or significant damage.

**Choice Specs**: In matchups against weaker Ground-types Choice Specs can help Hisuian Electrode break as the opponent now has to make significantly riskier decisions when selecting a pivot against Hisuian Electrode.

**Miracle Seed / Magnet**: Miracle Seed or Magnet can be used in matchups where hazards are less relevant, and Hisuian Electrode requires the ability to switch moves without leaving the field.

Niche Items
========
**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack can be used with Leaf Storm for a stronger, single-use Grass-type Volt Switch. Eject Pack can be used safely to get damage on an Electric immunity that is not weak to Grass-type moves such as Garchomp, Gliscor or Iron Treads.

**Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet Hisuian Electrode can prove to be a nuisance in matchups with weaker or resisted physical attackers. Combined with Aftermath or Static, Rocky Helmet can be used on Hisuian Electrode to quickly apply chip.

**Choice Scarf**: With a Choice Scarf Hisuian Electrode outpaces the entire metagame including Choice Scarf users (barring Regieleki and Deoxys-Speed) and a significant portion of the format with doubled speed. Choice Scarf can be a useful item to revenge kill opposing Choice Scarf, setup, or weather users.

**Life Orb**: Life Orb is viable when both Electric- and Grass-type moves need higher damage outputs but becomes has diminishing returns when used against bulkier teams or in matchups where Hisuian Electrode needs to survive a strong attack to pivot.

Tera
========

========

**Strong Water-Type**: Pokemon such as Palafin, Greninja and Urshifu-Rapid-Strike benefit greatly from having a fast and purposeful pivot to weaken opposing Pokemon with Electric and Grass-type coverage, allowing for more potential for them to sweep later in the game.

**Grass-Resistant Breakers**: Due to Hisuian Electrode's ability to pressure most Ground-type Pokemon, Grass-types become the next best check. As a result, having a Pokemon that takes advantage of a Volt Switch against an incoming Grass-type can prove useful in breaking the opposing team. Breakers such as Chi-Yu, Sneasler or Kyurem can all apply immediate pressure against Grass-types forcing the opponent to switch into a strong attack, or sacrifice the Hisuian Electrode check. Discussed in QC and decided this wasn’t needed

**Hazard Stacking**: Since Hisuian Electrode naturally outspeeds all Defog users, and benefits greatly from hazards when using Volt Switch, Hisuian Electrode works well as a teammate alongside reliable hazard users. Pokemon like Hisuian Samurott, Krookodile or Deoxys-Speed not only can set up hazards but use Knock Off to eliminate opposing Heavy-Duty Boots which can assist Hisuian Electrode in applying pressure. Taunt can also be used to prevent opposing Defog from removing hazards. Would rename to Entry Hazard Setters

**Priority**: The pressure Hisuian Electrode provides throughout a match can effectively put Pokemon like Kingambit, Dragonite and Weavile in positions to pick up KOs throughout a match or sweep outright.

Checks and Counters
========

Against Pokemon such as Clodsire, Galarian Slowking, and Gliscor, Hisuian Electrode can use a combination of Leech Seed and Taunt to pester its walls, but in most cases it will be forced to Volt Switch or double into a breaker. In addition, any Pokemon with Assault Vest will also temper Hisuian Electrode's ability to wear down the opposing team.

========

2/2 - in the future please don’t change the thread title until you’ve implemented QC1. Didn’t realise this at the time so mb for not saying sooner
Apologies! I got through most of Addi's edits by the time I posted that Thursday post so I added QC1 but I'll hold off on the next one.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 5-6 points

**Overview**: Hisuian Electrode has the unique combination of two rare attributes in its typing and Speed that can change the dynamic of a draft team at a low cost. Its Electric / Grass typing allows it to offensively and independently pick off weakened Ground-type checks better than most Electric-type counterparts, while its base 150 Speed stat allows it to outpace nearly the entire metagame with few exceptions. As a result, Hisuian Electrode has viable uses in pivoting, breaking wallbreaking, supporting teammates, (AC) and sweeping in a way no other low-tier Pokemon offers. That being said, Hisuian Electrode's its low Special Attack stat and frail bulk is what keeps it from becoming a more valuable Pokemon, (AC) as it relies on stronger and bulkier teammates to pivot into to.

