[OVERVIEW]

Hitmonlee is statistically the most powerful Fighting-type Pokemon in UU and is blessed with a myriad of attack options to complement its impressive stats. It's movepool combined with its brute force and useful ability make it an excellent choice on any offensive UU team.

[SET]

name: Choice
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Mach Punch / Sucker Punch / Blaze Kick
item: Choice Band / Choice Scarf
ability: Limber
nature: Adamant / Jolly
evs: 40 HP / 252 Attack / 216 Speed

[SET COMMENTS]

Hitmonlee's powerful offensive stats make it an ideal candidate for a choice item. A Choice Scarf allows it to outspeed all of UU while the Choice Band variant can even OHKO Steelix. Close Combat is Hitmonlee's most reliable STAB attack while Earthquake massacres the ubiquitous Poison-types that resist Fighting-type attacks. Stone Edge is used primarily for Altaria and Moltres, who would otherwise wall this set. Mach Punch and Sucker Punch allow the Choice Band set to bypass Hitmonlee's average speed while Blaze Kick deals with Grass / Poison Pokemon that are neutral to the set's other moves and is the best option for the Choice Scarf set.

Depending on which item you choose, Hitmonlee will play a different role on your team. The Choice Scarfer is best suited to being a revenge killer or check against faster Pokemon while the Choice Band variant should be used to muscle through slower, bulkier Pokemon on the opposing team. The Choice Bander is much more vulnerable to being revenge killed itself while the Scarfer may not have the power to break through a defensive Pokemon.

The given EVs are for the Choice Scarfer. If using the Choice Band set, Hitmonlee's Attack and Speed should be maximized.

[ADDITONAL COMMENTS]

Despite its overwhelming power, Hitmonlee is still obstructed by bulkier foes such as Slowbro, Claydol, and Uxie as well as Ghost-type Pokemon that enjoy switching into Close Combat. Spiritomb works perfectly with Hitmonlee since it can Pursuit or Sucker Punch the Ghost-types that are immune to Close Combat and is sturdy enough to take on bulkier Psychics with STAB Dark-type attacks. Weezing is essentially the only threat to this set that cannot be stopped by Spiritomb, so packing a Pokemon such as Houndoom, who can absorb Will-o-wisp and OHKO with Fire Blast, to deal with it would greatly benefit a Close Combat sweep. Entry Hazards set up by Pokemon such as Roserade or Claydol also ease Hitmonlee's job as they help it deal with the likes of Moltres and Slowbro. Roserade also comes with the added benefit of being able to deal with bulky Water-types that stand in Hitmonlee's path.

[SET]

name: Life Orb
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Mach Punch
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Stone Edge / Sucker Punch
item: Life Orb
ability: Limber
nature: Adamant / Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed

[SET COMMENTS]

Life Orb makes Hitmonlee less vulnerable than a Choice Band does while still providing it with adequate power. Close Combat is once again Hitmonlee's most reliable STAB attack while Mach Punch picks off faster, weaker foes. Earthquake hits grounded Poison-types that resist Close Combat. Stone Edge gives Hitmonlee coverage against Flying-types while Sucker Punch can be used to pick off faster Psychic Pokemon. Bulk Up can be used in the last slot, though Close Combat nullifies the Defense boost.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Hitmonlee is more versatile in this set than in a Choice Set, though at the cost of either power or celerity. Spiritomb and Houndoom remain Hitmonlee's most reliable partners due to their ability to take on anything that stops it. Entry hazard support also remains helpful, though it may be even more important than on the previous set due to Life Orb's lesser power. This set plays similarly to the the previous one, but the ability to switch attacks and the inclusion of Mach Punch as a staple attack allows it to adapt to new threats more easily.

[SET]

name: Reversal
move 1: Substitute / Endure
move 2: Reversal
move 3: Stone Edge / Earthquake
move 4: Bulk Up / Sucker Punch
item: Salac Berry
ability: Limber
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed

[SET COMMENTS]

This is potentially Hitmonlee's most destructive set, allowing him to fire off STAB 200 BP Reversals while outspeeding everything in UU. Once its counters are removed, Hitmonlee should Endure a hit or Substitute down to 1 HP to forcibly activate Salac Berry while powering up Reversal. From there, Hitmonlee has enough power and speed to cause interplanetary collisions with a single Reversal and will rampage through the entirety of an opposing team. Earthquake works against grounded Poisons while Stone Edge hits Altaria and friends, though both can be used. Bulk Up can further power up Hitmonlee while Sucker Punch deals with Choice Scarf Ghosts and Psychics.

As with any Hitmonlee set, Spiritomb should eliminate any counters before an attempted sweep. Claydol can support Hitmonlee with screens and entry hazards while spinning away opposing entry hazards. More than any other set, this version of Hitmonlee is particularly vulnerable to priority attacks. Milotic can withstand most of the priority attacks in UU from Mach Punch to Aqua Jet.

[OPTIONAL CHANGES]

Hitmonlee possesses Rapid Spin and Focus Punch, though it is much more suited to a beat down type sweeper role. Its Reckless ability, though often overshadowed by the more useful Limber, can be paired with Double Edge to dent would-be counter such as Uxie. Bulk Up can be used on the Life Orb set to make a sturdy late game sweeper, though Close Combat's effect nullifies the Defense boosts.

The Choice Scarf set only needs 216 Speed EVs with an Adamant nature to outspeed every Pokemon in UU, though a Jolly nature can be used to outpace other Choice Scarfers. All other sets should maximize Speed and Attack.

This needs some fat, its far too thin and general (your comments). You seriously need to broaden some descriptions and describe how each set functions instead of listing what hits what. Remember, we are cutting superfluous information and random fluff, we are not cutting words from the analysis because its long. My two cents.
