Hey everyone I don't really post RMT that much as I'm a bit of a lurker, getting ideas from here and there on building my own unique teams and once i do build them I'm usually very satisfied.Anyway now that introduction is out the way my initial thought process on building the team was around Hoopa-U.
Hoopa-Unbound
hoopa-mega.png

Hoopa-Unbound @ Choice Band
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Gunk Shot
- Fire Punch
- Zen Headbutt

I knew Hoopa was a very powerful anti-meta mon as it 2HKO most the meta after rocks or prior damage that being the main reason i wanted to build around him, I went with the physical band variant asit's my personal favorite. Hyperspace puts in work vs Celesteela trying to protect and most the meta except maybe defensive Lando-T.Gunk shot is mainly for the the tapu's and greninja if needed,Fire punch is very important as it allows me to break past bulky steels such as Ferro,Scizor,Magearna and it does decent damage to celesteela,Zen is mostly for Venusuar and Toxapex as they're pretty annoying for my team.

Tapu-Koko
latest

Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Taunt
- Hidden Power Ice
- U-turn

My next member is Koko as it pairs great with Hoopa allowing me to saftley switch in Hoopa on potential switches and gain momentum. I decided to go with the special Electric-Z as i felt more confortable with this set as the physical is mainly used to catch AV Magearna off surprise and i felt i didn't need it because i have Hoopa and other memebers on the team to deal with Magearna. The set is very standard I generally Bring this in to bait out a lando or Magearna switch and U-turn out into a Hoopa or my own Lando depending the choice of switch. Electric-Z is also a very good move to weaken troublesome mons early on or late in the game.

Scizor
scizor-mega.gif

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn

I originally starded off with Defensive Defog Scizor, but many people from Showdown suggest I use SD Scizor or HP ice to better my MU with Zygarde and give me a win con for late game. This set is actually back from 6th gen and it's the one i generally use on my Scizor's.I generally bring this in late game and SD so clean up or Mid game to tank hit's and U-turn out to gain momentum or BP depending on how weakened they are. Overall Scizor has great synergy with Koko and Hoopa.
Mantine
mantine.gif

Mantine @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 124 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Scald
- Haze
- Defog

My team was starting to look very weak vs Volcarona and Ash/Greninja so i added Mantine as my defogger and primary counter to them. Roost for longevity, scald is mainly to cripple mon's with burn or general damage and i went with Haze over toxic seeing as my heatran already carried toxic to cripple mons and I needed it to get rid of any boosted stats from Quiver dance Volc, Defog because i don't want Koko or Hoopa getting weakened by Spikes or Rocks.

Lando-T
landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Knock Off

I originally had scarfChomp on this slot for Zygarde and Koko but many people on the ladder suggested i change it to scarfLando because chomp gets stuffed by many mons and not having acess to U-turn and intimate it was also another EQ immunity was really enough to make me drop Chomp for Lando. Scarf Lando is not very popular atm since most are either fly-Z or defensive so i catch many Koko's off surprise with earthquake, U-turn yet again to keep the pressure and momentum up vs my opponent. HP ice for Zygarde and opposing landorus, Knock was opted over explosion and stone edge simply because it helps my MU versus stall much more efficiently, knocking off lefties from Celesteela or eviolite from chansey.

Heatran
heatran.gif

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 212 HP / 44 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power

I needed a SR user and since Lando was a more offensive variant i opted with Heatran as it has great synergy with Scizor and Hoopa covering their weaknesses pretty well it also allowed me to trap annoying Pokemon with Magma Storm. Earthpower for coverage, Toxic to cripple mons and weaken them for scizor or hoopa to clean and SR manditory for Zard Y and for hoopa to 2HKO the meta.

Team weaknesses
Rain, not unbeatable but does require a lot of predictions
Medicham
Zygarde, If it manages to get +2
etc

Hey Enenra! I'm loving how plentiful the Hoopa-Unbound teams are in this current meta. The ban of Arena Trap really allows it to shine—actually breaking stall builds. I like the offensive and defensive synergy of this team as well. I don't recommend putting "etc" for your Threatlist, though, as it makes it very hard as a team rater to address any weaknesses you've come across in practice.

