Ho-Oh @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 192 Def / 52 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Thunder Wave
- Defog / Whirlwind

Ho-Oh's solid support options make it a strong option in the current metagame. Sacred Fire is a solid STAB move that can spread burns to switch-ins like Zekrom and Eternatus. Brave Bird hits opposing Ho-Oh and lets it check Marshadow lacking Rock Tomb more effectively, as well as being harder to PP stall than Sacred Fire. Thunder Wave cripples faster switch-ins like Kyogre. Ho-Oh can freely give Defog support after forcing out Steel-types like Necrozma-DM, but Whirlwind can beat Substitute users like Geomancy Xerneas lacking Ingrain. Due to its high special bulk, Ho-Oh is a solid midground switch-in to Calyrex-S and, when paired with Yveltal, can greatly reduce Calyrex-S's pressure. It dislikes Zygarde, so Pokemon like Aromatherapy Xerneas and Zarude are good partners; in return, it can switch into Necrozma-DM lacking Stone Edge and Life Orb Eternatus. Kyogre also threatens it, so defensive partners like Blissey and Ferrothorn can switch into it for Ho-Oh. Offensive partners like Calyrex-I appreciate the pressure Ho-Oh puts on Steel-types.

Ho-Oh's solid support options make it a strong option in the current metagame. Sacred Fire is a solid STAB move that can spread burns to switch-ins (added hyphen) like Zekrom and Eternatus. Thunder Wave cripples faster switch-ins (added hyphen) like Kyogre. Ho-Oh can take advantage of forcing out Steel-types like Necrozma-DM to remove entry hazards with Defog, freely give Defog support after forcing out Steel-types like Necrozma-DM, but Whirlwind can beat Substitute users like Geomancy Xerneas lacking Ingrain. The EV spread lets it outspeed a paralyzed Calyrex-S while always living a +2 Xerneas Thunder. (read a little analysis-y, and don't think it's quite needed. if qc disagrees, though, just change "living" to "surviving" Due to its high special bulk, it Ho-Oh is a solid midground switch-in (added hyphen) to Calyrex-S and, (moved comma) when paired with Yveltal, can greatly reduce the pressure a team faces from Calyrex-S. Calyrex-S's pressure. It dislikes Zygarde, so Pokemon like Aromatherapy Xerneas and Zarude are good partners; in return, it can switch into Necrozma-DM lacking Stone Edge and Life Orb Eternatus.