Common Roles
========
**Fast Pivot / Cleaner**: Hisuian Electrode is primarily used to force damage and disadvantageous positions on the opponent put foes in disadvantageous positions through Volt Switch (RC) alongside and stronger STAB moves, (AC) which apply pressure for other teammates or secure KOs outright. Hisuian Electrode It can then act as a useful sweeper once opposing Choice Scarf users are removed from play. Since Hisuian Electrode will have it has similar movesets as a pivot and a sweeper, (AC) the role it has can change throughout a match.

**Fast Utility**: Hisuian Electrode can invest the majority of its EVs into its bulk while still outspeeding the entire opposing team, allowing it to reliably status opposing Pokemon and help its teammates break wallbreak and clean. Thunder Wave can be used for speed control, while Taunt can be used to force switches. Reflect can also see viability as Hisuian Electrode can better support other teammates from physical moves, allowing teammates more potential to break wallbreak, sweep, (AC) and or support each other throughout a match.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Volt Switch, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain

**Setup Moves**: Charge Beam

**Utility Moves**: Taunt, Thunder Wave

**Coverage**: Tera Blast, Foul Play

Niche Moves
========
**Leech Seed**: Leech Seed has viable uses in matchups where Hisuian Electrode can invest EVs into its bulk in order to wear down bulkier Pokemon. Leech Seed pairs well with Volt Switch to force momentum in the users user's favor while potentially keeping other pivots healthy.

**Reflect**: Reflect can be run on Hisuian Electrode as a last option to help teammates set up. Reflect It can be especially useful on lead sets Hisuian Electrode now has the option to wear down Pokemon foes for cleaning or support incoming teammates.

**Chloroblast**: Chloroblast can be used as a last resort option on certain breaking wallbreaking sets where Hisuian Electrode needs to do as much damage as possible. Similar to Volt Switch, Chloroblast can It can be also be used to force a difficult matchup for opposing Pokemon. Assuming Hisuian Electrode has lost half of its health, Chloroblast can be used to deal knock itself out while dealing massive damage while at the same time fainting to bring in Pokemon that can exploit the matchup for setup. Reworded this a bit - took out a lot of fluff

Common Items
========
**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots ensures Hisuian Electrode can remain healthy throughout the match in order to survive an attack from most Pokemon and retaliate to secure a KO or significant damage.

**Choice Specs**: In matchups against weaker Ground-types, (AC) Choice Specs can help Hisuian Electrode break as wallbreak, forcing the opponent now has to make significantly riskier decisions when selecting a pivot against Hisuian Electrode it.

**Miracle Seed / Magnet**: Miracle Seed or and Magnet can be used in matchups where entry hazards are less relevant (RC) and when Hisuian Electrode requires the ability to switch moves without leaving the field.

Niche Items
========
**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack can be used with Leaf Storm for a stronger, single-use Grass-type Volt Switch pivoting option. Eject Pack can be used safely I wouldn't say safely tbh, it's not 100% accurate to get damage on an Electric immunity Electric-immune Pokemon that is not weak to Grass-type moves such as Garchomp, Gliscor, (AC) and or Iron Treads.

**Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet Hisuian Electrode can prove to be a nuisance for foes in matchups with weaker or resisted physical attackers. Combined with Aftermath or Static, Rocky Helmet it can be used on Hisuian Electrode to quickly apply chip damage.

**Choice Scarf**: With a Choice Scarf, (AC) Hisuian Electrode outpaces the entire metagame, (AC) including opposing Choice Scarf users (barring Regieleki idt this is worth mentioning, nobody is ever running scarf deo-s or regieleki, and +1 eleki doesnt do much to electrode regardless and Deoxys-Speed) and a significant portion of the format with doubled speed. Choice Scarf can be a useful item to revenge kill opposing Choice Scarf, setup, or weather users.

**Life Orb**: Life Orb is viable when both Electric- and Grass-type moves need higher damage outputs, (AC) but becomes it has diminishing returns when used against bulkier teams or in matchups where Hisuian Electrode needs to survive a strong attack to pivot.

