Work!
Time for closing and a few announcements
Italics = New, Underline = New to the Game

:rs/sunflora:
Concept Name: Weather Disruptor
Pokémon Name: Sunflora
Typing: Grass
Stats: 85/65/85/105/95/30 (Swapped Atk and Def, +10 to all stats except SpA and Spe)
Abilities: Desolate Land
Notable Moves: Solar Beam, Weather Ball, Synthesis, Growth, Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Stun Spore, Encore, Baton Pass
How It Fulfills the Concept: Yeah, when I meant "weather disruptor" I pretty much meant "Primal Weather Abuser" since that's probably the best way to disrupt weather in this meta in a balanced way. Anyway, Sunflora here uses Desolate Land to remove TTar's Sand or Delibird and Abomasnow's Hail and then pivot out with a super slow Baton Pass. While it still has pretty low stats overall, it has just enough special bulk to take a hit or two, which becomes a lot easier with permanent 67% recovery in Synthesis and its actually good 105 Special Attack allows it to hit extremely hard with STAB Solar Beam and pseudo-STAB Weather Balls while having space for extra coverage in HP Ice or utility in Leech Seed or Stun Spore. However, it won't end all weather wars thanks since, while it very easily beats each weather setter, each of them can beat it right back, so you have to be careful with how you bring it in to get rid of weather. Not to mention, it's stupidly slow, so you'll have to take a hit and use your 8 PP Synthesis a lot.
Sunflora @ Leftovers
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Solar Beam
- Weather Ball
- Synthesis
- Baton Pass

:xy/talonflame:
Concept Name: Viable Fire-type
Pokémon Name: Talonflame
Typing: Fire/Flying
Stats: 78/81/71/74/69/126
Abilities: Flame Body
Notable Moves: Acrobatics, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Rapid Spin, Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Whirlwind, Soft-Boiled
How It Fulfills the Concept: Oh, Rapid Spin user didn't win? Guess I'll do it myself. Anyway, seeing Talonflame may make you ask "Why should I use this over Moltres?" and to answer that question, there's 3 big reasons. First, that 126 Speed stat makes Talonflame one of the fastest Pokémon in the meta, which lets it be a decent revenge killer or get off Will-O-Wisps before an opposing physical attacker can move and it even has the 3rd fastest Taunt in the game. Secondly, it's a Rapid Spinner immune to Spikes (a trait only shared by Cryogonal and Jumpluff) and the fastest Rapid Spinner in the game, which allows it consistently get rid of Spikes, especially since it reliably beats down Skarmory and Forretress, two of the best Spikers in the tier. And 3rd, it has reliable recovery in Soft-Boiled (which was picked since 32 PP Recover is dumb and birds lay eggs and I think I'm funny), which allows it to stay on the field to Will-O-Wisp or Rapid Spin or Taunt or setup with Bulk Up much longer. Plus, reliable recovery makes going itemless for boosted Acrobatics more plausible. Overall, Talonflame can either be a great offensive utility mon or a dangerous setup sweeper with Bulk Up + Softboiled and Acrobatics
Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Toxic / Hidden Power [Grass] / Will-O-Wisp
- Soft-Boiled
- Rapid Spin

Talonflame
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Hidden Power [Fighting] / Will-O-Wisp / Substitute
- Soft-Boiled
- Bulk Up

Talonflame
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Taunt / Toxic
- Swords Dance

:rs/mawile:
Concept Name: Rock Resist With Reliable Recovery
Pokémon Name: Mawile
Typing: Steel
Stats: 60/95/105/75/85/30 (Same Stats as buffed Sableye, +10 HP, Atk & Def, -10 SpA, SpD, & Spe)
Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Intimidate
Notable Moves: Meteor Mash, Lunge, Slack Off, Thunder Wave, Knock Off, Flamethrower, Rock Slide, Foul Play, Swords Dance, Baton Pass, Ice Beam, Sucker Punch, Brick Break, Taunt
How It Fulfills the Concept: Thanks to Intimidate, Mawile can very easily pivot into Aerodactyl and Tyranitar's Rock-type attacks, which deal pretty much no damage to it, and can even hard switch into Earthquake (calcs below) and Slack Off the damage right after. Mawile also naturally gets Baton Pass, which gives it a niche as a Defensive Pivot that can generate momentum off of an Aerodactyl that locks itself into Rock Slide. And while it doesn't have Magic Guard like its counterpart Sableye, its Steel-typing still gives it a sand immunity, making it difficult to wear down. It does have some flaws, like lackluster special bulk, having to choose between generating momentum and healing up, atrocious Speed stat, and being fairly passive thanks to Steel being pretty awful offensively, but if checking Aerodactyl is what you need, Mawile does it for you
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 132-156 (40.7 - 48.1%) -- 42.2% chance to 2HKO after 2 layers of Spikes and Leftovers recovery
-1 252 Atk Tyranitar Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 105-124 (32.4 - 38.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after 2 layers of Spikes and Leftovers recovery
Mawile @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Slack Off
- Baton Pass
- Toxic / Thunder Wave / Knock Off / Foul Play

