How long has it been since you saw a Sunny Day team?

I have been out of the metagame for a while and have seen that alot of things have changed, in particular that my beloved Garchomp has been moved to Ubers. So I have decided to try a whole new team. INtroducing team Sunny Day!

Heatran (M) @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Explosion

I really love using this lead. People see a heatran and immediatly think Scartran and move or switch accordingly. Because of that they hardly taunt me. I lay down the rocks and he turns into my sweeper, fire absorber and exploder. Love it
---
Tangrowth (M) @ Nothing
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs:
Lonely nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Swords Dance
- Power Whip
- Earthquake
- Sleep Powder

This guy is changable. In the sun he can sweep, but without he goes O.K as well. Most people in OU dont expect him and dont know what he can do. I dont know what to do with him and he needs an EV spread. Also needs an item
---
Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/192 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Close Combat
- Grass Knot

What can I say. Mixape is allways great. Espescially if his flamethrower is boosted by Sunnyday. I opted flamethrower over fire blast because it allready has STAB and ussualy has sun to boost it so I want accuracy.
---
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs:
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
- Hypnosis
- Earthquake

I dont really like Bronzong. The reason being I could never kill him. So it fells good to annoy someoneelse wih him. He gets the job done, but I am thinking about changing something for Explode, but Im not all to sure what.
---
Typhlosion (M) @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Sunny Day

I sub down using sunny day. Petaya + STAB + Sunnyday + Blaze + 348 Spc.Attack is not something you want to mess with.
---
Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 168 HP/168 Def/168 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Sunny Day
- Solarbeam
- Synthesis
- Toxic

I need something to fill this spot because he isnt getting the job done. I would like whatever is put here to have sunnyday so that I can have a backup if Typhlosion dies
---

I realise that I probably have way to many fire types and not enough walls, but I would like to base changes around this team. The goal is to get up Sunnyday and sweep with massively powerful fire moves. I am open to all and any criticism and help.

Is there really reason as to why you have Stealth Rock on Heatran and Bronzong? One Stealth Rock user on a team is enough and both Bronzong and Heatran can set SR up reliably so there is no need to have both of them using Stealth Rock. On a Sunny Day team, Heatran is best used as a sweeper rather than a lead. In addition to that, your lead should set up Sunny Day at the start of the match so you can begin sweeping with your Sunny Day sweepers of Tangrowth and Infernape. Try making Bronzong your lead over Heatran as Heatran should really be sweeping rather than being a lead.

Sunny Day teams require a few things to be successful; long lengths of Sunny Day, Stealth Rock, and a safe switch in for sweepers to allow them to wreak havoc. Bronzong sets up Sunny Day for 8 turns with Heat Rock, allows switching in by Exploding, and sets up Stealth Rock as well. For Bronzong, try Stealth Rock / Explosion / Hypnosis / Sunny Day, Heat Rock, Impish, 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 Def. SR is for support and is a great move in general. Sunny Day is there as this is a sunny Day team and you need some more users of Sunny Day to allow the sun to be up as long as possible. Explosion can be used to get rid of a troublesome Pokemon and allows you to switch-in one of your sweepers in for free once you have Exploded. Hypnosis may have low accuracy, however, Bronzong is bulky enough to put it to good use. Heat Rock makes Sunny Day last longer which will allow your sweepers to sweep for a longer period of time.

Onto Tangrowth. Your having trouble finding an EV spread and item. Well, since you are using SD with all physical moves, use a spread of 252 HP/252 Speed/4 Def. The max investment in Attack will allow Tangrowth to hit as hard as possible with its physical attacks. The max Speed allow Tangrowth to outspeed Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Heatran while Sunny Day is in play. For an item, use Life Orb. Life Orb will give Tangrowth more power to allow it to hit harder with its attacks.

With Heatran not leading anymore, try Solarbeam over Stealth Rock on Heatran. Solarbeam will allow Heatran to take care of the Pokemon that normally switch-in on Heatran such as Swampert, Starmie, and Vaporeon. Other Pokemon that enjoy switching into Heatran will be taken care of with Explosion, such as Blissey. You might want to use Life Orb as well to allow Heatran to hit as hard as possible and to maximize its sweeping abilities.

I think you can use a bit more insurance against Tyranitar. Nothing on your team really enjoys switching in on Tyranitar's attacks. Over Shaymin, you could try Hariyama. It might sound crazy, but Hariyama is actually very effective on Sunny Day teams. Hariyama resist Fire thanks to Thick fat in addition to Ice attacks. That means Hariyama can take the Fire attacks aimed at Tangrowth and Bronzong in addition to the Ice attacks aimed at Tangrowth. Hariyama also beats Tyranitar, a big threat to Sunny Day teams. Try Sunny Day, Brick Break, Ice Punch, Knock Off, 76 HP / 180 Atk / 252 Def, Impish, Heat Rock. Sunny Day is to have another Pokemon that can replenish the sun if it goes away. Brick Break is for STAB and can break any Dual Screens that may ruin your fun. Ice Punch offers great coverage as it hits Dragon-types such as Salamence in addition to Grass-types like Celebi. Knock Off is for more support to rid a Pokemon of their tem. The EVs are for general durability and Heat Rock makes Sunny Day last longer.

You have the wrong nature on Tangrowth as Adamant>Lonely.

Your typhlosion set looks rather hard to pull off in practice, as when you're subbing down for the boost, you're also wasting your own sunnyday turns. I would suggest scarfing your Tyhlosion and running eruption/fireblast/hpice/focus blast. Even after SR, Eruption has 112.5 BP, which although lower than Fire blast's, has a much higher expected damage output due to 100% accuracy as compared to a rather unreliable 85%.

Your team looks somewhat weak to Bulky Gyarados, especially the sleep talk variants as even if you put gyarados to sleep, nothing on your team can handle it very well afterwards besides a Bronzong explosion.(grass knot infernape and explosion from heatran is not a good answer) One thing you could try is running Stone edge on Tangrowth over Sleep powder.

I might jump back on to rate a little bit later but I've got to go.

Good luck with your team.

P.S.: Bloo made very good suggestions for your team and I second all of them ^.^
