How Long Has It Been? RMT

So its time I add one more team to my arsenal. My last team does great but the huge Leech Seed Celebi weakness sucks. I devised this team in an attempt to use old and new Pokemon.

I give my Pokemon ridiculous nicknames and I compulsively create teams and RMT.

So here it is,
Team Jackoffasaurus

The idea behind the team is to work off each others resistances and immunities to pull off a haxy win with Garchomp. I didn't make this team to specifically get rid of Garchomps counters, but rather made it so that they can deal with them.

First up my trusty lead.

I Singed My Eyebrows At Last Night's Bond Fire
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: "252 HP/252 Def/ 4 Spe"
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

I'm addicted to Swampert what can I say? Same as usual except this time he works in conjuction with Skarmory.

Fire Is The Devil
Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP/66 Def/132 Spd/66 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Lava Plume
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Obligatory whorage of a Sleep Talk Heatran. It has that crappy EV spread because I felt like splitting the defenses was better than just investing in his already decent 325 Sp.Atk. Also works in conjuction with Skarmory. More on it later.

Dracula Mountain
Shaymin (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Spd/4 Sp.Atk
Timid nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power Fire

Fills in gaps in my team. Outspeeds most Salamence for no reason. Leech Seed + Substitute to annoy something.

Elvis Didn't Die
Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/56 Atk/196 Def/4 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Spikes

This glamorous steel bird. I have not used it since ADV, but now I find that Skarmory has many Pokemon with which it can work well with. Everyone can take a hit or two for Skarm :) Spikes + Whirldwind after Swampert has set up Stealth Rock works very well as people don't tend to bother Rapid Spinning because of today's fast paced metagame.

There Can Not Be A Close Second
Garchomp (M) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Outrage

No introduction needed. This is why everyone hates Garchomp. A devastating late game sweeper. Once I know 'Zong, Forry, Cress, and Hippowdon are out of the way I send him in to sweep. Its a lovely surprise for Mamoswine when his Ice Shard fails to OHKO and he dies to an Outrage.

Surprise! Im From Cuba. Everyone Has One Brain
Gengar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Revenge killer and Spin blocker. I love his coverage and to be honest I missed him. Very useful on this team. I see you Salamence ;)

More on the team.

Swampert + Skarmory:
Swampert as you know has one weakness, Grass. Skarmory resists Grass very well so it makes a good partner for Swampert. Skarmory has 2 weaknesses, Fire and Electric attacks, attacks which Swampert resists and is immune to. Now they are both physical walls so thats where the next player comes in:

Swampert + Skarmory + Heatran:
As mentioned above, Swampert + Skarmory works very well, but being incapable of taking special hits sucks. For that reason I added Heatran. Heatran's Ground attack weakness is covered by Skarmory, and thanks to his high Special Defenses Heatran can take those Special hits Skarmory and Swampert can't take on so well.

Swampert + Skamory + Heatran + Gengar:
Having covered each others weakness for Fighting, I decided to add Gengar who has 2 immunities, Fighting and Ground which help get rid of Heatrans only weaknesses. Gengar has a couple of weaknesses all of which are resisted by Skarmory and Heatran. Dark, Ghost, and Psychic attacks will be absorbed, until I get a Pursuit user and I'm toast.

Garchomp + Skarmory + Heatran:
The other quartet in my team. Garchomp is only weak to Dragon and Ice so naturally Heatran would be a wise choice as he resists Dragon, and pretty much absorbs Ice attacks thanks to awesome defenses and a 4x resist. Dugtrio's weaknesses are very well covered by Skarmory and Heatran and gang raping Mamoswine works!

How can I improve on my team?

i dont really like how your only switch on gyara is gengar ;( no water resists and 2 weaks looks like trouble

It is trouble agaisnt Starmie.

I think switching Gengar in Gyarados is better.

But to get rid of my water problem I could always try Kingdra or Vaporeon over Garchomp.