metagross but bad but with baton pass (Mawile) @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Flash Cannon
- Brick Break
- Rock Slide / Hidden Power [Ground]
- Baton Pass
:skuntank:
Concept Name: Viable Poison Type
Pokemon Name: Skuntank
Typing: Poison / Dark
Stats: 111 / 77 / 79 / 77 / 79 / 91 [514 BST]
Abilities: Overcoat / Intimidate
Notable Moves: Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, Crunch, Haze, Toxic, Slack Off, Knock Off,
How It Fulfills the Concept: Typing is amazing due to only a single weakness, which is usually telegraphed as HP Ground doesn't really exist. This is rather bulky for this meta's standards, especially with its new access to Slack Off. Knock Off and Intimidate can shut down Choice Band mons, and Haze lets it stop set up mons.
We will have a brief discussion phase for a few days before we start Slate 7, which will follow the same structure as before.

Additionally, we are a candidate for Pet Mod of the Season! Voting closes on the 29th and we're already seeing a strong show of support for this mod. Thank you to anyone that voted for us or is considering doing so.

Sup y‘all, I made a role compendium using newly-buffed/introduced mons. Knock yourself out and reply if I missed something, it’s 3 AM and I’ve been working on this for the past hour or so, good lord I’m never doing something like this again

Swift Swimmer that functions like a Chlorophyll user. :Armaldo:
Elaboration: Weak to water type, resists fire.

Something that abuses the fact there’s no team preview. :Zoroark:
Elaboration: Pretty self explanatory, but this doesn’t need to be Illusion, there are other things that this works with though, such as role compression that doesn’t exist tricking you into believing you have something that you don’t, this one is less good as a whole however.

Pokémon that uses Berries Viably :exeggutor:
Elaboration:Self Explanatory
I may add more in the future

Best Gal

once upon a time wont last forever
Concept Name: Viable Bug Type :galvantula: :buzzwole: :golisopod: :beedrill: :shuckle:
Description: A Bug type, which is traditionally poor viability wise, that is actually viable.
Justification: The amount of viable Bug types is limited to Ledian, Heracross, Forretress, and being generous you can consider the UUBL bugs...maybe. I think adding a viable bug would be swell!

Concept Name: Devamped Fairy Type :florges: :sylveon: :aromatisse: :klefki: :diancie:
Description: A Pokemon introduced with the Fairy typing, ported down into Hoenn Gaiden- would need a type change, maybe an ability alteration, and definitely a moveset overhaul, so it'd be an interesting undertaking.
Justification: We've not done any Fairy type Pokemon yet and I think it'd be really cool. There's not much to do as far as projecting what role they'd fill, since it's such a broad category.

:honchkrow::infernape::urshifu::krookodile::slowbro-galar:
Concept Name: Mixed Dual-typed Pokemon with a Physical type and a Special type
Description: As we know, ADV is the last Gen where Move Categories are depended on typing. I would like to see a Pokémon that can run mixed sets while using its STABs.
Justification: This could open up some options for attackers that could fit on most teams due to their versatility.

:tornadus::drifblim::charizard::raikou::goodra:
Concept Name: Weather Ball Abuser
Description: A Pokémon that can use Rock coverage on Sand Teams or Ice coverage on Hail teams
Justification: There are some Pokémon that could need some more coverage options and with permanent weather, this coverage could last for the entire game.

