[SET COMMENTS]
Hisuian Voltorb is one of LC's premier pivots thanks to its 20 Speed stat, STAB Volt Switch, and its excellent offensive typing. Volt Switch allows Hisuian Voltorb to capitalize on the switches it forces with its Speed and coverage and inflict valuable chip damage on slower threats like Alolan Grimer and Glimmet while keeping Hisuian Voltorb safe and retaining momentum. Giga Drain threatens Ground-types like Mudbray and Alolan Diglett while healing Hisuian Voltorb enough to avoid some 2HKOs. Tera Blast Fire or Ice gives it near-perfect coverage and hits the aforementioned checks as well as opposing Grass-types; Tera Blast Normal can also be Hisuian Voltorb's best option to chip opposing Hisuian Voltorb and Wattrel before Terastallizing. Tera Fire is a more reliable choice for its super effective coverage against Steel-types and its greater defensive utility, including against opposing Hisuian Voltorb, while Tera Ice hits Wattrel, Axew, and Toedscool. Protect prevents Nymble from revenge killing Hisuian Voltorb with First Impression and allowsit to scout for opposing Tera types and Choice Scarf users like Grookey. Thunderbolt is an alternate choice that hits harder than Hisuian Voltorb's other STAB moves and compensates for its relatively low Special Attack. Static can occasionally punish physical attackers and sweepers for hitting Hisuian Voltorb in emergency situations.
Gothita is a natural partner for Hisuian Voltorb, as it can trap and KO its common check in Foongus when it switches into Volt Switch. Hisuian Voltorb pairs well with physical attackers like Mudbray, Grookey, and Crabrawler that want to avoid Will-O-Wisp from Drifloon. It also complements Fire-types like Numel by switching into their Water-type checks like Shellos. Conversely, Mudbray and Shellos help handle Numel, which otherwise pressures and sets up on Hisuian Voltorb. Wattrel is one of the most reliable checks to Hisuian Voltorb without Tera Ice, since it resists or is immune to both its STAB moves, so Hisuian Voltorb greatly appreciates Stealth Rock support from the likes of Mudbray and Glimmet to help wear it down. Hisuian Voltorb struggles to break through Alolan Grimer and Glimmet, so it appreciates Mudbray and Alolan Grimer to take hits from them. Axew often attempts to set up on Hisuian Voltorb without Tera Ice, so Pawniard and Tinkatink can be valuable partners to check and revenge kill it. Hisuian Voltorb is weak to Stealth Rock after it Terastallizes, so entry hazard removal from Drifloon or Toedscool is valuable.