Why is Stone Edge on Garchomp when Fire Fang is equally reasonable? It's easier to beat a Skarm with it then a CH Stone Edge. Swampert should consider Ice Beam, Salamece with Dragon Dance gets beaten soundly by Swampert, so try it.

Very nasty Water weakness. Milotic can stall you for a while, Slowbro will give you tumors, opposing Swampert will pimp you, and although this is unlikely, smart Gyarados will also plow through you. Suicune is practically gg right there. Shaymin could close all those gaps relatively well, consider it over. Kingdra or Vaporeon can works, but if anything over Duggy. A Subseeder in general can keep everything alive, and Shaymin beats a lot of Garchomp's major counters like that anyway.

That's pretty much all I can think of,

^I agree there. Although having two rock attacks is nice, having 'em both so shakey is tough to rock (sorry). Plus you could do with getting more nice hits on Bronzong and Forretress (as well as Scizor I guess).

Your Garchomp may laugh with impunity in Mamoswine's face, but watch out for Avalanching Cloysters and maybe Blizzard-lobbing Walreins (I don't know how common the latter is, but the former will likely carry it, and rightly should). Then, there is Weavile, a chance it will be out already with at least one dance under its belt. Hopefully, Heatran can nail him, or either Dugtrio or Gengar can on the switch (even Skarmory would be some help there) before then.

Can't say I am enthusiastic about replacing Duggy.

I replaced Dugtrio with Shaymin, the subseeding version. Its annoying as hell to face, and it is great, but unfortunately I feel like it should be sturdier since it is a cousin to Celebi. I'll try the SpecsMin version before I rule it out.

Vaporeon has been of particular interest. It can Baton Pass Wish, and Substitutes, which with thanks to its huge HP can help me stop Blissey :)

What's funny is that I've had success with both Shaymin and Duggy on the same team since he traps Shaymin's most common switchins.

For restalk Heatran I feel:252 HP/208 Sp.Def/52 Sp.Atk has become the norm.

If someone has good prediction skills, a SpecsMence will slowly rip your team apart. Swampert can't do shit to it without Ice Beam, and I think that it is one shotted by Draco Meteor. Heatran gets owned by Hydro Pump. Dugtrio can't switch in to any move. Skarmory is killed off with Fire Blast, Garchomp with Draco Meteor and Gengar with everything. This is too big of a weakness to be ignored. I'd recommend fitting a Calm Cresselia on there. If you run Charge Beam or Hidden Power [Electric], it could help with your huge Gyarados weakness as well.

Sorry guys. I updated the OP with Shaymin. Unforunately for SpecsMence he won't be coming in and out thanks to Stealth Rock. Further more I outspeed him.

Still, nothing can switch in. Without Rapid Spin or Wish support, it has the potential to switch in and wipe out one member of your team 4 times. With Rapid Spin or Wish support, he takes your whole team. Plus he can switch in on 4/6 of your team.

yes but said mence would have to have sheer perfect prediction to hit the right poke with the right move. further if it tried to draco meteor say pert only to be met by skarm, its dm pp could be swiftly depleted. pretty much prediction can ruin a specs mence any day of the week.

while alot of teams are weak to specsmence, "prediction" is never a counter to anything. if someone has no safe switches on a poke, then he's weak to that poke.

My only choice would be to replace Heatran with a pink blob, and perhaps adding Celebi over Shaymin. Maybe even Reflect Jirachi.

Well, that may be because of the way you EVed it and the moveset you gave it. If you wanted to use Shaymin as a bulky Pokemon it'd pretty sensible to EV it like one. Furthermore, a subseeding set contradicts the whole idea of bulkiness. Rest --> Substitute may help with that, along with a bulkier spread. Or, you could go for Aromatherapy if you feel the need to.

If you want to try Specs Shaymin, go ahead. You should only be using Shaymin over Celebi for Seed Flare or lack of Pursuit weakness, anyway!