Concept Name: Physical Attacker with no physical STAB :entei::sneasel::absol::sharpedo:
Description: A Pokémon that can effectively act as a physical attacker despite not having any physical STAB moves due to its typing
Justification: Some Pokémon with great stats get royally screwed over by having a typing that is exclusively in its weaker offensive stat. While rare, there are notable special attackers like Gengar, Porygon2, and Calm Mind Blissey that are able to overcome this setback and become OU threats. For physical attackers that lack physical STAB, however, are none even close to OU-viable. The closest we have right now are SD Pass Celebi, which often doesn't even run attacking moves, Tropius, who's barely viable and probably much better at Calm Minding, and Eelektross, who's used as a specially-leaning mixed attacker so it doesn't quite count. There's plenty of strong physical moves out there, so a Pokémon with the typing and other tools to get past the counterplay to physical attackers without having STAB, or even using its STAB as a physically-leaning mixed attacker, could be interesting to explore

Concept Name: Mementos :gardevoir::muk::moltres-galar:
Description: A Pokémon that can effectively use moves that KO itself, not including Self-Destruct or Explosion, to support the rest of its team
Justification: Self-Destruct and Explosion are major momentum grabbers in any pre-Gen 5 meta due to their immense power that can turn a battle on its head instantly. However, in Gen 3, there's another self-KO move that's very seldom seen due to it's terrible distribution, being Memento. Memento is an interesting move in that it grabs momentum in a more passive way compared to booming but allows the fallen's teammates to set up more easily or get a free switch to start wallbreaking, making it an effective option all on its own.

Concept Name: Steel Coverage User :metagross::mawile::scizor:
Description: A Pokémon that wants to use Steel-type coverage to hit certain threats, either because it has STAB on it or for hitting a certain check
Justification: Steel is one of the best, if the best, typings in the game, especially in Gen 3, but that's 90% because of how ridiculously good it is defensively. Offensively, at least before Gen 6, it's actually one of the worst typings in the game, only hitting Ice and Rock super effectively (which are both hit by Fighting) and having common resists in Electric, Steel (ironic), and Water. This, compounded by the fact that the best Steel move that most Pokémon get is either Hidden Power or Steel Wing and you almost never see Steel-type moves. However, with the best Pokémon in the metagame being weak to Steel, Steel having pretty good neutral coverage (resisted by the same number of types as Fighting with no immunities), and Meteor Mash being an insane move, just ask Metagross, there could certainly be a way to make Steel coverage an asset for a Pokémon

Work!
Concept Name: Utility Cart :miltank: :alomomola: :florges:
Description: A Pokemon that has a variety of viable sets to support its team, though it is not an effective attacker
Justification: We have lots of strong attackers and walls in this meta, but we have minimal supportive options to go alongside them. Most of our mons that have support options usually don't prioritize these (ex: Rapid Spin Talonflame) over offensive/defensive functions.

Concept Name: Dragon-type attacker :drampa: :naganadel: :exeggutor-alola: :duraludon: :dragapult: :regidrago:
Description: A Pokemon that successfully uses its Dragon-type moves to attack.
Justification: The wording here is intentional as while Dragonite, Flygon and especially Salamence are all viable Dragons, none of them use actual dragon moves (save for mixed Mence which is rather fringe). This is in stark contrast from current gens which have Dragon moves everywhere.

Concept Name: trap-proof Electric type :regieleki: :zeraora: :tapu-koko: :thundurus: :emolga:
Description: An Electric-type that is able to effectively manage Arena Trap (read as: Dugtrio)
Justification: We added a lot of Electrics during the Galvanize slate, but all of them share the commonality of being trapped by Dugtrio. This is shared by most existing Electrics, with the exceptions of Zapdos, the niche Eelektross and Baton Pass Jolteon, and so this would provide more diversity in our Electric type roles by encouraging the use of Electric mons that aren't Dugtrio food.

Concept Name: New Gen Uber :genesect: :pheromosa: :darmanitan-galar: :naganadel: :zygarde: :cinderace: :dracovish: :magearna: :spectrier: :aegislash:
Description: A Pokemon that was voted into Ubers in newer gens that has been repurposed into a new environment while still resembling its modern self.
Justification: A lot of these seem like they'd be potentially interesting with Gen 3 mechanics

Concept Name: Perfect Teammate :ferrothorn: :landorus-therian: :clefable: :dragapult:
Description: A Pokemon who is not only viable in the meta, but promotes the increased viability of other Pokemon in the tier through supporting them.
Justification: A lot of Pokemon are already viable in this meta, so why not have a 2 for 1 deal to increase the amount.

Concept Name: Double Buff :minun: :crabominable: :roselia:
Description: A Pokémon we have already buffed that needs more help.
Justification: We do have some duds that need some more tuning.

1624799101847.png
1624799218713.png
1624799346963.png

Description: A mon that utilizes a signature ability or move to its advantage to give it a unique role or usage in the meta.
Justification: Despite the large variety of different mons that have been added to the metagame, most mons in usage can still be lumped into similar categories. In later gens, there are many mons with signature moves or abilities that give them a unique niche and spice up games from time-to-time. The goal here is to add pokemon that either break out of the typical roles in the meta or that achieve these roles uniquely.

