How to Breed?

Currently, I'm breeding for a Choice Specs Salamence.

I have a lv.5 male Horsea (with Hydro Pump) with 31 IVs in Speed and a (male) Bagon with 31 IVs in Sp. Atk, as well as a Modest Ditto with 31 IVs in HP.

I've been breeding all these three days, and I still have not recieved a Modest Female Bagon, let alone one with 31 IVs in Sp.Atk (Ditto+Bagon). Am I doing this in the wrong order (Bagon+Ditto until I get a decent Female Bagon. Breed with Horsea), or am I just impatient and should just continue?

Also, how do I breed IVs for pokemons without the perfect IVs?

Is it: Breed Pokemon with Ditto with one wanted IV
Breed Pokemon B with Ditto with the other wanted IV
And keep on replaceing the Ditto/Offspring until I get a decent pokemon?

Is there a "correct" order/way to breed?

I'm just wondering since everyone on the "Look what I bred" thread has all these great pokes. If this thread is in the wrong place, then sorry and I'll post this in the correct place.

you have to equip ditto with an everstone for it to pass modest personality 50% of the time

there will be a "guide" soon, finished hopefully in a few days...

Yeah, I've put the everstone on Ditto, but out of the 50% chance that the bagon is modest, they are ALL male. Out of the 20 I breed just in the last hour or so, I've gotten 12 Male bagon and 8 female. Some of the females had the perfect sp.atk ev but wrong nature while all of the male bagon had a modest nature =/

And the guide would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait until then. =]

The good IVs get passed down?

Any parent IV can get passed down. The trick is to put the odds in your favour by using parents with the best IVs.

It still all comes down to luck when you're trying to pass down nature, Modest, (50%), getting a Female (50%), and passing down the parent's IV for the stat you want (not even going to attempt to figure out percentage chance for these)...

But at least you're pushing the odds in your favor over just breeding for randomly good IVs.
