Hmm, offensive bulky much?

Ok, so I've been using this team for a while and its been doing reasonably good. There is no definite strategy, just to attack the opponent and switching to appropriate counters / pokes for the situation. I sort of made a team to try to counter/deal with some of the biggest threats of todays metagame.

Moltres @ Choice Scarf
Modest | Pressure
EV's: 252 SpA / 200 Spe / 40 Def / 12 SpD

- Fire Blast / Overheat
- Air Slash
- Will-o-Wisp
- Hidden Power [Ice]

The generic Fire type / Scarf. Moltres is a pretty bird that more then scares any lead Steel type or most of July's common leads according to Shoddy:

1. Bronzong
2. Gengar
3. Gyarados
4. Tyranitar
5. Azelf
6. Salamence
7. Roserade
8. Hippowdon
9. Ninjask
10. Yanmega

Aerodactyl who has also been popping up is outsped and taken care of by HP Ice.

Bronzong wouldn't dare stand in Moltres' way bar a super 252 SpD Occa Berry Zong. Gengar, who fails to OHKO even with Life Orb Thunderbolt, is taken care of with Fire Blast. Gyarados, who is outsped gets Will-o-Wisp'd and fails to OHKO with Waterfall and later taken care of. Tyranitar is the one that I have to watch out for though, even with WoW Stone Edges crit rate along with its STAB, base power, and my 4x weak may be enough to take Moltres down. Azelf is outsped and OHKO'd by Overheat. Salamence is dealt with with Hidden Power Ice, and Roserade wouldn't dare stay in fearing both STABs, allowing me to WoW the switch-in. Hippowdon is easily taken care of with HP Ice and Ninjask and Yanmega will get spammed by Air Slashes / Fire Blasts.

If the situation is in my favor then I can predict a switch and WoW the switch-in.

Def EV's allow it to live Waterfalls from Gyarados and other attacks once they have been Will-o-Wisped, and SpD EV's along with its bulk allows it to live an array of attacks, should it be outsped.

Hitmontop @ Leftovers
Impish | Intimidate
EV's: 252 HP / 72 Def / 184 Spe

- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Toxic

Hitmontop would so be at least BL were his base HP a few points higher. Deals with what Moltres has problems with or may have problems with, while also clearing the field mid-game for Moltres and Salamence to get in again. Close Combat decimates Tyranitar, should it stay in, and Stone Edge hits Gyarados, Salamence, and any other flier. Toxic has saved me from long stall wars and is also useful on ghost switch-ins.

Metagross @ Leftovers / Shed Shell
Adamant | Clear Body
EV's: 252 HP / 176 Atk / 80 SpD

- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash

Bulky ResTalk Gross. Easily takes status from walls such as Blissey, Dusknoir, Spiritomb, etc. and threatens them without fearing an attack drop from WoW. Leftovers helps me in the long run, but then I'm basically a sitting duck for a lucky Dugtrio or Magnezone. I decided to dump the rest in SpD since his Def was already reasonably bulky enough, unless there's a reason to bulk up on Def like surviving a Tyranitar's Earthquake?

Salamence @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Adamant | Intimidate
EV's: 252 Atk / 120 Hp / 112 Spe / 24 Def

- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast / Stone Edge / Roost

Salamence is a reliable sweeper at any point in the game. Need help on the item, life orb will increase power, while leftovers would help in the long run. Spe EV's allow it to hit 396 Spe after 1 DD outspeeding everything up to Jolteon. Set's up on things like Heracross / SDLuke who after intimidated won't do much to Salamence, especially if Hera is stuck in a Scarfed Close Combat / Megahorn. Hp allows it to switch into SR 4 times, should it be on the field, and Def was thrown in as it was extra EV's. Fire Blast deals with Skarmory should it have hidden itself from Moltres, while Stone Edge hits other fliers, and Roost / Life Orb + Bulky is always good.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Impish | Serene Grace
EV's: 240 HP / 252 Def / 12 SpD

- Wish
- U-Turn
- Light Screen / Stealth Rock
- Zen Headbutt

Passes wish to keep the reasonably bulky stuff alive. I decided to tweak the standard EV's a bit since I'm not too worried about Heracross ruining this team. As with most other teams my team fears random Hidden Powers and mispredictions on my part so Light Screen is there. Jircahi / Salamence has always been popular as they cover each others weaknesses. Zen Headbutt so I'm not Taunt / Set-up fodder, plus paired with Serene Grace can get me some Flinch Hax. Stealth Rock allows me to ruin Sashes and allow some 2HKO's or OHKO's.

Deoxys-s @ Life Orb
Naive | Pressure
EV's: 160 Atk / 252 SpA / 96 Spe

- Shadow Ball
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Superpower

Totally cleans up late-game with the presence of Spiritombs gone. Naive because I want to be able to have a chance of living random physical priority moves. Shadow Ball being my only effective way of hitting Ghosts / Psychics, BoltBeam for coverage, and Superpower to cleanup on Blissey.

I might add a threat list later.. right now too tired.

Just for the information, Hippowdon takes more damage by Fire Blast then HP Ice.
U-Turn is a pretty decent option. Fire Blast, HP Ice and W-o-W already seems to cover pretty much everything, and seeing how 80% of the leads is forced to switch gives Moltres a really good opportunity to scout a little.

Suicune walks all over you. Deoxys-S can hurt it, but is pretty useless if Suicune has a Calm Mind. Water types in general hurt you, like Starmie. Nothing can take Surf and Ice Beam very well. A Calm Zapdos, maybe even with Roar could help you a lot in the long run. Sure it don't resist Ice, but it easily Roost off the damage and threaten the opponent with STAB Thunderbolt.

I don't get how you exactly plan to take out the Spiritomb that already walls half your team (Hitmontop, Jirachi, Deoxys) and with Salamence fearing burn. Hitmontop getting burned won't help with it having to be around to SR for Moltres to be the only thing close to switching into Spiritomb. I personally think you should go more offensive. Why use bulky Metagross when you can try to get Jirachi to wall the same things. With the way people think nowadays, example, like you, an Agility Metagross would do a lot more damage to people.

I'd also probably scared as hell of ScarfHeatran, which means we can try something random like Blastoise over Hitmontop, who can Rapid Spin, as well as stop Gyarados (since Gyarados owns the fuck out of Hitmontop either way).
