My favorite way to play the game for 3 gens (4, 5 and 6) was to weaken the opponent's team and prepare for a Lucario sweep. To that end, I made this team:
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Will-O-Wisp
Heatran is probably the only OU pokemon who is a solid counter to Genesect right now, and all my previous teams suffered from not being able to counter Genesect. Heatran was just a natural choice. Stealth Rock is a must to get some essential OHKOs and 2HKOs with my sweepers, and WoW is there just so I can burn fighters on the switch more reliably. I gave him 0 Attack IVs just so I don't take too much damage from Foul Play.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb
- Baton Pass
- Recover
The most important Pokemon on the team, even though this team is based on Lucario. Using Celebi to pass Swords Dance to Mega Lucario is a great idea because Lucario's durability often gets in the way of a sweep. Furthermore, Celebi counters Rotom-W, which is really annoying to deal with, and uses Pokemon like Gliscor and Ferrothorn as set up bait. Natural Cure prevents WoW from being passed on to your sweepers, making Celebi a great Baton Pass user. She isn't useful just for Lucario though, passing Swords Dance to Pokemon like Azumarill and Talonflame makes them downright dangerous. The speed EVs are so Celebi can outspeed Gliscor.
Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Knock Off
Standard Azumarill, which counters annoying things like Conkeldurr and Greninja, and even Genesect to an extent. Instead of using Superpower, I use Knock Off in order to counter Reuniclus, who is annoying for this team to deal with. Knock Off is useful in general regardless. It's not essential for me to counter Ferrothorn because I use him as set up bait for Celebi.
Talonflame (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Jolly
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Tailwind
Uh, sorry for the strange sprite.. I couldn't find anything else. Talonflame is a great revenge-killer thanks to my Defog user, Salamence, and using SD + CB Brave Bird is downright scary. He's needed in order to check Pokemon like opposing Lucario.
Salamence (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Flamethrower
- Protect
- Defog
A set of my own making. It's true that Salamence is generally a poor Pokemon nowadays due to Steel and Fairy types being omnipresent; the Stealth Rock weakness doesn't help him either. But I think this is probably the best way to use Salamence. The reason is because this set allows Salamence to be an excellent counter to Aegislash, weaken fighting types with Intimidate, use Defog which gets rid of annoying SR and Spikes and pass Wish around your team. Protect allows me to scout for moves and heal easier with Wish. Salamence has the same EVs as Celebi, in order to outspeed Gliscor, which is all that's needed for him.
Lucario-Mega @ Lucarionite
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
The Pokemon this team was based on, and he's a fantastic sweeper with or without a Swords Dance. I don't really need to explain this set. I originally used Crunch because I had a HP Ice lure Aegislash, and since Jellicent is nowhere to be seen nowadays, I figured it's safer to use Ice Punch for Landorus-T and Gliscor. Crunch, which is really only needed for Aegislash, doesn't really provide a 100% effective way to take on Aegislash, so it's not preferable over Ice Punch.
I'd really appreciate comments on the team! Thanks.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