Tera
========
Hisuian Electrode by no means requires Tera to be a key part of a successful team. However, Hisuian Electrode it thrives as a Tera Captain, (AC) since it gains access to stronger STAB coverage (RC) moves or new coverage entirely, allowing it to handle its checks and counters at a significantly greater capacity. Both Tera Electric and Grass-types Grass are useful Tera types, (AC) as they provide Hisuian Electrode with increased pivoting damage or stronger Ground-type coverage damage against Ground-types, (AC) ground type coverage would be ground type moves respectively. Ice is another natural Tera type option as it Ice grants Hisuian Electrode BoltBeam coverage with Tera Blast, allowing it to take on Dragon- and Grass-types more effectively. If Tera Ice is not worth the increased entry hazard damage and frailer defensive typing in a particular matchup, Tera Fairy allows Hisuian Electrode it to still take on Dragon- and Grass-type opposition while at the same time becoming a better defensive type. implied with the start of the sentence

Draft Strategy
========
Hisuian Electrode is not the centerpoint of a team, nor is it generally an early pick (RC) meaning the focus of draft strategy will have already been placed on more valuable Pokemon and greater overarching strategies. However, Hisuian Electrode it can complement a variety of draft teams, (AC) as the Speed and reliable pivoting it offers can benefit a wide variety of many different Pokemon and playstyles.

**Strong Water-Type Water-types**: Pokemon such as Palafin, Greninja, (AC) and Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Urshifu-R benefit greatly from having a fast and purposeful pivot to weaken opposing Pokemon with Electric- and Grass-type coverage, allowing for more potential for them to sweep later in the game late-game. Once Hiusian Electrode pivots in, (AC) it can wear down opposing Pokemon with its STAB coverage and status moves (RC) or use Volt Switch on the opposing check to maintain momentum.

**Bulky Offense**: Hisuian Electrode synergizes with Pokemon who that function in a bulky offense playstyle, (AC) as Hisuian Electrode it can make use of its STAB offenses (RC) moves combined with Volt Switch to create advantageous positions for teammates. Pokemon such as Galarian Slowking and Heatran can pivot in from a Volt Switch and wear down teams with entry hazards and reliable coverage, while Pokemon like Dragonite and Azumarill can pivot in and start breaking teams immediately.

**Entry Hazard Setters**: Since Hisuian Electrode naturally outspeeds all Defog users (RC) and benefits greatly from entry hazards when using Volt Switch, Hisuian Electrode it works well as a teammate alongside reliable hazard users. Pokemon like Hisuian Samurott, Krookodile, (AC) and Deoxys-S or Deoxys-Speed not only can set up hazards, (AC) but also use Knock Off to eliminate opposing Heavy-Duty Boots, (AC) which can assist Hisuian Electrode in applying pressure. Taunt can also be used to prevent opposing Defog from removing hazards.

**Priority**: The pressure Hisuian Electrode provides throughout a match can effectively put Pokemon like Kingambit, Dragonite, (AC) and Weavile in positions to pick up KOs throughout a match or sweep outright.

Checks and Counters
========
**Dragon- & and Grass-types**: If Hisuian Electrode is not a Tera Captain, (AC) Dragon- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Hydrapple, Goodra, and Amoonguss can prove to be challenging or impossible to break. However Hisuian Electrode can outspeed and Volt Switch on the majority of its checks, providing some chip for the incoming pivot (RP)

**Special Walls**: Pokemon with high special bulk such as Clodsire and Galarian Slowking can prevent Hisuian Electrode from making significant progress without dramatically altering its sets from its conventional roles. Against Pokemon such as Clodsire, Galarian Slowking, and Gliscor, Hisuian Electrode can use a combination of Leech Seed and Taunt to pester its walls, but in most cases it will be forced to Volt Switch or double into a breaker (RP) In addition, any many Pokemon with Assault Vest will can also temper Hisuian Electrode's its ability to wear down the opposing team. Checks & Counters should focus on what beats the mon, not how the mon gets around the checks. That's covered in the rest of the analysis. I also removed Gliscor as an example here cause it isnt really that specially bulky