UGGGHHH. It's like a month later, and the computer fix I was supposed to get, of course, still hasn't happened, which is why I have sat out the last two slates entirely; I don't expect it to be fixed before next Monday at this point, if even then. That's why I'll sit out this one too.

Still, I wanted to do something, especially since iceblazer did the compendium thing I was intending to do but kept putting off in my laziness (and utter hatred of summer and the badness of this June in particular). As such, I going to do two things instead:

1. Remind everyone who hasn't voted to go vote for whatever Pet Mod(s) they want for next Pet Mod of the Month before tomorrow (ends?). As someone who doesn't use the Like button (because I also loathe Facebook and its ilk), I still voted for this mod at least.

2. Just as importantly, I have catalogued all 6 slates so far exhaustively below so that (other) people can go over iceblazer's work better and help him double-check. I'm pretty sure he's right about the non-meta stuff as well as the metagame stuff that I (still) can't check right now, but I figured it still needed to be done anyway, especially since the front page will need to be updated at some point. Oh, gods, Slate 3 alone was so tedious that it took like an hour by itself, during which I got a completely unreasonable request to do something else that effectively ruins today and tomorrow, but I digress outside of begging everyone to note any stat changes from official stats from now please; it's up to Ema Skye and the other co-runners of course, but I imagine it helps them too.

I may well have one or more mistakes despite all of the proofreading (like always), but I'm too tired to care at this point, especially given just posting this took like two hours on top of the above unneeded stress and now a minor earthquake--Poseidon Christ, why are you like this? So I'm posting this now before I get disconnected; thankfully it was basically already finished (again) after gathering up all the URL links.

Gods, it's like everyday I relate (even) more to both the Disney version of Hades and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Can (this) summer be over already?

P.S. Gods bless you, Best Gal, for being the only person to put your recipients alphabetically during Slate 5.

EDIT AS OF 2021/06/29: Despite or because today has been even worse than yesterday, I figured I should fix this sooner than later. So I think I got all of the surprisingly few typos corrected. I also added those miniature pictures for every mon since that at least helps make Slate 5's list easier to read, and I wanted to be consistent where possible. Congrats with winning Pet Mod of the Month, Hoenn Gaiden!

(P.P.S. Going to fix the typing lines of three of my old posts since I noticed at least Spiritomb's is out of wack all of a sudden, and that could happen to Crabominable too, so it should be fixed now while it's on my mind. That's all I'm changing though.)

Concept Name: Un-Broken Mon
Description: Take an overpowered mon that is busted because it abuses mechanics added after RSE, and put it in an environment where it doesnt have access to its gimmicks.
Justification: There are a lot of overpowered pokemon that abuse post-RSE additions to such a degree that without them, they would actually be balanced. It'd be cool to see, for example, Toxapex loses access to Regenerator and Scald. (I'm not saying pex belongs in this meta tho, it was just an example.) Another example could be Genesect, losing both Download and U-Turn. (also techno blast would cease to exist lmao)

Concept Name: Reliable Answer to Electric Types :camerupt: :excadrill:
Description: A pokemon that can reliably take electric type moves throughout a game while also not fearing common coverage for electric types such as Ice or Grass
Justification: Pokemon like Zapdos and Jolteon can often be difficult to play around because their Thunderbolts are quite dangerous and they can pack a Hidden Power that can take out pokemon like Swampert, Flygon or Gliscor that would otherwise be able to shrug their stab off. While pokemon like Blissey or Celebi aren't bad at taking on these pokemon, having a few more, splashable answers for them would be nice.

Concept Name: Balanced User of a Powerful Ability :azumarill: :medicham: :persian-alola:
Description: A pokemon that can use an ability that could be considered "overpowered" while staying balanced.
Justification: Pretty self-explanatory. This idea came to mind because abilities matter less in ADV than in current generations. Sure certain abilities like Intimidate, Levitate or Sand Stream can be pretty defining, but pokemon like Swampert or Skarmory rarely make use of their ability, if ever.

Concept: Type/Category Dissonance :gengar::weavile::zarude:
Description: A Pokemon whose STAB(s) are of its lower attacking stat.
Justification: I always wondered how Gengar was viable without its STABs, which it relies on so heavily nowadays, so it would be interesting to mimic its success with another typing without switching attacking stats.
