Hello, fellow battlers! After playing UU for a while and learning the metagame, I decided to create a team that could accomplish a few goals. It could live without entry hazards, prevent the opponent from setting their own hazards up (either through Taunt, or sheer intimidation), and taking common Pokemon out of commission with some gimmicky, yet effective sets. This team has worked wonders, and is probably the best UU team I've made so far. Hopefully, you can help me make it even better!
Without further ado, on to the team!
Crobat @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP, 80 Attack, 176 Speed
Jolly (+ Speed, - Sp. Attack)
Inner Focus
~Brave Bird
~Taunt
~Roost
~U-turn
My usual lead. Crobat is a beast, and is one of the most important members of my team. I needed a fast, bulky Taunt user that could actually hit hard. Ever since Mew went on to bigger things, I needed a replacement, so I picked Crobat, and he works wonders.
Brave Bird lets Crobat do some damage; a 120 BP STAB move is gonna hurt. Taunt is the crux of this set, preventing entry hazards on my side of the battlefield. Taunt is also used to stop setup Pokes in their tracks; Crobat can come in on so many things, it's hilarious (CM Suicune, DD Scrafty, most CM/NP Mismagius, etc.). Roost lets me recover health, and rids Crobat of three of his weaknesses, and since he's blazingly fast, he can cover his weaknesses before an attack, further extending the list of opponents he can counter/check. U-turn lets me scout the switch-in after Taunt has been used, and provides offensive momentum.
The EVs and nature let me outspeed base 120 Speed opponents, such as Sceptile. Max HP is used for maximum bulk, and the rest is poured into Attack to give Brave Bird more oomph.
Milotic @ Leftovers
EVs: 248 HP, 196 Defense, 56 Sp. Defense, 8 Speed
Calm (+ Sp. Defense, - Attack)
Marvel Scale
~Scald
~Dragon Tail
~Rest
~Sleep Talk
Ah, Milotic. One of DPPt UU's defensive behemoths returns this generation with new toys. RestTalk Milotic is a fantastic mixed wall, and its two weaknesses are covered by other members of the team (Crobat x4 resists Grass, and Flygon is immune to Electric). Milotic acts as a defensive pivot along with Crobat, and is a great all-around team player.
Scald is an infuriatingly good move, and is the cause for a lot of hax (30% my ass). It is a good STAB attack, and the burn never hurts, usually (I'm looking at you, Heracross). Dragon Tail is a great phazing move, letting Milotic scout and giving the team another way to deal with setup Pokes. The Rest + Sleep Talk combination is great; not only does it give me instant 100% health/status recovery, but it activates Marvel Scale, which increases Milotic's Defense stat by 1.5x, giving it more bulk in its lesser defense.
The EVs give Milotic great defensive capabilities, and give it enough Speed to outpace Adamant Aggron. A Calm nature is used to give more special bulk, and the Attack drop is negligible.
Weavile @ Expert Belt
EVs: 252 Attack, 4 Sp. Defense, 252 Speed
Jolly (+ Speed, - Sp. Attack)
Pressure
~Pursuit
~Low Kick
~Ice Shard
~Ice Punch
That awkward moment when my opponent switches in Zapdos after I Pursuit-trap a Xatu thinking I'm Banded, only to be Ice Punched. Against an offensive Zapdos, Ice Punch does 99.4% minimum. This is an excellent lure, and is just such a great revenge killer with Ice Shard and Pursuit.
Pursuit lets me trap Dark-weak or low-health foes. Low Kick gives me an option against Registeel and Steelix. Ice Shard picks off things like Scarf Flygon and other things that outspeed me or have priority. Ice Punch lets Weavile do more consistent damage to foes like Zapdos.
Max Speed and Attack are a given for a physical attacker like Weavile. Expert Belt lets me bluff a Choice Band, and lures many an opponent to their doom.
Zapdos @ Choice Scarf
EVs: 4 Defense, 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed
Timid (+ Speed, - Attack)
Pressure
~Thunderbolt
~Heat Wave
~Hidden Power (Grass)
~U-turn
My second revenge killer. Scarf Zapdos is so underrated. It has a huge 125 base Sp. Attack, and a great 100 base Speed. It can put huge dents in anything, and does a fantastic job at decimating teams in a late-game sweep.
Thunderbolt is a reliable STAB, and 2HKOs Physically Defensive Milotic along Slowbro (It even KOs Slowbro after a Calm Mind). Heat Wave is for Grass types and Steel types, such as Shaymin, Registeel, Steelix, Roserade, etc. Hidden Power Grass decimates Swampert and Rhyperior, the main targets of this move. U-turn lets me scout without being stopped by Ground types, and no type is immune to Bug.
The given EVs let me speed tie with Scarf Flygon, who can't kill me in one hit with Outrage, and I just U-turn and introduce him to Weavile. It's also useful to be able to outspeed Darmanitan in any situation.
Mismagius @ Choice Specs
EVs: 252 Sp. Attack, 4 Sp. Defense, 252 Speed
Timid (+ Speed, - Attack)
Levitate
~Shadow Ball
~Thunderbolt
~Hidden Power (Fighting)
~Trick
The nuke of the team. Mismagius hits like a truck with Choice Specs, and her coverage is nice and hits many opponents hard. Also, if I'm in a bad situation concerning a wall or threat I have trouble with, I can just Trick it some nice-looking Specs. A valuable member of my team.
Shadow Ball is good, reliable STAB. It cleanly 2HKOs Sableye, and has a chance of 2HKOing Rhyperior, who laughs at Hidden Power Fighting (3HKO). Thunderbolt hits Water types like Milotic and Blastoise harder than Shadow Ball. Hidden Power Fighting attains perfect neutral coverage with Shadow Ball; nothing resists the combo in any metagame. It is also my only option for Snorlax and Porygon2. Trick lets me cripple a counter, such as Swampert or Rhyperior (lulz Specs Rhyperior).
Max Speed + Sp. Attack = standard. 'Nuff said.
Flygon @ Life Orb
EVs: 80 Attack, 252 Sp. Attack, 176 Speed
Rash (+ Sp. Attack, - Sp. Defense)
Levitate
~Earthquake
~Draco Meteor
~Fire Blast
~Roost
Oh ma Arceus, I love this thing. It just brings joy to my heart to see my opponents switch in Gligar to wall my Scarfed/Banded Outrage/Earthquake, only to be 2HKOed cleanly by Draco Meteor. This thing is the ultimate lure, and can still deal damage after the jig is up.
Earthquake is for stuff like Steelix and Registeel, who would wall Draco. Speaking of Draco Meteor... just wow. A nice, powerful, reliable STAB with huge base power. Catches many a player off guard, and obliterates quite a few Pokes. Fire Blast is purely for Bronzong, who walls Flygon otherwise. Roost allows me to heal Life Orb recoil on a free turn.
Max Sp. Attack lets Draco Meteor smash things to pieces. 176 Speed EVs lets me outspeed base 90s, and the rest is put into Attack for Earthquake.
Well, that's the team. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you may have for fixes, threats, etc. I'm also making new teams constantly, so check for my name on the boards.
Thank you for taking the time to read, and take care!
Without further ado, on to the team!
