how is strategy being developed

Hi everyone! I've been off for a long while and people here seem to know a lot about Diamond/Pearl

I don't have nintendo DS but I've played the new versions. What I've figured out is that DP is quite diffferent from RSE (I'm talking about strategy, of course). The fact is that the modern advanced metagame wasn't developed until netbattle came out and people could play pokemon battles without any restriction.

As far as I know, the only way to play DP online is via nintendo wi-fi, so, how come people are talking about movepools, tiers and that kind of stuff?

If you've brought up a team on your gameboy, I'm sure you won't be using the right EV's nor have the best IV's. And also, what do people do? do they spend they're TM's just to see if they work well on some particular poke? How do people know which are the pokes that work well together?

As I see it, DP metagame is not trying to adapt avanced metagame to the new moves. I feel that DP is a new conception of the game/battles.

So, my question is: how is strategy being developed? And also, do you know when competitor (netbattle for DP) is going to be ready?

Here is a place you can play D/P online... its usually always packed with players, and its a nice place to test your strategies. just go to http://shoddybattle.com/ and check it out :D its basically what netbattle was for adv.. This is how i make my strategies before i try to build them for wifi batteling. Also, you can buy most of the TM's or trade for them over wifi...

People Breed for the right natures and IV's. Then the put the right EV's. This is after you beat the game usualy ofcourse.

Uh, also, most TMs are reobtainable, there is multiple cloning glitches across generations to get more copies of the Gym Leader ones regardless.
 
Thanks everyone, I've been playing a little and it's amazing. BTW, is there any thread in smogon that explains the main new moves (this is where i find confusing) and whether they are special or physical?

I've realised that people have discovered some smart uses of the new metagame, like thunderpunch-lax and so.