I certainly agree with you in saying that the rain match-up is very tough. Your only countermeasure is Mantine, which is the Water immunity. I personally don't see DD Zygarde as much of a threat on paper, but you're speaking from in practice. If you continue to use this original build, try to keep Scizor in. A +2 Bullet Punch 2HKOs after rocks 86% of the time, and you'll be able to fire off 2 Bullet Punches before the opponent can use 2 Thousand Arrows. With my upcoming change, it checks (non Groundiunium Z, which isn't standard anymore) Zygarde quite easily. Landorus has Intimidate coupled with HP Ice, as does your Tapu Koko. I don't see this team switching into CB Tyranitar consistently at all, as you have no Rock-resist. Anyways, awesome team; let's hop into the rate. Hopefully I can address any threats & more. :]

TEAM CHANGES

electriumz.png
, CM > Taunt, Dazzling Gleam > U-turn] - To help with your supposed weakness to Zygarde, have you considered Fairium Z Tapu Koko? It OHKOs Tyranitar, Zygarde, Offensive Lando-T with some prior damage, etc. With a CM boost, you'll be able to most notably OHKO Tapu Bulu and Defensive Landorus. Twinkle Tackle, in my opinion, already patches up some of the weaknesses that you and I have located.

212-mega.png
[Utility > SD] - I'm changing Mantine to Toxapex, so you'll still need a Defog user. I'd like to suggest a Utility variant. It's not as optimal against the likes of SubCoil Zygarde, but it's not nearly as popular as it once was. Scizor now acts more as a dedicated check to physical threats, which the team lacked.

- To compensate for a harder MU vs. Substitute Zygarde sets, Toxapex provides amazing Toxic Spikes support. This helps Hoopa break teams with added chip damage and poisons Zygardes (+ other Sub Pokemon), helping Scizor. Pex isn't weak to rocks, so it can answer its checks at lot more consistently; unlike Mantine. Pex also absorbs Tspikes for your Koko and Hoopa-U, while also acting as a solid pivot alongside Scizor.

645-therian.png
[Stealth Rock > Explosion] - Unfortunately, given my next change, this has to happen. Scarf Rocks is very suboptimal, but I feel that to really help your rain MU as well as the Tyranitar one slightly, I'm going to later replace Heatran with Tangrowth. Therefore, this team is left without rocks. I feel that any competitive team needs rocks, though, and I also feel that BO archetypes require a Scarfer.

- Tangrowth, as aforementioned, is intended to improve the rain match-up and help slightly against Tyranitar. I'm going to add a few Defense EVs more compared to the standard, which will be used to avoid the Banded Crunch 2HKO w/o prior damage. This is up to you, of course, and if you feel that you're missing out on quite a bit of SpDef bulk, feel free to fill in this EVs again. Tangrowth and Toxapex form a great Regenerator core, too.

OTHER OPTIONS

- Celesteela + Toxapex is an amazing defensive core, but this ruins your rain match-up by quite a bit. However, it helps with DD Mega TTar, Tapu Lele, which is a notable threat and some other Pokemon. It's always available, so if you find yourself struggling against whatever Steela checks (ie Lele, Lati@s), you can apply it. This would have to be your dedicated check, alongside Scizor, to Mega Swampert, though. Both of those Pokemon do not resist Water, so they're unreliable in that fashion.

I hope that you can cope with the Scarf rocks. If you don't like it, you can feel free to alter the rated variant / have no rocks whatsoever or even no Scarf Lando. Again, Celesteela is available to put over Tangrowth if you really desire it. Overall, I feel that my rated variant and even the original team struggle with Tapu Lele. As counterplay, try to catch Specs variants, the primary issue, off-guard with a Scarf EQ with Landorus—potentially bluffing an Offensive SR set beforehand. I feel that this team is pretty solid, though. I hope you enjoyed the rate; good luck! :toast:

-Latios- Hey there, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time out of your day to rate my team and regarding the Team edits, Iv'e made them and had a couple battles with the new team. I can say Calm Mind FairiumZ Koko is really good.I'm not a fan of Defensive Scizor but it was very neat to have vs Mimikyu as +2 Never ending nightmare didn't do an thing to Scizor, Overall I'm pretty happy with the edits and using the double regenerator core is very fun.
